And so we begin...the first day, the first stunt, and the first elimination. There were some random thoughts running through my head while I was watching, just thought I'd pen them down here as well, in random order. And might I also add beforehand, that this is completely my opinion, and you're all most welcome to disagree.
The first stunt looked okay, in terms of difficulty level. But then the age old adage seemed to come into force quite suddenly : Never judge a book by it's cover. Never judge a stunt by how easy it looks. The water was COLD, and the task was not nearly as simple as it seemed. Because everyone had a hard time. Well done to all those who cleared it! ๐๐ผ
When PC called out Milind Soman as the first contender, I was so sure he'd ace this task. Swimming's his strength, and one would expect this to be his territory. Unfortunately, it turned out pretty different. Everyone's got their own issues, and with all due respect to them, I just wish he'd tried harder. That's what really got me more than his not being able to pull the stunt off. The fact that he just stood there, most of his attempts being pretty feeble. And he gave up too quick. Fair elimination, then.
Rahul Dev...another surprise. I thought he'd manage at least one, but well. At least he tried. I hope he does better tomorrow.
Cyrus Broacha...I never thought he'd even give it that good a shot, and try so hard. But he did, and it made me very happy for some reason. There's more to him than his funny-ness, and I hope the next few stunts show us a bit of that too.
Armaan Ibrahim...I personally thought he did pretty well. And pretty quick too. A little bit more of an effort might even have got him close to Ritwik. But well, nicely done. From not knowing who he is, I've gone to being pretty interested in seeing how he does.
Manjot Singh...Mishaps aside, one has to admit he tried very, very hard. And I appreciate that. Hope he gets his act together more cleanly in the next stunt!
Ritwik Bhattacharya...What a performance! All five weights! And you have to hand it to him not just for his physical stamina, but for his strategy. One dip and four weights in a row, instead of one weight per dip, which is what everyone else did. Awesome, dude!
Dino Morea...He tried hard as well. Although I was expecting a bit more from him. But, well done. Hope he does better in the next stunt!
Karan Singh Grover...Well tried and done in the first go. Although I was hoping he'd go in for more. Maybe he had the same idea as Rahul Bose running through his head. Did well, nevertheless. Looking forward to seeing how he does tomorrow!
Rahul Bose, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Abhishek Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Terence Lewis...good job, well tried!
Whopper of the Day : Ritwik Bhattacharya. The man deserves a round of applause. Seriously brilliant! ๐
Shocker of the Day : Milind Soman. Should have tried harder, it's not something he absolutely couldn't have done. ๐ณ
Pat on the Back of the Day : Armaan Ebrahim...I see some serious potential there. And Cyrus Broacha...just for trying so hard, and being so sporting. Do better next time! ๐
Sorry if I've missed anyone out. Just wrote out what came to mind. No offense meant to anyone, they're all doing well so far. Would love to know what you guys thought too...
Cheers! ๐
