I will be the last person trying to figure out Riddhima's actions because she is a complete enigma to me. However I feel that her phone call to Armaan informing him about her remarriage was needed for two main reasons:

1. As a friend (or ex or whatever) Armaan should be personally informed about the ceremony and invited to participate. He should not get to hear about it from any random person.

2. He also needs to be informed that it is happening with Riddhima's consent so that he does not rush in like a knight in shining armour to rescue the princess.

Also maybe there was a message for viewers there.

I do not like "teri-toh 😡 " mails but would enjoy reading some "saath-saath 😊 " mails, so please respond.

Well said. Yes, I do agree that he needed to hear it. And from Riddhima herself, not even from Sid and certainly not from some random person. The bit about it being with her own consent also seems to me a way of consciously trying to convey to him that she's not standing in the way of his moving on. Because somewhere, all that concern and the stay-away-from-Shilpa monologues might not have done him a whole lot of good, if moving on is really what she wants him to be doing.
I do also think it's a bit odd of her to think that the announcement doesn't have much of an effect on him, in terms of his sounding okay and therefore by assumption being okay, as she reasoned out to her father later. But then yeah, an enigma she is, and I've just about given up trying to understand her. I've honestly no expectations from her any more. For anything, really.
Nice topic. Cheers! 😊

@blue I completely agree with this added perspective. Very well articulated.

@red Even I got this feeling that she was trying to convince herself rather than her father.

And we both agree that trying to figure out her actions and expectations is beyond us. 😊
