Its sad that JWM did everything for her, when her most hardhitting performance was Chameli, without a doubt!
The way she talked, walked, the way she reacted, it was all so UNbebo like.
In real life, she's liek a total girly girl, a total lady. In chameli, the way she woudl give that callous laugh, or talk in crass language, even walk with her chest jutting out or legs far apart...what a transformation.
She didnt get her dues. Only got the critics award that year, not popular. Surprise surprise.
Also I remember htat year, there was an award called, "The best make over" for an actor. As in most shocking change. She was nominated....but Saif won for KHNH, lol!
What an unfair win!

^^lol..i think tht was something silly like filmfare motto look of the year....and saif n preity were nominated for KHNH....aah...filmfare and its stupid categories...lol...

well for me...being a bebo fan, the break through performances of bebo were Refugee, Dev, Omkara and Jab we met. But I would say JWM is her best because she showed that she was finally past her overacting days and could play such an OTT role with subtlety. She could have easily done a Khushi or MPKDH in Geet, but she didnt...and that speaks volumes about her progression as an actor...JWM showed us a brand new, polished and well-crafted kareena...Although I appreciated kareena in chameli, her performance wasnt effortless...u could see in some places that she was conscious or uncomfortable...and i thought she didnt suit the role because she always luked like someone who was well educated and financially well off which is prolly why she didnt luk the part of a cheap call-girl...it was a gr8 effort, but i felt the output could have been better...but in JWM, everything fell into place...the acting was gr8, the character suited her to the T and the script was fresh.....which is why acc to me, JWM was her most effortless performance to date, and hence, also her best.....

I saw AA today and I also found similrities, but very few.

The main similarity in the both movies is, Aditya and Akash both were failed in life. Another similarity is, Aditya said Geet to go back again into her life wher Akash also said the same to Kiara. There were many similarities between both of Aditya and Akash. But I loved Aditya's character more than Akash.

But there is no similarities between the characters Geet and Kiara. Geet's character was very sweet and was ready to share her thought with anyone even with a stranger. Geet was not amongst them who will go to suicide even after defeating in her life whereas kiara doesn't share her thoughts with anyone and was suicidal.

Kareena and Shahid became very popular after doing JWM. Priyanka and Ranbir can do nothing with this film. AA disappointed me big time.

yh thr wr similar in sum ways ! ..

Ranbir -Shahid - The quite serious types

PC- Kareena - the extroverts ............. but PC irritated me throughout the movie except during tose emotional bits ... many ppl say tht Kareena as Geet was overhyped .. but i thoroughyly enjoyed watching her .. atleast thts wat matters to me !😆

n the difference it was fun to watch JWM n while watching AA i was waiting for it to finish asap ! i was bored to death.

Totally agree about what you said that Kareena's performance that can easily go OTT but bebo carried it with ease! Because in that kind of role, it's very hard to know if you are overdoing it or not! And kareena did it perfectly! I remember when Imtiaz Ali saying that he liked how kareena performed in the film! He was like she knew when to stop herself and not go OTT! See that's where PC went wrong in AA, she didn't know when her acting was OTT! She hammed through the film esp in the comedy scenes and the overhyper kind of act scenes! A lot of cringe moments when you see her performance there!

PS and about kareena not having competition and getting lucky, please, Rani was nominated for a film! I can't recall the name of the film, but I thought Rani performed really well! She was def a tough competition for kareena! But I guess Rani's film was a flop, and plus come on How can Geet not win an award! Geet was special! First time we saw kareena not go OTT in an a role! Her performances was fresh! I guess thatz why Rani didn't win either! Because people were seeing nothing new from Rani's performance!

I felt both movies where so absolutely different.
Ranbir and PC's characted were both suicidal, messed up , disillusioned with life completely. I found both their acting superb in the movie and they potrayed this really well.
Kareena's character Geet was the life of the party, positive attitude etc. She did have a shock in life and lost that positivity, but nowhere in the movie they dealt with the subject of suicide or loss of self which was huge in AA. I felt the angst and suffering was very strong in AA. JWM was a much livelier and energetic film.
Anyway, I loved all four characters and their acting.
For that matter then, AA is like Hum Dil where Ajay plays Aditya and Akaash's role or AA is like Hum Tum where Saif is trying to cheer up Rani after her husband's death.

I dont know why people are even comparing PC and Kareena?! Both roles were completely different.

Geet was a loud character and she was someone who was happy all the time. On the other hand, Kiara was suicidal, but was also fun.. However, she was not loud like Geet. You really can't compare both characters.

I feel that both Kareena and PC did a fab job with their respective characters. Why does there always need to be comparisons?!
