NEIL'S PERFORMANCE
Abhi comes home to pick Simi. The romance here was sweet and simple. Abhi splashing water on Simi from his wet hair, the what's up query at her, happiness that a surprise is being planned, the request for a glimpse of the impending surprise was a hint to her, the way he taps on the bed when she leaves him, was sweet enough. Abhi looked comical when he said he wants to dance full tone filmy style and breaks into a jig imitating yesteryear Jeetendra (What an actor to pick to imitate dancing style : that was really funny). I have to say here I tried assuming how the scene would have been if any other actor (in Zee or other ) attempted it?(Thanks Krisha for the advise) No, never ever close to this convincing performance

Abhi's wonder when Simi stops him, pulling her legs in return commenting her look which can never be that of Deepika Padukone who is a svelte figure with curves intact and of course short length costumes. The casual chase oblivious of the surrounding made one feel that away from the madness of 12/24 KB, this couple really turns young without life's miseries and burden on their shoulders. The realization of being in public place, the admiration for each other during the wait for the room keys, definitely conveyed the enhanced chemistry that the actors share to make us believe Abhi and Simi are a couple in real.

The happiness of being alone and celebrating Abhi's birthday was seen in both their eyes. Abhi confessing it's his best birthday ever, Simi admitting that she wishes everyday to be his best (does she even realize she is the cause of all the misery surrounding him), and telling him she is thankful that he came into her life(Simi here: Better late than never). Abhi hinting at Simi and Simi refusing him did not need dialogues between these two actors. Well that's what makes Neil and Smiriti special and the best for us.

Abhi's lazy good morning next day, requesting Simi to get back early, gulping the laced juice down, slowly losing balance on walking when the drug was taking its toll. I made my friend (who does not know the story) watch this scene and she commented he appeared drugged and I was hoping if she could tell his body language from drugged and drunken. And so the vote goes to Neil here to make the onlooker realize he is drugged and not drunk. So the body language needs a special mention here. Falling flat on the bed, smiling away thinking its Simi beside him (Poor creature) there appeared a tear in the corner of his eye when he looks up once in the midst of this. Whether this was a conscious effort in the scene I have no clue. But when a person is sick or tired, one has tears dried up in the corner of their eye. Whatever it may be, it looked genuine.

Mili's wailing waking him up, Abhi's where am I, the unbalanced gait, initially holding Simi for a support, complaining of a splitting headache, trying to recollect things, innocently admitting he cannot forget the fragrance of Simi's perfume that's his favorite, it was excellent emoting . Slow realization what Mili is accusing him of, the way he asks Simi to look into his eyes showed his confidence in her that she will be able to read the truthfulness in his eyes. One look into his eyes, the tears and the direct gaze at her is proof enough to make his wife and us viewers understand that a person cannot look straight into your eyes if he or she is guilty in any way. Neil's eye expressions made us viewers also feel with Abhi in his pain. The relief when Simi slaps Mili was the reassurance that he has his wife's confidence, silently watching the ongoing drama of Mili, the tiredness with which he sits down on the bed was a total look of disbelief at what had happened. He blamed himself for not been able to differentiate Simi from Mili . The way Neil had mouthed the dialogue, chaahe mai kitni bhi nashe mei rahoon, mei use'.tum kaise samajh baitha. The voice modulation he used for "useh" was with disgust, and with "tum", since it was referring to Simi, the immediate love and softness in his voice was absolutely great. Again the love for his wife in spite of all this, he asks her to forget everything since she is finding herself responsible for everything( Here I was thinking 'Abhi, let Simi feel and repent for the mistake. IT IS HER MISTAKE. )

Today's episode, Neil had no dialogues. Right from appearing to be guilty of the accusation, the utter disbelief when RS slaps him, the way he looked shocked when Simi holds him by the collar, all expressions alone. When Mili stps simi, Abhi's look was suggesting that ..Yes, this is what I am expecting too. When Mili questions him if he does love her and goes close to him he appears annoyed still but Abhi is a little taken aback since he knows to what extent Mili could go and if she does at least he is going to be ashamed in front of the rest of the family if not Mili,. When Mili blurts out'Main tumhare bina jeekar bhi kya karti'it was an expression of disapproval, when Mili is caressing his face, his expression has been as though he is putting up with disgust, the way he looks at others in the room was just standing in silence to make others realize, the controlled anger when she hugs him, his anger and shock when Mili says whatever she has done so far has been for getting him, because he knows that she tried to burn Simi, left him running like a mad soul by buying the rat poison, telling him on phone that he ca never hear from Simi again. The remorse and anger that he has piled up over these days, all put together made him push her away from him and that too with confidence and surety, the way he looked back in anger as he walked away suggested to Mili''Now you cannot deny your sins. The way he moved away, stood next to Simi and held her hands and a stern look at Mili was a statement to her'.I love my wife and I shall be only hers forever. Nothing you do can do us apart.

Neil never spoke a word today. But his eyes, body language and expressions spoke volumes. Now what more can you expect from such a gifted artiste. What I may pen down today is just short of words to appreciate and enjoy this fantastic actor's one other brilliant performance.

Really, may god bless him and it's a wish from the bottom of my heart that he achieves scales of excellence throughout in his career. Neil with his performance definitely leaves most of us here speechless.

SMIRITI"S PERFORMANCE

Smiriti did get a chance to prove her ability as an actor. Very rarely she is utilized to her full potential. The doubts about missing Abhi, Mili's words, all done well. The shock of finding a knocked down Abhi because it's confusing her as to why he is here, sleeping that too, the way he gets up unable to stand by himself, her silent question to Mili when Abhi is asking what Mili is doing in the room, her looks for reassurance that all is well since Mili continues to shed her crocodile tears, the shock when Mili says he misbehaved with her, the way Simi obliges Abhi , looks into his eyes and gains the confidence and decides to confront her because she already has enough proof with her.

Simi slapping Mili for what she has done, the anger with which she says she did have a misconception but it was about Mili herself, the pain with which she says that she has shattered her trust and confidence in her sister, the crocodile tears made her fight with "her" Abhi for Mili's sake, because Simi by now has realized all that Mili has done right from trying to burn her also. The fire in her eyes when she told Mili''Mujhse suhaagan puja rakhwaayi, hotel mei mere naam ka do room book karaya, pooja ki thaal se tumne mera mangalsutra churaya, tum mere kamre mei, mera perfume lagakar Abhi ke saath kya kar rahi hai Mili? There would have been more punch to the dialogue if she had asked'Mere kamre mei, mera perfume lagaakar, mere pati ke saath kya kar rahi hai?.

Her resent about this incident, throwing Mili out of the room with such clarity in thought, quickly attending to Abhi who is already shattered at the incident (Poor fellow can't really digest the thought that his SIL has attempted to seduce him). Her realization that she has been wrong all through by not believing Abhi when he hinted that Mili did not change, her tears of remorse (don't really know how long this realization sticks to her) and decision that they need to reach KB before Mili's screwed up brain plans the next disaster showed a confident Simi. (Touch wood I should say'keep her this way)

The game plan, Simi feeling bad when RS slaps Abhi, yet the patience to enact the plan, the tears to make Mili believe, the false anger at Abhi holding him by his collar and the heights of attempting to hit him was all enacted really well. When Mili intervenes, it was a sigh of relief for her that she has forced Mili to react so that Abhi is proved right, at the same time she has a sad and painful look when Mili continues to talk to Abhi and hugs him in front of everyone.( I was thinking here...Hello girl Simi herself has never hugged him caressing his head...Gosh this girl...). That moment was the dilemma of a wife who knows her husband is innocent but also as a sister who feels sad for her at the turn of events. When Manju drags her out, its Simi who feels sad and is crying in spite of all that she has done to her. When will this girl ever change? How can she still feel sad for her in spite of all that Mili has done to trouble her, malign her husband's reputation? It was good Abhi held her hand tight preventing her from going to Mili's help when she was dragged out.

Smiriti here at her expressive best. She had lot of dialogues and the rest including Abhi were silent spectators. Good luck to this extremely talented actor. Not once she comes across as a newcomer to this acting profession. All the best and good wishes to Smiriti.

awesome post mesimi. we can't say enough about both. Neil is a good actor and smrit has come long way outstanding performances in the 9th sep and 13th september. She prived herself to be very strong yet drama queen image . She held on till she was requred and did right by exposing her sister. She played the lead in the drama and did it well.
Neil is just too good at everything he does. He wil shine at any role given to him. may that be a babootar, angry young man, loving husband brother jiju and son.
