The part where Harry meets DD in something like a purgatory, I didn't really understand that chapter....specifically what happens to Voldemort. What happened to his soul (the baby)? 😕

I wanna know what you guys thought.

Heyaa! i get wot u mean, i had to read that chapter slowly and then reread it again so understand it! LOL!
but what i figured from that chapter was that Voldermort had only actually made six horcruxes - The diary, the ring, the locket, the hufflepuff cup, ravenclaw's tiara, nagini..he wanted to make seven and that was his intention but he become too weak then so couldn't!
But unintentionally, without knowing he actually made seven horcruxes, when he killed the Potters and tried to kill Harry, part of his soul as it was so weak latched onto harry making him the 7th horcrux!
and so then when harry went to Voldermort himself intending to die to save everyone, the reason he didn't die was because Voldermort actually just destroyed the horcrux, the 7th part of his soul, making him mortal again which is why then Harry was able to kill him!
thats wot i understood from that chapter, it may not be correct but yhh!

That's what I have also understood.......Voldemort unknowingly killed the last piece of the horcrux that was within harry.......thus making himself mortal again........but one thing I found hard to accept is that Voldemort lost so easily to Harry? he was a powerful wizard himself......yeah it may be right that the Elder Wand will not listen to him fully as Harry was the original master of that wand......but still after all these time, Voldemort dying just because of a bounceback of his own kiiling curse is something which I found very hard to accept......the battle between them should have been portrayed a bit longer....that's what I feel.............

I think that baby is the part of Voldemort's soul that was in Harry🤢. When Voldemort tried to kill Harry at that time, Voldemort ended up destroying that piece of his soul.
At the time Harry was to have fallen n be unconscious, he seemed to have been transported to this King's Cross-like place where he was having a nice, long chat with Dumbledore while voldemort (aka the baby) was moaning in the background.😆.
Nevertheless a nice and unusual scene that makes an enjoyabe read.

The baby-like creature Harry sees at King's Cross is actually Voldemort's original, main soul - the soul in his own regenerated body. When Voldemort hits Harry with AK, the bit of soul in Harry is destroyed and as a result of their blood connection (Harry's blood with Lily's sacrifice in Voldemort which he took in the graveyard) both Voldemort and Harry fall unconscious and enter the limbo state. Harry's soul is whole and untouched as we see in King's Cross, but Voldemort's soul is heavily mutilated because of his murders and creation of multiple Horcruxes (a violation of nature), so that's what his soul now appears like. Also I think JKR mentioned that after his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in that form for eternity, unable to "move on" because of his evil acts.

I agree with most people here. That little baby is the part of Voldemort's soul that latched onto Harry. And it's in the state that it's in because it was created of a soul already maimed beyond belief. In killing Harry it's this part of his own soul that Voldemort killed, and Harry's soul survived because he was by then the master of the deathly hallows. I think that should just about cover it. 😊
