Dabangg should get an opening on par with many blockbusters of recent times. I have not known any film to carry this kind of buzz. Everyone as in everyone wants to see this film. Chulbul Panday, Salman Khan's character, has taken the nation by storm. I personally think that Eid is to Salman what Christmas is to Aamir. For three years running, Aamir captured the Christmas audience with his Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3-Idiots. Salman had Wanted lasted Eid and this year he has Dabangg.

Dabangg should get a fabulous initial, one of the best in current times. In fact, I can say it will rock. Salman Khan is at his entertaining best and from the time the first promo broke, the craze has increased manifold. The girl Sonakshi Sinha has tremendous promise. The music is a chartbuster. If you have three super-duper songs in an action-filled masala film, the film is bound to go places. Where is the doubt in that? After Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai, that released on July 30, there has been no straight hit. Peepli Live did well, but it was for a niche audience. Dabangg is different. It's for all ages and will cut across segments.

Dabangg will have the best opening of any film in Salman's 20 years long career. The film has the perfect mix of action, songs, freshness and trade buzz. Everytime a new song broke, I felt the craze for the film going up. Now it has reached a crescendo.
With Eid and Ganpati following each other, even the Gods are in favour of this film because it can actually break the drought that the industry has been suffering for the last few weeks. People are starved for a superstar, fun-filled venture and Dabangg has BLOCKBUSTER written all over it.
