Box Office: Endhiran falls short of Dabangg opening; Anjana Anjani drops out

As the dust from the opening weekend settled in, Chulbul Pandey Salman Khan still rules the opening weekend mark of India. Endhiran has recorded huge collections but they are concentrated in location. Secondly, despite the concentration, the overall scale of box office opening is not the highest ever for India in gross terms and not in percentage terms.


Because of the lack of organized reporting in Tamil trade, all sorts of figures get thrown early on but best general estimates are that in reality, Endhiran has had a Rs 55 crore-60 crore gross weekend from all its versions in India. Good enough for the 2nd highest of the season but falling well short of last month's Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg which on a lower percentage of occupancy recorded a Rs 70+ crore opening weekend gross haul.
