Pavitra Rishta means a pure relation .. and the sacrifice was always meant to be ever since the beginning of the show.
The red nd orange/yellow colours n the title montage are quite symbolic : red is the colour of love, and that yellowish orange is the colour of separation, sacrifice .. 😉 So they will b separated despite being madly crazily in love with each other..
And to answer your question, the sacrifice is just the plot of the story, just a mere storyline, a different type of love .. 😳

thanks tas.....the reason i thought it had to do with a concept in Hinduism is that a couple of people in the forum talked about the model for this pavitra rishta in the show was the sacrifice two Hindu deities made when they loved each other but married others. I forget who the gods were and what the reasons were, but that was why i associated with Hindu religion.

so, you don't think they will ever get together - that sacrifice will remain the only type of love here, or do you think there will be a reward for their sacrifices early on, and they will eventually remarry and reunite. 😉 (i hope 😊 )
