To Love Again - Part 23
It was at dawn he finally stopped the car to a river side. They heard the singing of the birds and cries of some animals that were alarming the people that it's time to wake up. Though the air was cooler there, they found relief from being in the center of a busy city. Maan has experienced the silence of the darkness before too, but haven't watch the enlightening of a day. He has been in the dark before she came into his life, being the ray of light that enlightened his dark life. He was tough and never wanted to experience the beauty of life till the moment she taught it to him. He should be thankful to her for everything she has done for him. For his family and for them.
Geet kept on walking and dancing freely with the music of the trees and the singing of the birds. She seemed to be free from all the burdens of life. For no reason she would be smiling and talking to her self. He observed her movements carefully. Seeing the happiness on her face his heart filled with joy. He wanted her to be happy forever. She explained the beauty of the morning sun to him. The morning sun brings light to the world and gives warmth for all, like how light brings happiness and liveliness into their lives. He watched how the sun lit the whole earth, slowly. First it appeared to be very little and as the time grew it increased.
They remained there watching the people started to travel across the river for their daily needs. He held her close to him, never wanting the bright sun light to catch her skin. He felt her hands onto her belly, feeling hungry. He offered her the crackers and juice he brought with him. He watched her lovingly when she ate the food and he wipped off her mouth once she finished.
He wanted to have breakfast some where out together. She pleaded him to take her to the dhabba where she enjoys the Punjab food. He refused as they won't be hygenic and she needed to be more careful with the baby. But as usual he kept all his weapons aside and agreed. He wanted to do everything in her own way because he wanted her to be happy for the baby now. On the other hand, Geet too thought about the caring and loving Maan was showering on her. She remembered the way he made love to her the previous night. He was so gentle on her as though she was a delicate feather to him.
Each passing day brought unlimited happiness into their lives. It was just a normal day at work when Geet felt something within her stomach moved. At first she thought she was hungry and her stomach growled for some food. She was so full then and ignored it, but she couldn't wait much longer. She felt something moving within her. She became nervous thinking that something bad was happening to her baby. She called Daadi, but she didn't answer the phone. She tried to call the doctor too, but his phone appeared busy at that moment. She leaned her head against the back of her chair in despair. A tear drop ran over her cheek and fell on her chest.
Maan walked into the cabin with Adi, discussing about the project they are handling in Pune. He Stopped at the door stunned. Adi's voice brought him to his senses 'sir, what happened?'. He shook his head and answered 'nothing.. Adi, you do a favour, wait in the meeting room, I will be back in a while'. Maan ran to Geet and wipped off her tears 'Geet, what happened? Why are you crying?'. Without a word she held him tight to her self. 'Maan, I'm afraid that there is something wrong with my stomach' She was still weeping. He pushed her away from him and asked what
was the matter 'Is it that your stomach is showing up finally?'. 'No, I ain't worried about it, it's something else' She made a face like a small kid. He bursted into uncontrollable laughter when she explained. 'what Maan?I'm so worried here, but you are laughing at me?' She asked. 'Geet..Sorry, but don't you know that it happens in pregnancy, the baby will move and what you felt was the baby moving...and I can't believe this, Geet! You always tell me what and what happens in pregnancy and you don't know this?' He managed to say within his laughter. 'hehe very funny' before she could move away, he tilted her towards him. 'So finally my baby started to alarm mommy, right?' he pressed a light kiss on her forehead and bent down to her nearly popping out belly. He caressed it lightly and placed a kiss saying 'this is for my sweet little baby'. Meanwhile, Tasha who came to meet Maan witnessed this and dragged Sasha near the window. 'Silly girl, Don't disturb me to watch these type of nonesenses again' Sasha warned Tasha. 'but Sasha, I mean Ma'am you told to watch every moment of Geet' Tasha wasn't in a mood to give up, but walked away.
Maan spent the whole day in excitement and tried to be with Geet most of the times. His curiosity doubled when Geet told that the baby's movements were increasing time to time. He tried to feel it, but the baby didn't respond to him making him more curious. Any ways, being Maan Singh Khurana, he wasn't going to give up soon believing that he has failed. He kept on eyeing her belly when ever possible. They finished the office and drove home without him succeeding.
While in the car Geet was mesmerized by his manly body and the perfect jaw lines, that made him look like a Greek god with a golden heart. He was concentrating on the road ahead, but her light touch on his face made him to stop the car at once. He looked at her thinking that something might have bothered her, but sighed by seeing her smiling at him. She nodded her head and gestured to move ahead. He started the car with a smile and kept on glancing at her every now and then.
It didn't take so long for them to reach home and he opened the door for her. Before she could step out he lifted her with his arms. 'Maan, put me down please, I might fall down as I'm heavy now' she tried to free herself from him. 'heavy? oh Geet, you can't be heavy for me to lift and carry you and I'm doing this for our baby, not for you ok' he reasoned out everything with the baby's name. 'good, very good, Baby hasn't arrived yet, so when the baby arrives both of you will drive me crazy with your excuses' Geet pinched his cheeks with her hands. 'Exactly..I won't give you a single chance to make my baby tired of listening to your non stop talks' he bit the finger she pointed at him. 'Ouch! Your baby? excuse me Maan Singh Khurana, it's not only your baby, it's mine..I'm doing everything for it' No one could ever make her to lose by words. 'excuse me Mrs. I'm doing everything for the baby, understand?' with that he put her down. She pointed at him again but Daadi's voice stopped her 'I'm so happy that you two came, We will have dinner together, right? By the way Geet, why did you call?'. Geet tried to change the topic but Maan wanted to tease her 'actually Daadima, some people feel that they know everything when they know so little'. Geet stared at him as if she would never leave him for what he was doing and told 'Daadi, I missed you so I called, but you didn't answer'. Maan opened his mouth in shock went upstairs leaving Geet and Daadi alone. 'So Geet, tomorrow you are going to the doctor, any problems you face right now?' Geet sometimes feel that Daadi was also not less than a doctor.
