I'm gonna discuss two or three things I've been thinking of, so please bear with me.
I was just wondering, once the DP track gets over, hopefully Kala's truth will be out too. So, then we have the FR and Dutta accepting Naku. What after that?!* yikes* I just realized that the show's gonna end once the FR happens. Not much scope for romance there. I want so much of romance between real Naku and Dutta that I don't care if they drag the serial just for the sake of it. It's just that I've dreamt so much about this moment. The time when everything is resolved and they're living happily ever after. I want to see the happily ever after happening! In front of my eyes! But LTL is one serial that believes in having a solid track. So, I doubt if they'll just have the LS happening. Hopefully, Dutta's enemies will increase, and we'll have a track where he tries to give up Dongiri and settle down as a common man. But heart of hearts, I want to see Dutta continue as a don. There is something so romantic about the concept, and the man! Sigh. And somehow I can see Naku as the perfect wife for a don. She's like Jhansi ki Rani, perfect for her man. He couldn't have found a better woman for himself!
Now coming to the TaSha romance…*ARGH*
I know the DP track will bring TaSha closer, but CVsssss..you could've let them talk in Friday's episode, na! That was so sad, Dutta trying to call out and then leaving before she wakes up. Man! There was something real poignant about the scene. LTL's special because of all these little things. You do not have all happy happy things happening here. There's no hero and heroine getting stuck in the rain(jungle, yes…but that was NECESSARY. And come to think of it there were no steamy scenes just because they were alone in the jungle at night). There's no hero who talks chikni chupdi baatein. There are no contrived situations, no pretending to hate each other, denying their feelings. It's just that LTL is so honest.
I remember watching LTL for the first time. It was somewhere in March, and the scene was that of Kala and gang trying to kill Supriya. The serial did catch my interest but the moment I realized Naku is the heroine, I was like W*H! I laughed along with my roomie at her bad makeup, and thought it was just another makeover story! I decided never to watch it again.
Well, I had to eat my words. 😃 Guess which was the episode that got me hooked? Guess, guess! Erm…I could say that it was a soulful scene that got me hooked, but I am as shameless as the rest of you. The scene that got me hooked was the one of Dutta shirtless, in the temple. I saw the guy get up and went *droooool* His height and attitude! Dutta's a guy who can make a girl go weak in the knees. Sigh.
So, that's how I started watching LTL. Thanks to the wonderful people here on the forum, I was able to piece the story together, and I did watch some of the important videos. But last week I went back and watched ALL the videos that had TaSha or either of them. And I must say, I was floored. When I first started posting here, I did mention that LTL is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. But the old videos, esp. Feb to April, make me wonder if it's just B and the B. There are elements of some other stories too. There's that chaand wala scene where Naku tells her mom that Dutta's the chaand and she'll love him even if he never loves her back. Then there was the scene where she tells him how he should stop drinking, and the scene where she brings food for him. The scene where she tells him to praise Supriya. And finally the scene where Dutta thanks her for doing all this for him, just after she prays to Bappa to give her all of Saab's sorrows and give him only happiness. It almost made me cry! Those scenes were so unhurried, so poignant. I mean, unlike other soaps where there's a mad frenzy to get the lead pair fall in love with each other even if it doesn't make sense at all! The Feb-March episodes seemed so sad. I mean, along with Naku we too felt that there was no chance of Dutta ever falling in love with her. Those of you who've read The Little Mermaid (the original Anderson fairytale) would know! The mermaid sacrifices her voice, and bears excruciating pain just to be near the prince, while he's oblivious to the fact that she is the One. I tell you, those scenes seemed a lot like the Little Mermaid story.
Gah. I'm rambling yet again. It's just that I'm so obsessed with LTL. I started watching it in one of the darkest, most depressing phases of my life. It's made me hope and given me faith. Because of which I've grown really attached to the characters, and their emotions. Just hope the CVs give me more to be happy about!
If any of this made sense, do reply! 😊
