Deepika Padukone in remake of 'Amar Prem'?

Actress Deepika Padukone is being considered for the role of Sharmila Tagore in the 1971 hit 'Amar Prem', as a noted filmmaker is planning a remake of Shakti Samanta's hit movie.

Deepika tells, "I think it's a great compliment. I'd love to do a film like 'Amar Prem'. I want to do a classic Hindi-film heroine's part. That's my true calling. I'm really looking forward to it."

Deepika Padukone and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore will be seen together in the upcoming movie 'Break Ke Baad', in which Sharmila plays her mother.
"We had our dimples in common, and that broke the ice. She's one of the most elegant ladies I've come across," tells Deepika.

The movie directed by debutante Danish Aslam stars Imran Khan in lead role, along with Shruti Seth and others.
