Khanak kept the halwa on the table and went to call Shaan, who was still at the factory. Thinking what she would say to him, Khanak rubbed both her hands together and walked up and down in the living room. She wouldn't tell anything by phone instead she would ask him to come and see it on his own. Shaan answered her call at once, surprising her 'so, you want to tell me, Khanak?' he asked her without letting her to say a single word. 'Not over the phone, come home and we could meet at lunch time' Khanak made him more curious with her answer.
Shaan was overjoyed after hearing her response as finally she was going to say those three magical words to him. He wished that he could be at home right that moment to hear her saying 'I Love You' to him and to see how she would find it difficult to stay away from him after that. As he started his journey back to home he felt that the roads seemed longer than usual delaying him reaching her. He kept on scolding his driver, Dharam for driving slow, as his eagerness grew.
Khanak set the dinner table and went to have one last look at the halwa she made with I Love You written on top. She smiled at herself thinking that she has completed her task and Shaan would now know that she is Khanak from Dulwadi who was confident about herself. She stepped out of the kitchen hearing the door bell, thinking that Shaan has finally arrived home. She opened the door slowly and saw the handsome man who stole her heart standing in front of her. 'Khanak, aren't you going to allow me into the house or are you saying it to me right now?' Shaan asked in a husky voice. Khanak played with her hair to hide her nervousness while moving away from the door, letting Shaan into the house.
'Shaan beta, you came. How was your day?' Sunil came out from the kitchen when he saw Shaan entering the house. 'Superb, dad' Shaan answered his dad and winked at Khanak who was looking at the spoon on Sunil's hand. 'Ada, what is it you are having?' Khanak asked to make sure of what she saw. 'Khanak beta, I forgot to tell this that your mom-in-law loves to give surprises. Today is our wedding anniversary and she has surprised me by writing I love you on top of a gajjar ka halwa' Sunil had one mouthful as he talked to them. Shaan gestured at Khanak to learn something from this and tell him what he wanted to hear.
Khanak bit her finger nails knowing that Sunil has eaten the halwa she made for Shaan thinking it was a surprise gift from Madhvi. 'Oh Lord! What am I going to do now? Everything I did has ruined' she murmured to herself thinking that she has to find another way to express it to Shaan. She remained silent, looking at the way Sunil and Shaan enjoyed the halwa complimenting Madhvi. 'Sunil, what is this you are doing now?' Eating before we reach here?' Madhvi was shocked to see how Sunil and Shaan enjoyed eating the halwa without thinking about their health and fitness. 'Thanks mom, your hands are truly magical and what a surprise for dad' Shaan smiled at Madhvi complimenting her, who was unaware of what he was talking about. 'Surprise?' Madhvi widened her eyes in surprise as she did not know what they were talking about. Finally Sunil rose from his chair and thanked her for the surprise she arranged for him. Madhvi remained silent knowing that something went wrong somewhere.
'Come on tell me now' Shaan pleaded Khanak, standing right in front of her as soon as they both were left alone. Khanak felt the increasing rate of her heartbeat with his impatience as he moved closer to her again. She felt her back against the hard wall as she could not move any further, thinking that she has to do something to get away from him. She kept on staring at the ground stubbornly making him more eager to hear those words from her. He caressed her cheeks with his fingers and saw her closing eyes enjoying his touch, he knew she loves him dearly but he wanted her to stay it. 'Khanak, I know you love me, so why not you say it?' he whispered into her ears in a husky voice making her feet tremble. 'Look Shantanu, in Dulwadi only guys say it but not girls and I'm also from Dulwadi so I don't have to say it' she said to him when she could not bear his closeness any more.
Shaan released her from his held and stared at her in confusion 'Khanak, until you say it to me, I'm not going to talk to you or listen to you' he uttered the words with a bang on the wall with his fist. He stood there stunned on his steps thinking what could be done to make her say it to him. He needed to be stick onto his words this time and he would do as he told her; if she wants to ask or say anything she should tell him what he wanted to hear first.
Shaan led Khanak to the venue of the anniversary party of his mom and dad. Khanak hesitated to enter because of the number of people there but Shaan assured her that everything would be fine and she needs to have faith in him. Though Shaan was mad at Khanak he could not take his eyes off her; she was glowing like a star in the sky on a dark night. She has a smile on her luscious lips and her hair was laid open flowing around her shoulders, adding more into her beauty. Shaan drew her closer demanding her to say it to him while keeping her eyes at the same level as his as he was about to lose his patience. Khanak looked into his eyes in the dim light and saw his curiosity which she could not bear any more as she moved closer to him and said 'I Love You.' A huge grin appeared on Shaan's face when he heard her saying those three words to him and he ran onto the stage and sang a song just for her.
