The Final Decision (Shaan ka faisla)
'Shantanu, I want to tell you something' Khanak called Shaan, who was playing games with his laptop. What does she need to tell me now, wondered Shaan. 'Khanak! I know you are going to talk about the friendship again. Please, Khanak we have already become friends and no more talks about it, Good night' he kept his laptop on the table and turned to the other side while adjusting his blanket.
Khanak closed her eyes trying to gather the couage to tell Shaan what was going on within her. He seems to be so close to her, but she feels that he is several miles away from her. Nevermind, let him sleep and the very next morning she is going to tell what he meant to her. She is going to reveal the feeling that was kept in her heart to him. She has loved him silently, worshipped him from a distance and she had dreamt of him being hers, only hers. She thought that he would find her love among the silence.
'Shaan beta, You have taken the perfect decision to marry Natasha, I'm so proud of you' Madhvi walked to the breakfast table and patted on Shaan's shoulder announcing the marriage of Natsha and Shaan. Sunil and Daadi glanced at Khanak who was looking at Shaan, shocked. Sunil rose from his chair and walked away from there. Khushboo and Madhvi stared at Khanak, who was sitting next to Shaan, trying to finish her breakfast. Shaan looked at Khanak, and saw the tears gathered into her eyes and said 'Khanak! Can you please bring my phone'.
Khanak stood up from the chair and ran upstairs into their room, banged the door behind her and leaned against it. 'Why? Why Shantanu? Why have you done this?' She could not stop the tears flowing over her cheeks at this point. She felt herself trembling with the thought of sweet dreams she has been seeing with him. 'What have I done wrong? I have always wanted Shantanu's happiness' She continued between her sobs, her body was shaking with anger and despair.
Shaan came upstairs and knocked at the door as he was getting late for office. Khanak wipped off all her tears and opened the door, offered his phone with a smile. 'Khanak? You wanted to tell me something last night, tell me about it now' Shaan came inside the room. 'Not...nothing....I wanted to say thank you for everything you did for me,' Khanak said quickly and tried to walk away from there.
Khanak was in Shaan's arms in the very next second as he held her wrist and pulled her towards him. She tried to free herself from him, lowering her gaze. Shaan lifted her chin with his finger and told 'so you feel happy that I decided to marry Natasha? Come on let's celebrate.' Khanak saw the pain on his face and the anguish he was going through when he said that to her. He wanted to go away from her, forever. She needed to tell him the truth before he marries Natasha. She wanted him to the know the whole truth, after that what ever decision he takes, she will accept it.
Shaan looked at Khanak's deep brown eyes and wondered about what was going on within her. Did she realize his feelings are for her only? Has she changed her mind? Damn it! What the hell was going on in her mind? He wanted to believe what he saw in her eyes, but she has already denied it and he wasn't ready to let his wounds to bleed again. He pushed her away when he could not bear it for any longer and walked away, closing the door of the room. 'I wish, you could believe what you see from my eyes' Khanak murmured, kneeling with the 'ganapatti' given by Daadi and closed her eyes, seeking help from Lord. She would wait for Shaan's decision, be it her or Natasha he chooses, she will accept it. She has to be strong to pass from this final test coming before her. She has to be patient.
Sunil sat in the bar waiting for Shaan, after dinner. He offered Shaan a chair and made him to sit comfortably before they talked. 'Dad, you called me?' Shaan wanted know. 'yes, Shaan, I asked for you. My son, as you are going to take an important yet difficult step in your life, listen to your heart rather than doing what your mind wants to do. Three lives are involved in this and I don't want the three innocent lives to be ruined with a single step you take. Sometimes, what your ears may hear lies than what you see from your eyes. Samajdharon ko ek ishaara bhi kaafi hai, Shaan' Sunil wished all the best to him and left the bar, giving Shaan sometime to think.
Natsha and Shaan walked towards the mandap and Madhvi frowned at Sunil angrily 'Sunil, see I have done everything for Shaan' she smiled at her success. Shaan's eyes searched for Khanak among the gathered people there. 'Khanak kaha ho tum? Please come here, I want to see you' his heart cried. The pundit asked Shaan to sit on the mandap and Sunil's words echoed in Shaan's head 'samajdharon ko ek ishara bhi kaafi hai'.
Shaan walked away from the mandap and told 'bas, ye shaadhi ab nahi ho saktha hai' he started walking through the crowd, leaving Natasha into an ocean of tears. She remembered how her happiness was ruined in the first place, when Khanak stepped in the Kandelwal house as Shaan's wife.
Shaan felt his feet attached to the ground with cement when he heard Khanak's voice ' Shantanu, where are you going?' She was looking at him, shocked. He dragged her to the madap and addressed 'today, infront of you all, I am going to ask my wife, whether she will marry me or not?' Khanak opened her mouth in surprise, let all her tears to fall and roll over her cheeks freely.
This is just a scene I wrote based on the new promo, doesn't mean this will ever happen in the serial.....but again, this is just my wish.....how I wish this would happen in the show.....
