Angad reached Mumbai with the dream of singing under the music direction of the famous musician Inder Shah.But his dream has not been fulfilled as Inder hs no courage to try new singers.Inder's assistent Ramesh who is a tabalist is the only person who tells Angad not to lose confidence.He tells him to wait patiently and arranges a room in a lodge for him.Even Inder's daughter Gayatri underestimates Angad.Usually Gayatri and their family friend Amit sing Inder's songs.
Once she teases him :If you want to prove your talent,you have to sing on street like a beggar rather than going after music directors for a chance to sing in films.If your song is good,the people who pass by will throw coins at you.
Her sarcastic remark and laughter pricks his heart.

Ramesh is playing tabala.Gayatri enters the room.
G:Ramesh Uncle!
G:I thought that Angad has left Mumbai after dad threw him out.But he is still here.I saw him.You arranged a place for him to stay.Right?What is wrong with you?
R:What mistake did i do?Angad has an old mother and two unmarrie sisters.If i help Angad the whole family will be saved from poverty.Won't you allow that poor guy's family to survive?
Gayatri's face becomes dull.
R:He has the talent to sing.Why should his talent die in him?

Gayatri and Ramesh are climbing steps to reach Angad's room.They hear Angad singing:

R:He does'nt keep anything in his mind.
G:Anyways i heard his song.I promise..i will tell my dad to give him a chance.
Ramesh is happy.
She goes away with a smile.

Ramesh enters Angad's room.
R:Gayatri had come along with me.
Suddenly he thinks about how he got insulted by Gayatri.
A:Where is she?
R:She went back.I had told her about your difficulties.She became upset.She is not able to face you.That's why she left.She will tell Inderji to get you a chance.
Angad's face glows.

Gayatri is pouring water on her plants.Ramesh enters the compound.
G:Uncle..did you see Angad?
R:Yes.
G:How is he?
R:Fine.
G:Don't tell him that i will recommend him.
R:Why?
G:It's like that.
