It's comforting to know that I am not the only one who was getting frustrated with the constant barrage of negativity and criticism aimed at Pratigya ' from the way she looks to every single act of hers. I don't think there is any other forum on IF where the lead is butchered with such clockwork regularity. Mindboggling isn't it Relda 😕

One thing which always puzzles me is that if you have such deep-rooted disgust and disdain from the female protagonist of a show why would torture yourself daily by countenancing her aggravating routine on the small screen. I am sure that amongst the wide and diverse range of Hindi primetime soaps on display you would find choices to appeal every kind of psyche and preference.. Exactly 😕

I mean this show is named "Pratigya" for a reason.. the story is about her life journey through her perspective. That's why there is only her picture portrait on the title screen. That's why she is the USP of the show in every description and promo. And the show has climbed the pinnacle of success based on this premise, which as far as I can fathom has remained pretty much consistent from the point of inception of this show. A statistical majority of viewers obviously approve and applaud the vision, views, character development and story progression and obviously the leading lady to enable the show to reach the top. Otherwise, "Pratigya" would also have been consigned to the dark recesses of rejected shows and failed projects a long time ago. Based on the success of the show it is pretty obvious that the disdain and contempt for Pratigya's character is limited to very fringe section of viewers and does not have the critical mass to drastically overhaul the intrinsic foundation of this show. Which brings me back to the original point I was trying to make ' why expend so much energy on a show which thwarts your expectations and piques your annoyance? I watch Pratigya because I can identify with the lead character and the story, direction and set-up offers me enough satisfaction to be a loyal viewer of the show. These the only reasons why I watch this show, amazes me to see the new "A UNIQUE AVATAR OF A YOUNG MIDDLE CLASS GIRL" A RAY OF HOPE"". 👏 ⭐️ 🤗

Wild horses could not make me watch a show like PR with its wishy-washy, conviction-less and jelly-spined lead characters, much less spend time analyzing and dissecting its daily episodes.

Relda if I could I would have read your post personally to the team of Pratigya as they face commendation and criticism both, but majority who watches this show and helped it reach the great heights, has the same POV as yours. 👏

excellent post....................👏👏👏as always....................i am miffed at both pratigya and krishna.........
pratigya--------bec i was flabbergasted when she inquired krishna abt his 'naarazigi' at her was due to tha fact that she hadn't come to him to please him all the morning.........i mean hw could she ask such a question to her husband who is also a son and a brother and with so much happening in the house..........😕i really can't understand............and also instead of lecturing him about what's right and wrong she should take him to kesar and force him if need be to see kesar's sorry state and then put forth her points.............bec hw could she even imagine that krishna would know what is right n what is wrong when she very well knows that he hates 'kitabi baatein' as he calls it............. she shuld make him see what is reality instead of confusing him further.........nw we r going to see krishna supporting her only bec he thinks she needs her support, she is under a lot of pressure and all that........hw i hope he fights from the side of good and not bec pratigya is fighting for it...................
krishna----------bec of his hollow words abt the condition of kesar...........the only persons he care abt in the world is his bauji and pratigya........he is more irritated and angry at the shame the case will bring to his family than his mother and brother's ordeal(though i am not complaining😉)............i hope CVs shows pratigya polishing krishna to understand peoples feelings soon..............tha's urgent not only for him but for all others too...........

Thanks Relda!😳
Yes! The character of Pratigya is truly inspiring and well-etched. I find it amazing how right her motivations always are! Every rarely do we see a female lead who is so perfectly ethical, gutsy, forgiving and loving all at once! I love her character!
I adore Krishna too. And I think it so clever of the CVs to write in such a wonderful character and then show such a flawlessly nuanced graph of evolution. It makes the narrative so thrilling! A simply good vs bad story would have had less impact than this story of real change.
I think some of the forum becomes Krishna's ego for him. But the thing is Krishna is one character least in the requirement of having his pride salvaged; he is beyond that. The guy is so strong that he has the guts (pls substitute a more powerful hindi word here! 😉) to subvert his own pride. It is truly fabulous to watch. The lastest from SBS etc is more proof of the same. He is something else, that man!😳

This is exactly what I meant....Krishna ALWAYS puts his spouse first and foremost.... whereas Prats DOESN'T (and she should - learn from her hubby )....
all those who are advocating Prats 'gutsy' behaviour should remember that Prats has the cushion of a loving and indulgent hubby to take care of all the thorns in her path.....
HOWEVER THERE MAY BE A TIME WHEN HER ACTIONS WILL BLOW UP IN HER FACE.....
one more point... the show may be called "Pratigya" but it is Krishna who is the USP of the show without him this show would have tanked long back....
... this is entirely my POV, it is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings.....

Uma, you will excuse me if I say that I am frankly tired of this K vs P stance? I think the show is so well crafted to date, that I wouldn't do away with a single element, not even Piyasia. All good narratives need points and counterpoints to act as foils and I think the main protagonists provide this.
Pratigya's guts are an inherent trait and nothing to do with the character and caliber of her husband. We may love him, but the sun does not rise from behind his ear. 😃
There is a world of difference between K supporting P and P supporting K. The very fact that P has been brought into a hostile alien world and the fact that K is in his natural habitat should be enough to start with.
Yes, P has other priorities than K's happiness at all given times. That is as it should be. We cannot all secure the happiness of the ones we love the most at the cost of the desperately unhappy. Well, perhaps another kind of woman might be able to do this, but P is not that woman. K knows this and loves her for this. I don't know about you, but I love her too.
Also, whether P is his priority or not K has apparently stood by and had her ultimately thwarted by his family, and watched his criminal mother and brother walk out of jail and into the house. People act as they have to, given the compulsions of the circumstances. No couple, however perfect in their love, is actually an island.
