Ok ..

I need to know. this is the first time I am seeing that... during marriages the saas stays behind?????

I was re-watching the show, earlier episodes

Why did Rano and Badima Not attend the wedding?

and same goes with OBS Rano there and Baroma didn't attend Ishan's wedding too

Is this a custom?

cause every movie/episodes I have seen in Hindi serials the mother of the groom is always present.

Can some one elaborate?

I had asked the same question long time back and someone said it was because Shruti Ulfat was very unwell during those wedding scenes. I don't think they gave any justification for Rano not being at the wedding in the serial though...😕

I think it might be a tradition cause if shruti was sick then why was rano from OBS and the baro ma from OBS didn't attend Lolita and Ishan's wedding???

Ok then you know what I thought?

the scene of Ramayan came to my mind... where all the wives of Dashrat stayed behind for the wedding of ram, laxman, bharat and shatrugn even though Dashrat attended the wedding. The wives (queens all three of them) were waiting to welcome the brides and grooms at the palace doors.

So I was like hmm may be its a long lost tradition

what say u guyz?

I've actually only gone to like 2 weddings in my life so far (21 going on 22) so I don't know much about the mother attending the wedding. But as far as I know the bride or groom's mother don't attend the pre-wedding things at the other's house (if that makes sense). Bride's mother doesn't go to the groom's house and vice-verse for any of the pre-wedding function things.

Besides that I only know that there is nothing like the mother not being able to go to their son/daughter's wedding in the Sikh religion.

Don't know much about Hindu weddings, never been to one.

Well the actress was sick so she wasn't there..but I never really understood why! BM, maybe because her husband left her?
I know it's supposedly inauspicious for widows to be present at weddings, so maybe becuse her husband left her it's inauspicious for her to attend teh wedding?

I found that weird too.. Usually all the family members are present at the wedding..and they dint give an explanation for that in the show either, that is if it was a custom.. Coz all the weddings I have attended personally or seen on tv/movies till date, this was the first time grooms mom did not attend ! 🤔

the place where I belong to..i mean my native place.. in UP...

its the same there...if the son is getting married...only the male members of the family go in the baraat... the females stay at home... of course things have changed now... but in interiors and all its still the same... mother-in-law, bhabhis etc all stay at home...

but it doesn't happen in cities and all..and definitely not in Delhi!

are they like bengalis?

See I was thinking there must be a tradition- a forgotten one- that is not that popular.

Cause the bengali version of SGP the mom didn't go too as I mentioned earlier!

So like what kind of religion (hindus yes but i mean inside caste etc) are they ? Just out of curiosity I am asking. This is the first time I am actually seeing it... (besides ramayan that is as I mentioned earlier)
