Great update Grace.
I am really glad Heer told Raj that she wanted their relationship to a break. She really needs to think about where and what she wants to do with their relationship.
I am glad she is started going out with Prem. Their date was very sweet. I am glad Prem didn't rush into anything and is respecting Heer's decision.
Thank you for the PM. I can't wait to see how Prem and Heer's next date will turn out.

I know it must be really hard for Heer to decide what she wants to do with Prem and Raj.
Although he sounds like a great guy, Heer is right, Raj needs to open more to her.
As for Prem, well, one, Raj's punch really took me by surprise and two, when he told Heer that Raj is a nice guy and that he was ok with her choosing Raj over him really shocked me. But I wonder if Prem is really willing to let go off Heer so soon.
Looking forward to your next update Grace. Also can u please PM me when you have updated this story. Thank you. 😃

Hi Lisa!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah, Prem's really lying his cards all on the table to get Heer back...maybe a little bit of reverse psychology šŸ˜† says he's okay with it but doesn't really mean it.

so prem is confident in getting his heer back...!
i wonder how could raj just leave her like that....they were supposed to be in love na...and i agree too much freedom in relationship is not an ideal thing....
loved sanjana .ash and veera....good friends...!😊
and roshni....😔
loved the pros and cons...šŸ˜†

Hi Surya!

My Pros for Prem: everything about him Cons: nothing...haha...so hard not to show my bias when I was writing the pros and cons šŸ˜† I tried writing Raj to be the typical "good guy" the one that just seems perfect but because he's so perfect it's like his own flaw? I don't know if you watched I Have Luv Stories but I kinda based my Raj after that Raj in the movie. He was the typical "good guy".

Phew...just finished up some HW...but still have lots of reading to do šŸ˜•

Anyways thought I would be nice and post up the next part to this SS. I find I tend to write these chapters a lot faster than AWMARWs probably because the plot line in this SS is more straight forward unlike the other one which I've somehow let the plot line get a little out of hand 🤢

A BIG THANK YOU to those that Commented and/or Hit the Like Button! The time and effort you guys took to show your support for my work is very very appreciated! 😃 I've replied back to those that left comments.

Part 8: Forgiveness

"Hey girls!" Veera squealed with delight as walked towards their table extending her left hand for them to see.

"You look fabulous. That vacation really did wonders to you," Ashlesha teased.

"It's even more beautiful in person," Sanjana sighed with joy as she grabbed her friend's hand. "Where can I get me one that will give me one of these?"

"Congratulations!" Heer cheered giving her friend a tight hug. "By the way you really like great...there's a glow about you."

"Thanks girls," Veera smiled as she took her seat. "I had a blast on the cruise besides getting engaged of course."

"Do tell...explain how he did it?" Ashlesha inquired.

"Romantic dinner?" Sanjana asked.

"It was really quite simple really. Nothing super fancy. We were just on the deck watching the sunset and he just dropped down on one knee and asked me," Veera explained.

"Still a sunset proposal is very romantic," Heer said and took a sip of wine.

"I suppose," she grinned. "But enough about me...you," turning her full attention towards Heer, "what have you've been up to missy?"

"Nothing really," Heer replied shyly looking down playing with her silverware.

"Lair!" Veera teased. "You're looking pretty happy yourself. Despite my personal feelings about it...I want details."

"There's really nothing to tell. I've just been seeing Prem a lot lately," she replied.

"Heer, you've been seeing him for breakfast, lunch, dinner...tea time...um, snack time," Ashlesha said, "...any other times I'm forgetting?"

"Bedtime," Sanjana joked causing the other two girls to giggle.

Heer's mouth dropped open, "Sanjana! We haven't done anything since that night. There's been no hand holding, hugging, or kissing."

"Gosh, those must make for some pretty boring dates," Ashlesha replied. "Yet you two are seeing each other practically every day."

"It was under your suggest to spend some time with him," Heer said. "I have to weigh my options."

"What is your final verdict?" Sanjana probed.

"I don't know. It's been nice hanging out together. We're just talking...getting to know each other again. I forgot how good of a listener he can be," Heer replied.

"Sounds like your almost there," Sanjana replied thoughtfully.

"Well regardless who you choose I just want you to be happy and I really mean that," Veera said. "If it is this Mr. Prem Juneja you know I'll want to met him personally and give him a good grilling."

Heer laughed, "I can only imagine what you would do to him."

"So, shall we order?" Ashlesha asked. "I hear the scallops here are superb."

The girls all went about studying their menus and then called the waiter over to take their orders. The rest of the night was spent in playful chatting and gossiping.

************************************************************

Prem took a bite out of his chicken sandwich and chewed thoughtfully. He glanced over at his companion amazed at the way he was gorging himself with his sandwich and fries. "Preet, why are you eating so fast?" he asked.

Preet chewed quickly and took a sip of his drink before responding, "I had a fight with Meher last night. She wouldn't cook me breakfast."

"You could have made it yourself," Prem replied.

"She put a lock on the refrigerator door," Preet explained.

"She locked the refrigerator?" Prem repeated.

"Yea, she wrapped a chain around the handles of the doors and locked it with a padlock," Preet answered.

"Just what exactly did you say to her?" Prem asked.

"Honestly I have absolutely no idea. I think it's that time of month again and I guess I must have said something about her food and then next thing I know...I'm sleeping downstairs on the couch. I'm telling you man...they like to trick us with these questions we can't answer'their very crafty...it's like that question does this dress make me look fat? If you say no they don't believe you because they actually think they look fat and if you say yes, they think you think they look fat and then they hate you for it," Preet replied.

Prem chuckled, "I'm just wondering how you didn't hear Meher?"

"I sleep like a rock...can't hear anything when I'm out," Preet said.

"How are you going to fix this?" Prem asked.

"I hope with some roses and me groveling on the floor apologizing...though I have absolutely no idea what I'm apologizing for," Preet said. "I just hope it doesn't backfire on me. You know how they hate it when we apologize for something and we have no idea why we're apologizing but we are...and it just makes them more upset because somehow we are suppose to know why they were upset at us...we're not mind readers...how are we suppose to know what we did wrong if they don't tell us?" Preet frowned at his friend who was just laughing. "You think it's funny now but wait until you're married. It's a whole different ball game...this is when you're really tested in your relationship. You've got the in-laws to deal with...and you can't make decision by yourself anymore...she expects you to include her in the decision making process. And you use to laugh at the hen-pecked husband you would see in the park with his family...wondering how did he become like that...this is how...they just peck at us until we've got nothing left...the only thing we can do is nod our heads and say yes dear."

"Looks like the honey moon is over," Prem chuckled. "You've become a bit bitter."

"I love Meher with every ounce of my body. I'm just venting a little. I'll be the good boy and come home with the flowers like I said I would," Preet replied. "But enough about my issues...what about you? How are you and Heer doing?"

"Good," Prem simply replied.

"Good?" Preet said arching his eyebrow. "Just good?"

"We've been seeing each other a lot...talking and stuff. But I don't want to pressure her and make any sudden passes at her," Prem explained.

"Well you don't want to become just 'the friend'...someone she only comes running to, to talk about things," Preet said.

"Yeah, I know," Prem replied. "It's hard...I'm trying stay within my boundaries. It's her decision and I want her to make the move."

"I certainly hope your wait pays off for you," Preet said and then took another hungrily bite out of his sandwich.

Heer poured the pinot noir into two wine glasses and delicately set the bottle onto the coffee table. She took a deep breath and smiled at the scrumptious odors coming from the kitchen. She had invited Prem over to watch the Top Chef season finale marathon. In return for her invite he offered to cook dinner. "It smells great Prem!" Heer complimented. "What are you calling this masterpiece you're making?"

Prem chuckled, "Pan-roasted salmon with tomato vinaigrette...not really all that exciting of a name."

"Well, it sounds delicious. Is it almost done? Need any help with anything?" Heer asked.

"Nope, it's almost done. Did you bring the salad out?" Prem replied.

"Yes, got the salad and the wine. Oh, I guess I should turn the TV on," Heer said. "Too bad we have to wait until 10pm to see the finale."

"Yea, but it's kind of nice to see some of the chefs' dishes again," Prem said.

"Do you take notes on what they make?" Heer asked.

"Well, they don't exactly tell you the ingredients so it's kind of hard to guess how they make it. But I did get the Top Chef cookbook," Prem said as he carried the two finished dinner plates into the living room.

"Thanks," Heer replied taking one from his hand. "So is this one of the recipes from the cookbook?"

"No, it's Ted Allen's recipe," Prem said as he sat down on the couch. "Never tried it before so I can't guarantee how good it will be."

"Well," Heer said as she cut into with her fork and took a bite. She smiled, "It's perfect."

Prem grinned, "Thanks."

The two then settled down in their seats and turned their attention to the TV screen. They spent most of their time chatting about the episodes, what chefs they liked or didn't like, what they thought of the judges' comments, and most importantly the food. Eventually the season finale aired and the chef with the best dish won the season. Prem and Heer cleared their dishes away into the dish washer and then settled back down on the couch with some homemade chocolate chip cookies.

"Hope you don't mind the cookies...after such a great meal you made I feel kind of bad. I tried baking a cake but for some reason it didn't work out," Heer apologized.

"These are great Heer...don't feel bad. I like cookies," Prem replied as he took a bite. "And these are homemade too...that's pretty impressive."

Heer smiled, "Meher is such a sweetheart. I went over to her house two days ago and she was teaching me how to make red velvet cup cakes. Then Preet showed up and started licking the batter. We had to kick him out of the kitchen."

"Glad you guys are getting along," Prem grinned.

"Next week Meher's going to teach me how to make brownies," Heer replied. "Starting with the little things and working my way up."

"Well if you need a taster you know who to call don't you?" Prem playfully asked.

"Veera and the girls," Heer answered. She then laughed at the way Prem pouted. "I know...don't worry I'll call you."

"So, should we see what else is on TV?" Prem asked. The minute he finished his question they both lunged from the remote control. They fell onto the rug and began tussling over it. Heer was lying on top of Prem reaching for the remote that was inches above his hand. Prem smirked as he firmly clutched it in triumphant. "Haha...I win!" he shouted. Heer frowned and tried getting up only to be pulled back down in pain. Prem looked at her rather worriedly. "What's wrong?" Heer lifted her head slowly and he saw that some of her hair had gotten tangled around one of his buttons on his white cotton dress shirt. Prem carefully reached over and untangled her hair. He couldn't help but notice how close her face was to his. His eyes immediately locked into Heer's and he felt the growing desire to kiss her. He forced himself to break his gaze and quickly finished his task. "There you go," he whispered.

Heer sat back up feeling her heart racing in her chest. She thought for a brief second Prem was going to kiss her. She continued to sit there unaware that Prem was putting on his leather jacket ready to call it a night. She heard the sound of his keys jingling in his pocket and she glanced up confused at what he was doing. "So, um, thanks for inviting me over," Prem replied nervously. Heer got up and walked towards him. "I'll see you around right?" he asked.

"Stay," Heer simply said looking at him. Prem stared back at her trying to figure out what she meant. The last time they were at this junction she had asked him this time she wasn't asking she was telling him. Prem continued to stand there searching with his eyes trying to make sure if he was hearing her right. And then he got his answer as he saw Heer move closer to him and place her lips on his. Prem slowly closed his eyes and kissed her back. It was short but sweet. "Don't go," Heer said. "I want you to stay Prem."

He looked at her still slightly unsure what this meant. "How many kisses do I have to give for you to understand?" Heer asked. The corner of Prem's lips slowly curled into a smile when he finally understood her message. He hugged her tightly. "I promise you that this time it will be different...no crying, no fighting, no yelling..."

"Don't make promises you can't keep Prem," Heer said pulling away and resting her hands on his shoulders. "You know we're going to fight...I'm going to cry...and we'll both say stupid things to each other...you just can't leave me again."

Prem nodded his head, "I won't leave."

"Cause if you do," grabbing his collar tightly, "I swear I'll hunt you down and chop you into tiny little pieces," Heer threatened.

"I promise," Prem said and hugged her again. "Thank you Heer. Thank you so much."

"Now Mr. Juneja," Heer said rather seductively, "Come and show me how you really feel." Prem grinned as she gave him a loving but sensual kiss. The taste of sweet melted chocolate intensified the passion between them. Heer wasn't holding back as she teased him with her tongue. Prem felt like he was slowly going crazy. He could feel her hands moving underneath his jacket pushing from his chest upwards towards his shoulders making him slip the jacket off. "You naughty girl," Prem said against her lips causing her to giggle as she pulled him towards her bedroom.

"I love you," Prem simply stated.

"I love you too," Heer replied and deepened the kiss.

It wasn't long before a pile of clothes laid scattered on the bedroom floor. This night meant much more than satisfying a physical desire like they had done during that fateful stormy night. This time they were fulfilling their emotional needs and re-consummating their commitment towards one another.

************************************************************

Heer slowly opened her eyes as she felt a gently rubbing on her stomach. She smiled that he remembered their secret way of waking each other up. Before they set the rule he used to just shake her awake which wasn't exactly the most romantic way to ask for someone's undivided attention. She felt the soft touch of his lips on her bare shoulder and then his husky voice asking, "Are you awake?" Heer turned around and grinned placing her hand on his cheek, "Yes."

Prem smiled his hair hanging low on his forehead excluding a boyish charm but his muscular body told otherwise as he cuddled closer to her underneath the covers. Heer's body sighed in content as they made contact. She felt a peaceful calm lying in his arms; her heart beating steadily. But whenever he gently caressed her or kissed her forehead it speed up into a restless state. She marveled at how she could feel this way around him; peaceful yet restless at the same time. She was happy with the decision she made. Over the course of the week she found herself falling back in love with all the things she had fallen for when they first started dating. She even found new things about him to love; he was more relaxed and easy going and seemed to be a bit more patient with her. It was strange what four years had done to both of them; they matured a lot. Their views on relationships and life in general seemed to have moved closer in position than before. She knew Prem was waiting for a clear signal from her that she was ready to be with him. He tried not to make any physical moves on her. Sometimes their hands would gently brush against each other when they walked and he would apologize and quickly move away. Little did he know that she would sometimes do it on purpose just to see his reaction, which she thought was the cutest thing ever. "I'm sorry," Prem suddenly said breaking the serene silence.

"Why are you apologizing again?" she asked.

"I can't help it," Prem replied. "Everything I did---" Heer placed her finger on his lips. "I don't want to hear these words of guilt. I've forgiven you. I just want us to move forward."

Prem nodded, "Forward," and placed his forehead against hers. "I just want you to know how much you mean to me."

"Don't just tell me," Heer said. "Show me."

"Show you?" Prem replied with a smirk.

Heer chuckled knowing where this was heading. It wasn't exactly what she meant. He had to show her by his actions that he was committed to this new start. It wasn't enough to just say 'I love you' or make love to her; he had to prove to her through other means what she meant to him. If she was ready to give her life to him again than he had to do the same for her, it was the only fair thing to do. "That's not what I meant," she said.

"I know," Prem grinned. "But I still want to show you."

"Oh, you do...do you?" Heer replied mischievously.

"Very much so," Prem whispered and began tantalizing her with his lips. Heer giggled and pulled him on top of her to enjoy another demonstration of love.

************************************************************

Prem opened his eyes to a clear white ceiling and stretched his tired muscles. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he recalled the night's events. The way things had turned out was beyond what he had hoped. Prem glanced to his left and found an empty space much to his disappointment. He sighed as he sat up and stared at the floor searching for his clothes; everything seemed to be there except for his shirt. He scratched his head and frowned wondering where it could have gone. Prem glanced at the door the minute he heard the sound of soft footsteps heading towards the room. He grinned seeing Heer wearing his white dress shirt. It was just long enough to cover what it needed to cover but still short enough to entice him. Prem rested his cheek in the palm of his hand and admired how sexy Heer looked in the cotton shirt with her hair loosely pull back into a messy hair bun.

"Morning," she greeted him as she came into the room carrying a breakfast tray. "It's nothing fancy...just scrambled eggs, some red pepper hash browns, toast, and fruit. Breakfast in bed okay?"

Prem grinned, "Love the idea." Heer placed the tray legs down on the bed while Prem steady it with his hands allowing her to climb back onto the bed. "Looks great. I'm starving," he replied.

She giggled at his comment. "You're always starving in the mornings."

"I'm even more famished after the work out from last night," Prem replied with a wink.

Heer rolled her eyes and stuffed piece of buttered and jammed toast into his mouth. "Just eat Prem."

He obediently chewed and then said, "So where's my morning kiss?" Heer smiled and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "That's not what I meant," he grumbled.

"You'd think I want to kiss your stinky breath in the morning?" Heer asked.

"Already so demanding," Prem pouted. "I'll go and brush my teeth right now."

"Stop moving around you're going to spill everything," Heer reprimanded as she held the breakfast table in place.

"How am I supposed to get out then?" Prem asked staring down at breakfast tray that lay above his thighs trapping him.

"I don't have time to play, Prem, you're going to make me late for work," Heer answered.

"Work? Right, I forgot today's Thursday. For some reason I kept thinking it was the weekend," Prem mused. "So can I see you after work?"

Heer smiled, "Of course. But I have to go grocery shopping. I didn't really get a chance to yesterday."

"We'll go grocery shopping then. I'll pick you up from work?" Prem suggested.

"Are you dropping me off?" Heer inquired.

"It's the least I can do for the breakfast," Prem smirked. Heer smiled and stuffed a strawberry into his mouth. He leaned back against the headboard and sighed happily as they continued to eat breakfast together.

************************************************************

Heer puffed her cheeks out staring at the different brands of macaroni and cheese the pasta aisle had to offer. "You waiting for some divine intervention to tell you?" Prem asked standing behind her. She turned around and stuck her tongue at him. "No, just that there are too many choices...should I stick with the Kraft classic...or go with Velveeta...or try the supermarket's brand which is a lot cheaper?"

"How about the SpongeBob Square Pants shaped Kraft Macaroni and Cheese?" Prem sarcastically suggested. (*Here are some links to check out if you're not too familiar with SpongeBob or the Marconi and Cheese product

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpongeBob_SquarePants

http://brands.kraftfoods.com/thecheesiest/)

"No," Heer replied with a frown.

"Ahhhh come on, who wouldn't want to eat a cartoon character in a shape of a square and his purple starfish friend. Did they put any color dye in it to make Patrick purple?" Prem asked.

"No," Heer replied.

"Well, they should...I think the kids would like it. Let's try a box," Prem suggested.

"Prem, put that back," Heer said as she tried grabbing it from him. "I can't believe you're actually going to buy that. Don't you make your own Mr. Top Chef?"

"Hey, even I get lazy sometimes," Prem replied as he moved the box out of her reach.

"Don't you dare put that in my shopping cart," Heer warned and began jumping around trying to get the box back. Prem smirked and just grabbed her around the waist. "Ssstop Prem...hehe," Heer laughed as he started tickling her. "Pppeople are ggoing tttoo sstare..."

"So let them stare," Prem whispered into her ear.

"Hehe...oook...if you wwant it-it...ahaha...ssooo bad," Heer relented unable to take anymore.

"It's okay I never really wanted it in the first place," Prem replied as he stopped tickling her.

Heer caught her breath and playfully punched him on the shoulder, "So that was just to annoy me?"

Prem pulled her closer, "What do you think?"

"Stop flirting with me in the pasta aisle," Heer replied.

"Okay," Prem said rather reluctantly and let her go.

"I'm going with the Velveeta," Heer announced as she dropped a couple of boxes into the shopping cart. "Now onto some regular pasta and sauces." Prem quietly followed behind her pushing the cart. "Any thoughts on pasta sauces?" Heer asked as she grabbed a couple of generic store brand spaghetti noodles.

"Anything is fine as long it's not Ragu. That stuff is disgusting," Prem replied. "It doesn't taste good no matter what you do to it...add in extra pepper, other spices, vegetables...it still tastes horrible...and you can't even boil it down to thicken the sauce up."

"I'll stick with my Prego then," Heer replied.

"Oh, wait before I forget," Prem said as he pulled out his wallet. "I got coupons."

"Since when did you start cutting coupons?" Heer asked.

"When I went back home to change I saw that I still had the Sunday paper lying around. So I went through it to see if there any good coupons for you," Prem replied.

"Thank you," Heer smiled taking the coupons from him. "Oh, I forgot to get some corn...could you?"

"For a price," Prem smirked. Heer gave him a look but went ahead and gave him a peck on the cheek. "It'll cost you more than that." Heer complied and kissed his other cheek. Prem beamed a satisfied grin and said, "I'll be back."

Heer grinned at Prem's behavior and then went back to browsing the aisle. She noticed a new pasta product and wanted to inspect it in more detail. As she reached into the shelf she accidently knocked a couple boxes to the ground. When she bent down to pick them up she noticed two hands already there helping her. Heer glanced up and saw Raj standing with a grin looking at her. "Raj..." was all she was able to utter.

"You're looking great," Raj smiled showing off his dimples. "I was hoping I'd run into you. I've been thinking about you this morning wondering what you've been up to. I've really missed you." Heer stared at him suddenly feeling a rush of guilt stream through her body. She couldn't say anything and the next thing she knew he was hugging her tightly. She didn't know what to do and just stupidly stood there. Her eyes were glancing about her and then in the far end of the aisle she saw Prem. He was holding a package of corn that she had asked him to get. Her eyes stared out wondering what he was thinking. Her heart sunk as she saw him turn and walk away.

Hope you enjoyed that. Sorry jumping a little bit. This is a SS so I didn't want drag out things more than necessary and honestly couldn't figure out what other things Prem and Heer could talk about on their dates and show their slow progression in their relationship so I just decide to jump ahead...haha...can't complain I hope PH romance and all...more romance to come 😳

awww, this was uber sweet!! 😳😳 I kinda feel sorry for Raj but he can have Sanjana as a consolation price šŸ˜† they're both very nice and it's only natural for the nice people to end up together after being a little hurt along the way šŸ˜† the Prem in this fic deserves brownie points!! who doesn't want a guy that cooks? 😳 ahh, I absolutely love it!! Continue soon 😃

P.S. I think Prem just moved away so Raj wouldn't have to see him, I just love the way he's matured here 😊 find me a real PJ and I'll get married, no questions asked šŸ˜†
