GEET latest status on FB:> "What will happen if/when Geet has the baby?"

I have noticed that there are so many answers from everybody, but all these answers are essentially from three different point of view:

1. There is a group that believes (or hopes) that Geet may not be pregnant after all, and she may find out it was just a false alarm ... so that the "romance' between Maan and Geet can remain undisturbed and there will not be a baby to confuse him and hurt her prospects of marriage with him.

2. There is another group that believes there is a baby for sure, but if it gets conveniently aborted or miscarried or something, then again (as above) the "romance' between Maan and Geet can remain undisturbed and there will not be a baby to confuse him and hurt her prospects of marriage with him.

3. There is a group vehemently against any abortion or miscarriage drama because they do not want such violence against the "baby" just in the name of preserving the romance. They feel romance can and should be there between Geet and Maan even with the baby in the picture. They believe Maan must show even greater love to Geet by loving her and her baby.

Friends, I wanted to write this post because I feel that the baby is not just incidental to this story, but VERY VERY IMPORTANT to the whole story of this serial, and without this baby, the whole serial will just deteriorate into another ghissa pitta serial. Here is why:

The story of GEET serial is according to me primarily a story about:

a. A girl Geet, who is wrongfully exposed by her family to a cheat, and her sham marriage even produces a long-lasting effect in her life as a result of the cheat making her pregnant, and she then decides not to lose that baby which is more her own flesh and blood, even if it was created in her by the cheat.

b. That girl meets a man, Maan, who is truly a man with the moral courage and his own tremendous guts (to support such a woman with courage). He decides that she is so important to him that come what may he will "never let her unhappy past ever come near her again" and that through thick and thin he will defend her and protect her. Whether the baby is dicovered later to be caused by his own brother or another man is not as much the issue. The fact is that Maan is such a strong man that to him Geet (and her child) is more important to than the social stigma of her situation.

c. While both of them are such strong gutsy characters, they are also young people deeply in love ... so they both always worry that their own situations should not affect the life of the other one. Geet will always worry that her past may spoil Maan's life, as Maan will always be conscious that his actions should always protect her first even if it means a cost to himself.

These three points above according to me is the whole gist of this Geet Serial. With this in mind, I am now seeing the serial unfold in this storyline prediction below:

PRESENT PHASE: THE IMMEDIATE STORYLINE:

Both Geet and Maan will get to the stage when they discover and accept that they love each other. Geet will decide to reveal to Maan about her pregnancy and the sham marriage she was forced to go through.

Maan will similarly declare his love for Geet despite her situation and say that any child of her is a part of her – and he will see it as his love for her to protect her and everything that is hers, including the child.

Now after they thus decide to support each other, a series of "reality checks" of their situation will really start hitting them both hard from all directions as a test of their true love. The whole serial will thus become about the many many challenges they will face from immediate family, from society etc.

NEXT PHASE: THE REALITY CHECKS FROM THE FAMILY:

Nayantara, as Maan already knows, is a schemer who may go to any lengths to separate Maan and Geet, especially if she knows that Geet is Maan's fiance. Why? Because we all already know that all the money in the family is in Maan's hands and Dev has nothing, as Dev himself has often said.

(This could be due to the fact they are stepbrothers, and maybe Maan was a legitimate heir while Dev was born to a second woman? An old article on his mother Parminder Khurana seems to suggest this moter was a "second woman" in his father's life.)

Anway, if ths is the case that all the money is with Maan, so then Nayantara will do whatever she can to squash any engagement of Maan to any girl, because if Maan marries and has an heir, the money will go to the child and not the brother. This is what Maan is expecting Nayantara to do as he said yesterday … that if she has heard of his engagement, she will try to frighten his fiancee away.

Indeed, when Nayantara hears that actually "Geet" is the fiancee, she will be doubly sceming. At first her instinct may be to try and frighten Geet away at all costs, not just to preent Maan from having any heirs, but also to prevent Geet from doing any bhandaphod to Maan about the sham marriage. Plus, Nayantara knows about Geet's pregnancy and may still be in doubt whether she has had an abortion.

Nayantara may believe that Geet has already had an abortion just to smehow get a rich husband like Maan.

But anyway, to try to get rid of Geet from entangling in their family, Nayantara may bring in Sameera … hoping that bringing Maan's past love back will make him leave Geet. But that whole strategy may become useless, when Maan decides to stay with Geet - and Sameera no longer makes ay difference to him any more.

At this point I believe the whole bhandaphod may happen when it becomes clear to Maan that the cheat in Geet's life was his own brother, working in partnership with his scheming wife. Nayantara too may coe to know that geet has not aborted the baby. There will be huge fireworks in that family and Daadi may throw in a few bouncers of her own, that the two brothers should stay together since it is her "granchild"whichever way you see it.

But I expect that this family hungama will thn somehow getresolved at this stage, when Geet may then go ahead and have the child. (Whether she gets married to Maan before that, or lives inwith him is less important to me.) The fact is that I think he will support her throughout and be truly a fabuous man!!! He may even be ready to adopt the baby and give it his name!!!

Now will come the second act of Nayantara, I feel. She may realise that the baby is a "golden goose' on which Dev has a hold. He is after all the biological father who may have to give consent to Maan's adoption. So she will make Dev refuse the consent and will try to forcibly take the custody of the child from Geet, if Geet wants to marry (or stay married) to Maan. Geet will be in danger of losing the baby to Dev if she wants Maan in her life.

At this point Maan's greatness will again come to the fore, I feel. He may well decide that since all that Dev and Nayanatara are interested is in the family wealth, he may do a huge tyaag of all his wealth to them, asking in return for the baby to be handed back to Geet and himself.

The greedy ones may eventually agree, and all that Geet and Maan will have is themselves and the baby - as they have to start all over again in life, in business, in a home, in a new family where they may have other childern of their own etc.

SUBSEQUENT PHASE: THE REALITY CHECKS FROM SOCIETY:

The rest of the story after this re-launch of the lives of Geet and Maan and their baby has many many possibilities which may occur one after another to test their love. We all know how society may start badmouthing a couple such as these two … just a few examples:

- Geet may be the butt of malicious gossip for having a baby by another man who was her own husband's brother.

- Maan's new business may be sriously in teething troubles where finces are difficult

- They may have another baby who dynamics with the older adopted sibling may be difficult etc etc.

- Or Dev-NT may continue to harass their lives by pretending a love for the older child and trying to irritate Geet and Maan

But through all this the recurrent theme of this serial will always be (as I said at the very beginning of this post):

GEET'S PAST WILL ALWAYS BE THROWING A SHADOW ON THEIR LIVES, SINCE STRONG SOCIETAL DEFIANCE ALWAYS HAS MANY REPERCUSSIONS WHICH MUST BE FACED.

GEET WILL ALWAYS THEREFORE WORRY THAT HER PAST MAY HURT THE LIFE OF THE MAN SHE LOVES AND SHE WILL BE BE KEEN TO PREOTECT HIM FROM THAT.

BUT MAAN'S TRUE TEST OF CALIBRE WILL ALWAYS BE THAT HE WILL STAND BY HER COME WHAT MAY … AND HE WILL NOT EVER LET HER PAST HURT HER AGAIN.

THE STRONG LESSON TO SOCIETY FROM THIS SERIAL WILL BE THAT "LOVE IS NOT JUST ABOUT EYELOCKS AND HANDHOLDING AND DUPATTA SCENES … BUT WHEN DECISIONS ARE MADE TO GO AGAINST SOCIETY'S IDIOTIC RULES, THERE ARE REPRECUSSIONS TO BE FACED NOT ONLY BY ONE ERSON BUT ALSO THE ONES THEY LOVE. AND TRUE LOVE HAS TO BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND THESE REALITY CHECKS."

THE LOVE OF MAAN AND GEET WILL ONLY GROW STRONGER AND STRONGER WITH EACH SUCH CHALLENGE …

… AND OF COURSE, TO ENSURE TRPs AND THE CONTINUED THRILLS FOR US VIEWERS, EVERY EPISODE IS SURE TO INCLUDE SOME EYELOCKS, HANDHOLDING, DUPATTA/EARRING SCENES, HUGS … (mwaaahhh!!!!)

… and thus we viewers, the creatives, and Maan and Geet and their family will all live happily ever after, evening after evening after evening after evening …….

Lots of Love to you for opening this post...

Your analysis on the popular thinking of people on this forum is Fabulous. I really agree with you. And I do go with the gist of the story that you have provided. As the popular qoute on the forum, Distance makes the heart grow fonder, I want Maaneet to take their time in expressing their feelings and letting out the truth...
