His Friends Always Said
'Katrina was merely using him'
We all knew that Kat was having work permit issues when she joined B'wood and Salman came to her rescue. Then Kat, who didn't speak a word of Hindi, was welcomed (thanks to Salman) without so much as a CV or a demo by directors. Salman even acted in the David Dhawan film Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya giving Kat her first full-fledged role. But when Yuvvraaj failed at the box office she dropped him instantly, "The box office results are not good. It's not a good idea for us to work together." Much like that, she milked him while the going was good and dropped him once it didn't suit her anymore.
'She was not wife material'
In an interview Salman said that he would like someone like Kajol as his wife. "Someone who would be happy doing one good film a year. I wouldn't want my wife to put on make-up every morning and rush to shoot and not be bothered about what's going on at home," he said. "Kat's career is soaring. She is ambitious and competitive and is not willing to give it all up for Salman," a friend says. Over the past few years, godfather Salman bent over backwards to help her, but now that she has what she wanted, she's moved on without a glance back.
'There were too many rumours about her and other men'
A source close to Salman said, "Every time he would confront her about a link-up she would laugh it off blaming it on the media. But we all knew she was never the nave sweet girl she always pretended to be." Apparently Salman found out that there was some truth to what was reported in the media. The source said, "Salman has smartened up. But as she is younger, he still feels affectionate towards her. "
'She will not give up Salman totally'
Some people feel that it's Kat who's insisted that Salman and she stay friends because of the advantages it will bring her. "If you are in trouble Salman will rush over even if it's at midnight. Katrina knows where her bread is buttered," said a source. Well, that explains why Kat is telling everyone that he's a great mentor and his family is like her family… so on and so forth. Yeah! It does help to have such a 'great' friend.
