Dill Mill Gayye ends |
The show that began with the cute love story of two medical interns, Riddhima and Armaan played by beautiful Shilpa Anand and cool dude Karan Singh Grover underwent a lot of transformation. |
The character of Riddhima saw as many as three replacements, from Shilpa Anand to Sukirti Khandpal and finally to Jennifer Winget. Storyline too changed based on the feedback and new characters kept pouring in. But what remained constant was overwhelming response and craze among the loyal viewers of the show. Nothing under the sun could manage to shift their interest from DMG and their favourite couple Riddhima and Armaan. But as they say, every good thing has to end and so has DMG to too. The show is ending on October 15th and the news will obviously shock the ardent fans of Dr. Riddhima and Armaan. Says Shilpa Anand who essays the role of Dr. Shilpa, "Yes, the show is ending and its unfortunate. I never expected it to end so soon. When I was brought back, I was told that the track will now focus on the love story of Shilpa and Armaan as that's what the viewers had been demanding for. The said track was doing well and the TRPs shot up. But then the rumours started doing the rounds that the remaining three actors weren't happy with the focus being shifted to me and ganged up against me. As a result, the track changed and the show focused on the track of Armaan who became overtly possessive about an already married Riddhima, which didn't go down well with the audience and the track worked against the show. But the damage has been done and I don't think we can control it. The show that has always received great response from the viewers is finally coming to a closure." With the show concluding, the fans would finally want Armaan to get back with Shilpa. So what's Shilpa's take on it? "Viewers certainly can't expect Armaan to end up with a married girl as it's against their ideology and ethics. Being an Indian by heart, I too wouldn't advocate the idea of bringing back Armaan with Riddhima. But if you ask me, Shilpa too wouldn't want to end up with Armaan. She can't reunite with a man who is possessive and feels strongly for her own sister. This is unrealistic. Armaan has become a villain now and an intelligent and refined girl can't end up with such a man. Marriage has a great significance to Indian viewers and I too stand by the institution of marriage. So Riddhima and Armaan's unison could be dangerous for the show. It's entirely a creative decision to decide how to end a beautiful show like this", claims Shilpa. An upset Palki, creative head DMG said, "The news is indeed upsetting and all of us are disheartened. DMG was like this fragile baby and we all have worked hard to make it strong. The positivity on the sets has worked wonders for the show and it is for the support from the entire team and actors that we have sustained for so many years." Palki promises that the show is going to end on a happy note. Claims she, "DMG started on a happy note and will end as a happy show." Does she second Shilpa's view that it is Armaan and Riddhima's track that worked against the show? Refuting the claim, she says, "No, I don't think so." With the show that has entertained us for so long and had us engrossed and involved, we hope to see the two favourite couples reuniting. We surely will miss Armaan, Riddhima, Shilpa and Siddhant. We certainly are looking forward to a happy ending. |
