Spelling definitely matters at school or anything to do with academics. Many word like "weather" and "whether" are said the same way but mean completely different things and when used in sentences can confuse the reader. On msn and forums it doesn't matter since its nothing serious and usually ur audience knows what ur talking about.

I think spelling matters whatever u do. U need to be undersood and to get your point across accurately, one needs to adhere to correct spelling. In school and uni here, you get marked downif spellings are incorrect - that alone taught me how important spelling is. Academically and in the working world, spelling is the first impression anyone gets of you. And if that is a bad first impression ... its all downhill from there!!!

i think spelling matters proffesionally but if its readable and u can understand it den it dnt matttr

when working profesionally in a company den its important to be able to use correct spelling but sme people on dis board point out spelling mistakes well infact that itz not a spelling mistake but its iz called slang' language need to get der facts right an all when mailing mst peeps use diz srt of language but when u r a employeed then ur employer would expect u to use standard english and be able to spell but thanx to microsoft(Bill Gates) it aint much of a probelm 4 ya dont knw about were u guys live but mst documents r written on da comp ere
