Hi everyone....😃
As you all may know, Geet runs a week behind here in the US and today's episode was the Disco-dancing-drinking-hugging-scheming one that aired last Friday in India. Well, I noticed that they did not play the actual song that Maan was lip-synching and dancing to, just a catchy BG score😲
Don't know why....any explanations?😕 Is it because of copyright violation?
New to the forum and would appreciate the help😊, thanks.

I think Shruti pointed that out earlier. Regardless, the bckgrnd music is still quite nice in the US episodes!

There is a topic on FB on this issue as well. This just happened in Australia too. No song only Maan dancing. It looked so disheartening. After watching the full version on youtube I was waiting for tonights song and dance but what a disappointment it was.

Please someone at Geet at least explain why the overseas viewers get a raw deal......
There has been so many topics on this but everyone is mum on the issue!!!!!
A die hard fan of Geet but so not happy with what we end up getting....

The same thing happenend yesterday in the UK episode. I had already watched it on youtube but it was just background disco music and I had to tell my mum, he is actually singing to , 'where's the party tonight'. She was like 'is he?'.....I was like 'yes, that's why he is moving his lips'. After seeing it on you tube, it just seemed to me like a technical error, where the song had somehow got lost and it didn't have the same effect.

Well this problem didn't exist a year ago here in UK. The epis on StarOne use to be aired the same day as in India and the songs were never edited out.
Why the change?

Yep, the bg music was still nice, but Maan lip synching to a non-existent song was awkward😕 ... Maybe it is the copyright issue....they never credit the original artists/movie of the song when they use it in the serials and may not want to fall afoul of the strict laws here...😕😕😕 Don't know....that is the only explanation that comes to my mind.....

Girls
The same question was asked in Geet FB and the answer given was that getting global rights to new songs is very expensive .....

Thank you Priya for clearing this up😊. So it is as I suspected. Another thing I have noticed is that they blur any of the tradenames that might be on the items....like if a character is using a Nokia phone, then they make sure "Nokia" cannot be read..
