hi, i have a question. I know that Pavitra Rishta means sacrificial love.......and i understand that is the platform of the show..that archu and manav must always sacrifice ... not being hindu i am having a lot of trouble with this...and also the idea that one must divorce your current wife to marry your brother's widow... ancient judaism also says that a brother has a responsibility to marry the widow of his brother and produce an heir for him (not practiced now) but NEVER EVER was he expected to divorce his present wife.....in effect, he then makes her in the same position that the widow was in..it makes no sense. can someone help me with this or is this just a story line with no ties to religious beliefs.

That said, if Pavitra Rishta is the basis for the show, how can archu and manav ever be happy then....?? isn't it built into the storyline that they must always sacrifice???

No, here the sacrifice doesn't have anything to do with any religion.. 😳
Pavitra Rishta means a pure relation .. and the sacrifice was always meant to be ever since the beginning of the show.
The red nd orange/yellow colours n the title montage are quite symbolic : red is the colour of love, and that yellowish orange is the colour of separation, sacrifice .. 😉 So they will b separated despite being madly crazily in love with each other..
And to answer your question, the sacrifice is just the plot of the story, just a mere storyline, a different type of love .. 😳

thanks tas.....the reason i thought it had to do with a concept in Hinduism is that a couple of people in the forum talked about the model for this pavitra rishta in the show was the sacrifice two Hindu deities made when they loved each other but married others. I forget who the gods were and what the reasons were, but that was why i associated with Hindu religion.

so, you don't think they will ever get together - that sacrifice will remain the only type of love here, or do you think there will be a reward for their sacrifices early on, and they will eventually remarry and reunite. 😉 (i hope 😊 )

@Naava .. oh ya I've heard of the same. But then people can have different perspectives naa, but the show isn't inspired by that love story. Thank God coz now ArMan's rishta isn't even love 😆. CVs screwed up the plot very badly and they need to fix it asap.

Well eventually ArMan will reunite and remarry, but not anytime soon, that's for sure 😉. But I seriously do not understand their logic. When everyone wanted them to get back together, they were like two mahaans saying "no no". And now they are like "We wanna live together" *shakes head*.... I know, this is a debatable issue lol.. :P
