J.K. Rowling Hosts Charity Ball Fundraiser for MS

Previouslywe told youthat Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling would be hosting a gala ball as a fundraiser for charity. The ball was held tonight at Stirling Castle in Scotland, and you can now see some press photos of Jo at the ball (looking absolutely gorgeous too)via this link. Actor Robbie Coltrane, who plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter films was a guest at the event tonight as well. Anearly reportsays that "Live music was being provided by Abba tribute band Bjorn Again, with live opera from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama's Vocal Fusion. " Jo , who is a patron ofMS Scotland, hosts this annual event in order to help raise funds for the battle again Multiple Sclerosis.

Harry Potter Actors Mentioned in "Premiere" Magazine

The new issue of Premiere Magazinecontains a list of the 100 Greatest Performances of All Time, and includes several of the actors who also star in the Harry Potter films. Included on this list are:

75. Julie Christie(Madame Rosmerta) for her role as Diana Taylor in the movie Darling
62. Gary Oldman(Sirius Black) for his role as Sid Vicious in Sid & Nancy
61.Ralph Fiennes(Lord Voldemort) for his role as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List

52. Emma Thompson(Prof. Trelawney) for her role as Miss Kenton in The Remains of the Day

HP Cast Members' Films to be Screened at Tribeca Film Festival

Several Harry Potter cast members' recent films will be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, which will take place throughout Manhattan from April 25 - May 7, 2006. Land of the Blind, starring Ralph Fiennes, was one of the 169 films announced for the festival yesterday. Driving Lessons, starring Rupert Grint and Julie Walters, and Snowcake, starring Alan Rickman, were among the 60 additional films announced by festival organizers today.

Bid for signed copy of GOF

Blackwell, The Knowledge Retailer, has donated a first-edition UK copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, signed by several GOF cast members, to the National Literacy Trust. The Trust's children's literacy initiative, Reading Is Fundamental, UK (RIF), motivates children in deprivation to develop an interest in reading and donates three books to over 20,000 children annually. The book is being auctioned until March 21st on eBay, so hurry and place your bid!

Misplaced OOTP script recovered

A trucker, Colin Kemp, recently stumbled across a script for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie on a slip road just outside Chipstead. He was apparently shocked to discover the highly confidential document and promptly handed it over to The Sun. Last week, Warner Bros. reported it missing after an employee conceded to misplacing it. According to a WB spokesman: "We are very grateful for the safe return of our script. Obviously, we take the security of our Harry Potter scripts very seriously and informed the police immediately when one was misplaced."
