Socha Na Tha

Part 1: (Socha Na Tha)

Moonlight streams into a bedroom, the wind gently fluttering the white curtains and canopy bed curtains. Through the open French windows we hear delicate wind chimes and the sound of rain. On the bed lays a couple entwined, completely locked together and at peace.

As the moments pass by, we see the woman slowly open her eyes and realizing where she is, shyly glancing down at the arm pining her to the bed. Taking in her surroundings she sees that the delicate pink rose petals strewn everywhere, and blushes lightly realizing how that happened. Turning her gaze she looks adoringly at the face of the man beside her. Suddenly feeling too shy and completely in awe of her life, she gently pries herself from his arms. Delicately placing her feet on the floor, she gently tugs the sheet around her while looking over her shoulder to make sure her companion was sleeping. Wrapping the sheet around herself sari style, she places her pillow under his arms where he had been holding her.

Quietly she looks walks to the window and gazes out at the beauty of the rain. While she is serenely looking out the window and reminiscing through all the events that they had gone through to get to tonight, he awakens probably missing her presence from the moment she had gotten out of bed. Slowly he rises and looks around, fearing for a brief moment that it had been a dream (as it had been many times before), on seeing her at the window, he faintly smiles and shakes his head at himself as if to say, "pagal, this is now the reality".

Kabhi Dil Ke Kareeb, Tumhe Mere Naseeb
Yun Laayenge Socha Na Tha

Finally, with his senses focused, he takes in the view of his beautiful angel, looking even more radiant now that she was fully and completely his. He swings his legs down from the bed and slowly pads towards his love. On reaching her, he gently wraps his hands around her waist from behind. On feeling his touch and the plains of his chest at her back, she leans back and completely melts into him. Laying one arm on top of his and with the other clutching her mangalsutra, she turns her head to one side and onto his chest, as if to find a way to hide herself in him. Smiling gently at her actions he puts his head into the crook of her neck and kisses her there.

Ek Chahat Ka Pal, Sab Savalon Ka Haal
Yun Paayenge Socha Na Tha
Kabhi Dil Ke Kareeb

Gently he turns her around, so that he can look into her eyes and see himself there. As he slowly tilts her head up, he sees the blush travel up her neck and her eyes flutter close. Feeling playful, he slowly glides his hand around her waist and pulls her suddenly close. She gasps and opens her eyes, she sees him smiling naughtily down at her. In her eyes, he can finally see himself, her love and their happiness.

(Aankhein Joh Ab Meri Aankhon Mein Hain
Dhoond Raha Tha Kayi Salon Se) - 2
Kitni Milti Hain Aankhein Yeh
Khwabon Se Mere Khayalon Se
Ke Haqeqaat Mein Hum, Sapno Ka Sanam
Yun Paayenge Socha Na Tha
Kabhi Dil Ke Kareeb, Tumhe Mere Naseeb

Gazing into his eyes and feeling again overwhelmed by her happiness, a lone tears spills from her shimmering eyes. His gaze follow the track of the tear and he quickly kisses it away. Once again gazing at his angel, he whispers, 'yun aaso mat bahao, khusi mein bhi nahi....agar yeh ghir gata toh mere dil mein tufaan aa gata'. She widens her eyes and breathlessly whispers, " Maan". She looses herself in his gaze and moments pass, maybe minutes maybe hours.

(Kabhi Tanha Bethe Bethe Yunhi
Pal Mein Hi Main Ghum Ho Jaati Thi) - 2
Main Bhi Kahaan Main Rehti Thi
Aksaar Main Tum Ho Jaati Thi

Finally breaking the gaze and feeling shy once again she ducks her head and goes to pull away from him. She is unsuccessful though as she feels a tug around her neck at the backward motion. On looking, she sees that her mangalsutra and his taveez had become entangled, stopping the notion of her away movement. Still unable to meet his gaze and completely flustered, she tries to untangle the two in vain. After a few moments of observing her movements with amusement, he slowly lays his hand over hers pausing her in the midst of her actions. As she stops her movements and once again gazes into his soul, he slowly smiles and lifts her into his arms. She quickly twines her hands around his neck, lays her head on his shoulder and happily allows him to take her back to their bed.

Yeh Ajaab Si Khata, Aur Isski Saza
Yun Paayenge Socha Na Tha
Kabhi Dil Ke Kareeb, Tumhe Mere Naseeb
Yun Laayegne Socha Na Tha
Ek Chahat Ka Pal, Sab Savalon Ka Haal
Yun Paayenge Socha Na Tha

Part 2 : (Lehrein)

July 20, 2010

As she slowly walks away from the party, all she keeps on hearing is his voice saying, "zyada important nahi hai hamare liye". As she recalls the last few days, all the words that were between them and all the actions that occurred, she wonders why she can't see past the hurt caused by his words when he says that she is not important for him. " Nahi not him, the company, Geet wohh is project ki baat kar rahe the, apni nahi" Still, no matter how much she tries to console herself, its as if her life was stuck in that moment "Waise bhi mujhe kyun itna farak pad taa hai ki mein unke liye ya unke is project ke liye important nahi, babaji, main aise kyun soch rahi hoon"

Khoyi khoyi si hoon main
Kyun yeh dil ka haal hai

She, in order to take her mind off from him, starts taking a fond last look at the decorations which she had so diligently selected and put up as she passes by them on her way out. But looking at the decorations and her purpose behind them, she again gets a sad look on her face and with eyes overflowing, spills her pain and confusion to the ground. How she wished that night had not happened, how she hugged him, but then she had been so lost in her past and the devastation there that she had needed him to save her again. It seemed that it was her destiny to lose her dreams whether they were as simple as making him proud of her work.

Dhundle saari khwaab hai
Ulja har khayaal hai
Saari kaliyan murja gayi
Rang unke yaadon mein beh gaye
Saare gharronde raet ke
Lehrein aayi, lehron mein beh gayi

"Bas ab aur nahi" she hastily wipes her tears and continues walking forward. Her walk though determined, lacks her usual enthusiasm and liveliness, as if some force had suddenly and harshly taken them from her. Still so lost in her thoughts, and her worry for her future and that of her baby, she walks the street without care of the cars passing her by and the lack of shoes on her feet.

Back at the party, Daadima had joined the party, hoping to see Geet and Maan together, thinking that her advice to Geet would have had the desired effect. Upon seeing Maan enter the room with his client and Adi, she becomes confused at the lack of Geet and starts to subtly look around and inquire about her. Hearing from a waiter that he had seen ma'am leaving the venue, Daadima too decides to leave. As she is waiting for her car outside, she ponders the situation, 'zaroor Maan ne phir se ushe kuch keh diya hoga, aur wohh party chod ke chali gayi hogi' Worrying she hopes that Geet is okay and that she reaches her destination safely. Thinking that she will talk to her tomorrow at the office, she gets into her car and asks her driver to take her home.

As they are driving down the road, Daadima sees that a crowd had formed on the side of the road and tries to get a closer looks, wondering what had happened. As the crowd keeps moving, she sees a flash of red - the shade similar to what Geet was wearing and asks the driver to stop the car. "Per ma'am, hum beech raaste mein'". "Humne kaha ke gaadi rokiye" as the car stops, she hastily walks out of the car and walks toward the crowd. Under her breath we can hear faints murmurs of prayer. When she makes her way inside the crowd, she looks down to see Geet crumpled on the side walk holding a bloody foot. Hastily she calls the family doctor and asks him to come there immediately. Upon confirmation of his arrival, she crouches down near Geet and gently lays a hand on her shoulder, "Beta".

Geet hastily glances up at the owner of the hand and is relieved to see the familiar face of Savitri Devi. Looking at the tear stained face and pain filled eyes, Daadimaa touches her head, running her hand over the head in a soothing motion. "Beta bus doctor aate hi hain" At hearing the word doctor, Geet panicks and hastily grabs her hand saying, "Ma'am bas pair mein bhool se kaach chubh gaya, doctor ki koi zaroorat nahi hai, Please Ma'am mujhe Doctor nahi chahiye"

Part 2 - (Lehrein, cont.)

Clutching Dadima's hand she desperately pleas, "Doctor Nahi Dadi, Please mujhe doctor nahi chahiye". "Calm down beta, shant..shant, itna movement aap ke liye accha nahi hai'..hume abhi yeh nahi pata ke app ke pair se sara glass nikal chuka hai ke nahi, movement se agar woh aur andar chala gaya toh badme zyada taklif hogi". Holding onto Geets fluttering hands, she once again tries to soothe her. As the desperate struggles ceases to stop, despite her best efforts, she hangs onto the hope that Dr. Sharma would arrive soon and assures her that nothing was wrong. Soon though she feels a loosening of the hands that were clutching hers.

Geet's body finally feeling the toll of the days of hard work, emotional stress, restless nights and her bleeding foot, starts to shut itself down. As the dizziness intensifies and she feels the blackness closing out all the colors from her eyes, she makes a last plea. With one hand Clutching her head as if hold herself conscience and the other laid across her stomach protectively, she keeps open her eyes for a few precious seconds more and wishpers to Dadima, "Ma'am...mera baccha.........theek.." before passing out. Shocked to hear the last statement but more worried about how limp and pale Geets body had gone, she asks her driver to carry geet to their car and lay her out on the back seat while they waited for Dr. Sharma to arrive. "Suno, ushe bohot sambhal ke pakad na main nahi chahti ke use koi aur dard ho" Relaying the orders, she holds onto Geets hand as they shift from the sidewalk to the car. After gently laying down geet and assuring her comfort, she continues to pace outside.

On seeing the Dr. arrive, she quickly apprises him of the situation and leads him to Geet. After examining her and bandaging her foot, he turns to Dadima and gravely advises her to take very good care of the girl, as she seems to displaying signs of extreme stress and fatigue. " Savitri Devi, yeh ladki ka sharir itna thaq gaya ke woh ek almost coma like state me enter kar gaya hai, apne aap ko repair karne ke liye". Receiving instructions from the doctor regarding proper care and promising to call him as soon as she awakens, Dadima has the driver take them to her home. She has Geet taken to Maan's Room and lain on the bed.

Finally relieved that Geet was going to be ok, she lets out a sigh of relief. Crossing the room, she sits on the bed and hold Geet's hand. "Beta, hume maaf karde na agar humare maan ki wajah se aap ko koi taklif hui ho.......humne doctor ko toh abhi appke pregnancy ke bara mein nahi bataya kyoki shayad aap yeh nahi chahti thi, lekin aap ki aise tabyat uske liye bhi kharab ho sakti hai". She did not know the girl beyond their handful of talks and meetings and she had no knowledge of her past, but she had decided that the honesty she felt from this girl was something to be trusted. Deciding not to worry about Geet's past, she resolves the when's, why's and how's running through her mind. Because though the situation was difficult, she knew in her heart, in her soul, that this was the girl that would change her Maan and their family forever. "Tumhari ankhon mein maine jo dard aur jo pyar dekha uss ek pal, jab tumne apne bacche ko pukara, mujhe pura yakin hai tum mere maan ko samaj paogi and ushe sambhal paoge" Fondly she looks at the serene face of Geet, smiles, kisses her forehead and settles in the couch facing the bed, waiting and anticipating the moment of her awakening.

Part 2 (cont.) (Final Part of part 2 Lehrein)

July 21

As she regains consciousness, slowly opening her eyes against the painful light, her first though was the same as it had been before she had lost consciousness, ' oh god, babaji mere bacche ko surakshit rekhna". Immediately she lays a hand across her stomach. Gaining more strength, she starts to slowly rise, to see, to make sure that things were ok. As she is rising, she glances around to see that she is laying on a beautiful canopy bed in what looks to be a room out of some fashion magazine. Properly looking to one side she sees Dadimaa, still dressed in her clothes from the party, dozing uncomfortably on the sofa next to the bed.

Realizing that she must be in Savitri Deviji's house, she relaxes know instinctively that she was safe. In the next moment, her eyes once again start to fill. Seeing that Savitri Deviji had taken such good care of her, even to the extent of staying with her through the night, immediately brings back those memories of her papaji and maa. She flashes back to the innumerable times when they had taken her to the doctor, even if she sneezed only once and of how they would hold her through the nights when she was unwell. But remembering her parents also makes her recall those last painful days of her life with them. Biting her lip in an effort to stop the tears, she uses her dupatta to wipe the lingers traces of tears from her face.

As she had been struggling her shake off her past, Dadimaa had awoken from her nap and seeing Geet's state decided to wait a few moments before making her aware of her wakefulness. On seeing Geet make an attempt to get out of bed, she quickly walks to her side and says, " Beta aap uthiye maat, aap ke pair me jo chot lagi hai uske pe doctor ne zyada weight dalne ka mana kiya hai. Agar aapko kuch bhi cheez ki zaroorat ho to hume kehdigiye hum aap ko le denge". Raising her hand to Geet's forehead she checks her temp., to assure that her body felt normal and after running her hand over her head, she faintly smiles and sits next to her on the bed. "Aap ka temperature toh normal hai aur aap ka raang bhi theek dikhta hai, aap ko bohot darad to nahi ho reha?". Geet shakes her head and smiles lovingly at Dadimaas action, "Ma'am aap to mujhe itne acche se jaanti nahi to phir ye saab'.". Raising her hand Dadimaa stops Geet mid-sentence, " Beta aap ke mou se Dadi zyada accha lagta hai, aapi hume ab se Dadi hi pukariye jaise kal raat keha tha, aur rahi baat janne ki, toh mera dil Tumhe janta hai aur dil ke rishte jhoot nahi bolte"

Hearing such loving words, Geet is overwhelmed, she hastily hugs dadimaa to her and starts to cry on her shoulder. "Dadiji". After she has expelled all her emotions onto the shoulders of her new family, she reluctantly pulls back from the embrace. "Dadi, who appne puchha toh nahi, magar'." she hesitates to continue. Dadimaa, sensing her discomfort, gently holds her again and assures her that she did not have to explain anything to her. "janti hun par jis tarah se aap ne muje khud pe haq diya, waise aap ka bhi mujh par ab haq banta hai". Feeling slightly exhausted, Geet slowly scoots to the backboard so that she can support herself. Cradling her arms in front of her and griping her elbows, she looks into Dadimaa's eyes and begins, "Dadi, aapko pata hai mera pura naam Geet Handa tha aur ab mein sirf Geet reh gayi hoon. Mere bareme janne ke liye aapko pehle Geet Handa se milna hoga" At this Dadi nods and indicates for Geet to continue "Geet Handa, 20 saal ki ek chote se gaoon ki ladki thi, woh ladki apne maa aur bauji ki laadli beti thi'..woh har baat ko dil laga kar karti thi. Apna BA kar rahi thi aur uska sabse bada yeh manna tha ki koi aise muskil nahi hoti, jise app mehnet aur dil se haal nahi kar sakte the'.."Geet continues with the story of her life and as she is narrating her story with that faraway look in her eyes, we see the emotions of her life displayed on Dadimaa's face.

Raah mein kal kitni chirag the
Saamne kal phoolon ki bhaag the
kiss se kahun kaun hai jo sune
Kaante hi kyun maine hai chune
Sapne mere kyun hai kho gaye
Jaage hai kyun dil mein gumm mere
Saare kaliyan murja gayi
Rang unke yaadon mein beh gaye
Saare gharaande reet ke
Lehrein aayi, lehron mein beh gayi

As she talks of her childhood, on Daadimaa's face we see humor and happiness; as she talks of her family, we see sympathy and disbelief; as she talks of her marriage, we see disgust and sadness; as she talks of her brother, we see anger and outrage; as she talks about her baby, we see pain and happiness; and as she talks of her determination, we see pride and love.

Kya kahun kyun yeh dil udaas hai
Ab koi door hai na paas hai
Choo le jo dil woh baatein ab kahan
Woh din kahan raatein ab kahan
Jo bhi dhakhal hai ab khawab sa
Ab dil mera hai betaab sa
Saari kaliyan murja gayi
Rang unke yaadon mein beh gaye
Saare gharaande reet ke
Lehrein aayi, lehron mein beh gayi, beh gaye

As she finishes her story with how she arrived in Delhi and consequently joined Maan's office, she looks relieved as if she is relieved of some great burden, actually she had not realized how lonely she was not being able to share all this with someone. "Beta, thank you, ke apne muje pe itna bharosa kiya, hum aap se vaada karte hain ke iss ko tutne nahi denge". To this Geet finally looks at Dadimaa, "Dadiji, maine theek kiya na?" saying this she looks down again and starts playing with her dupatta. Understanding Geet's need for acceptance, she holds her face and looking into her eyes says "Haan beta, aap bilkul saahi hain, aur aap ki spirit aur himmet dekh ke hume aap kar bohot garv hai. Aaj se aap ko jo bhi madat chahiye, us insaan ko dhund ne ke liye toh humara saara power aap ke saath hai" At this Geet brightens once again and the sparkles start returning to her eyes, finally she starts to regain herself from the incident last night. "Beta, hum doctor ko bulate hain ke aap conscious ho gaye hain, and don't worry, woh saab baate confidential rakhenge". Saying this Daadimaa starts to walk away to call the doctor and freshen up while he arrived. As she is almost out of the room, she returns again part way through and inquires, " Waise bete uss ladke ka aur uski patni ka naam kya tha, jissne tumhare saath aisa kiya? Aapne uska naam nahi kaha; hume naam de dijiye to hum inquiry karte hai Canada Embassy mein. Hum wahan pe kafi logon ko jaante hai, aaj raat tak aap ko shayad hum kuch bata sake"

Part 3: Na Sahi

"Dadiji, unka naam Dev Khurana aur Naintara tha". Hearing these words pierces Dadimaa's heart, a painfull squeeze that stops all her breath and movement. Her all thoughts stopped and for a moment it seemed as if her zindaggi had come crashing down. But, just as suddenly as the pain and heartbreak had come to her face so was it gone. She knew she could not ask anymore questions, not at this moment, not when this wounded angel was looking at her with such trust. Quickly schooling her features, she gives a small painfull smile meeting Geet's eye and quickly turns around. "Beta hum bas doctor aye tab unko leke aate hain, tab tak app rest kijiye aur kuch chahiye toh bed ke pas phone hai usmein 453 dial karke staff ko batadijiye ga" Saying this she quickly walks out of the room and with rapidly falling tears quickly walks to her room.
"Oh Goh, yeh kya hogaya" Entering her room, she quickly shuts the door, leans back on it for a moment, and walks towards the family portrait which showed her family at one of its happiest moments, Vicky's Graduation. She thought that she has seen all the bad she was destined to see in her life, especially after the events which had occurred in the lives of her grandsons in the past 2 years, but it seemed she was still left to see this day. She knew, absolutely knew, that this girl was not lying nor was she a scheming type like Sameera had been. She could not, did not, want to believe that her grandson had done something like this, and that too with the help of his wife, mother, and sister but she knew he had always been his mother's weakness. It was too much coincidence that a husband and wife with the names Dev and Naintara, living in Canada, had stolen everything from this girl; not with the money problems which they had been having and definitely not the sudden way in which they had solved that problem. She has also seen the problems going on between Dev and Naintara, she had never seen Naintara act so possessive and slightly insecure before, and she had thought that maybe they were regular marriage problems. Looking back on the events and having the knowledge she now did, she sees the that there was on odd quality to Dev and naintara's interactions. How she wished that things were back to the way they had been on Vicky's Graduation.
Ek Ped Milkar Pyar Ka, Humne Lagaya Tha Kabhi.
Aate Jo Phal To Thik Tha, Woh Na Phale Toh Na Sahi .
Kuch Na Hue To Na Sahi, Na Bane To Na Sahi,
Na Mile Na Sahi, Kuch Na Rahe To Na Sahi.
Aye Zindagi....
She knew she had promised to pay retribuition to the monsters that had commited such an heinous act and no matter how much her grandmother's heart would wish otherwise she had to show her grandson the consequences of his actions. Suddenly unable to bear all this and very much feeling her age, she sinks to the floor. Rocking back and forth she cries out her pain. 'Shayad mera beta aur bahu jo zimmedari mujh pe chod kar gaye the, meri usme kuch kammi reh gayi'. Feeling swamped with guilt that maybe she had not done enough in the past to prevent the need for such actions to occur, she feels her spirit breaking.

Aye Zindagi.... Har Ek Raaste Se,
Humne Pukaara Tumhe, Socha Savara Tunhe,
Par Tumko Accha Na Laga, Koi Wada Saccha Na Laga,
Tum Roothe Ho Yeh Socha Kar, Tum Ko Manayege Magar.
Ab Humse Roothi Teri Yeh Nazar.
Agar Na Hase To Na Sahi, Na Bane To Na Sahi,
Na Mile Na Sahi, Kuch Na Rahe To Na Sahi .
Suddenly she hears a knock on the door, "Ma"am, Doctor ka phone aaya tha, pooch rahe the ki Geet ko hos aaya ke nahi. Maine unhe hold pe rekha hain, kya reply dein?" "Unhe keh dijiye ke use hos aa gaya hai aur woh jaldi se aa gayen". "Ji, Ma'am" Breaking out of her pains, she gathers herself slowly and stands up "Nahi, nahi, I cant think this way, Geet ko, Maan ko, aur mere hone wale greatgrandson/granddaughter ko meri zaroorat hai". "Bahgvan meri madat karna ke mein apne aap ko aur sab ko sambhal saku, Maan already Vicky aur Sammera ke vajeh se itne toot chuke hain, aur ab yeh baat. Geet ke pas jo himat hai woh uss mein nahi hai, aur Geet ko bhi iss baat se kitni taklif hogi" She has seen so many dreams about her family and they had only gotten more beautiful since she had meet Geet. So many efforts she made to hold together everyone, but she knew she had to still hold hope, she had still so many people to bring together, and though she would lose something in the process, she could only follow her heart and hope it lead to the right path. Wiping the tears, she decides to first freshen up, hoping to think more clearly after having a bath, and then come up with a plan and a course to action to solve these tangled lives.

Part 3 (Na Sahi), cont.
Quickly getting ready Daadimaa steps out of her room and goes towards the front office, so that she can wait for the doctor and finalize her plans . The first thing, she feels she needs to do, is to clarify all the details and the exact degree of involvement of Naintara, Parminder, and Dev in the events that occurred. As soon as she reaches the office, she dials the number for their Canada residence. "Hello" "Parminder, main bol rahi hoon" "Mumiji, aap ka phone..kitni raat ko'sab kuch theek to hai na'Chote sahad kaise hain?" "Parminder, mujhe tumse kuch sawal pooch ne aur mujhe inke saahi saahi jawad chahiye". After a moment, a nervous voice replies, "Sawal kaise mummiji.." "Saval hain, bohot saare saval hain, Dev ke bare mein, Naintara ke bare mein, tumhare bare mein, GEET ke bare mein" "Mummiji, ji vo'ji..mein'" "Parminder bas, jo hona tha vo ho chuka hai, mein bus yeh janna chahti hoon ke kya tum mujhe saach batao gi" "Haan bataongi, jabse uss ladki se mili thi mujhe pata tha ke yeh baat chup nahi rahegi". From there Daadimaa carries on the conversation with Parminder regarding all the events past. (In flashbacks we see the instance which occur between Dev, Geet, Geet's family, Naintara and Parminder). "Jab aapko pata chala ke Geet pregnant hai, tabhi aap ne hume yeh baat batana zaroori na samjha, na hi to uss ladki ki madat karne ka apne Socha" "Mumiji, yeh aap kya keh rahi hain'Geet pregnant'.yeh kaise ho sakta hain.." "Kya aap ko ya Dev ko yeh baat pata nahi thi" "Mein Dev ke kassam khake kehti hoon ke hume iss baat ka koi pata nahi tha" "theek hain, humari jo baat hui hain uss ke baare mein aap kisi nahi kahengi, hum aap se thode dino ke baad baat karte hain" Hanging up, Daadimaa was saddened at the extent of the wrongs committed by her family, but she is relieved to know that at least Dev had not been the one to force the abortion on Geet, it seemed that Naintara had been acting on her own.
"Ma'am, doctor sahab aa gaye hain," "Unhe chai pani offer kijiye, aur unhe kahiye ke hum bas aate hain". Dialing another number, we hear Daadimaa saying, "Humme aap ka kuch kam tha, kuch hume pata karna tha" "Ji Ma'am" "Mujhe kuch dinno mein Naintara Rathod Khurana ke baare mein ek extensive report chahiye, jo bhi relevant information hai peechle 5 saalonn mein, woh sab" "Yes Ma'am". She decides that once she receives the report in a few days, then she would decide the final course of her actions, she wanted to met out the correct punishments. Hanging up, she goes towards the doctors and greets him. "Doctor, I am glad to see you come so quickly" "Savitri Devi, yeh to mera farz hain, so how is my patient doing this morning" "She looks to be doing well, uska temperature aur color accha hai aur pair mein dard bhi utna nahi hai, I have kept her on bed rest per your instructions, Chaliye, I will take you to her"
Upon reaching the room, Daadimaa pauses outside the door and indicates the doctor to stop. "Waise Dr. Sharma, hum app se ek baat kal raat batana bhul gaye the, humari bahu pregnant hai, uske iss halat ka baache pe to asar nahi hoga na". The doctor gets a shocked and surprised look at this statement, it was astonishing news because he had not heard of Maan or Vicky getting married. "Doctor sahab, woh nayi nayi love marriage hui hai, aap samaj saakte hain ke iss tarha ki baat ko delicately handle karna chahiye, aur especially meri bahu ki aise halat mein" "Of course, Savitri Devi, you know my reputation, all this is utterly confidential. If she is not complaining of any pain or strange feelings in her abdomen I don't think there is anything to worry about. Lets go and take a look at the patient, I should be able to tell you more after the examination"
On opening the door, they are greeted with the site of Geet running her hand on her stomach and talking to her baby. Seeing the doctor, she blushes and immediately drops her hand to her side. "Geet Beta, this is Dr. Sharma, he will be doing a check up, to make sure ke aap aur app ka baccha ki health bilkul theek hain". Daadimaa finds that facing Geet was not as difficult as she had thought it would be and is glad that she will be able to take care of her bahu properly. Eyes filling at this casual show of concern regarding her baby's health from a person who had been a stranger only a few days ago, she smiles at Daadimaa, "Ji Daadiji". Daadimaa smiles and moves back to allow the doctor to perform is check up and re-bandage the foot. "They both seem to be doing well, I need her to come for a pre-natal check up once she has rested for a few more days" "Yes Doctor". After giving more instructions regarding proper care the doctor turns to leave. Leading the doctor away, and immensely relieved that their health was fine, Daadimaa once again instructs geet to rest saying that she would be back shortly.

Part 3: Na Sahi (end)
July 20th
As he surveyed the on going party, his mind was only focused on Geet. "Shayad mujhe uss se waise sab nahi kehan chahiye tha, but what to do, mujhe uss se dur rehna hai varna jo thoda hos mujhme baccha hai woh bhi chala gaye ga." Suddenly feeling a presence near him, he sees Sasha, Adi and the clients waiting to get his attention. "Mr. Khurana, thank you for the wonderful party, it was great to see India represented so well, aaj kaal yeh kam dekhne ko milta hai". As he continues to assure the clients of his plans for their project, he internally wallows in the surging guilt. "Geet sahi thi, yeh concept bilkul sahi nikla clients ke liye". As the party winds down, he makes the plan to return Geet's sandal to her. "Mein aaj hi yeh wapas dedeta hoon, woh thik se ghar pohonch gayi yeh bhi tasali ho gayegi, yeh ladki itne gusse mein nikli thi, itna bhi nahi sochti ki usne dono joote nahi pehne,, kya karu mein uska?"
Remembering the way he had spoken to her and about her, he knows that he will have to apologize to her again, "Woh sachme job chod ke to nahi jayegi? Pata nahi par jab usske baat atti hai toh mein jaise sochta hoon waisa Kabhi nahi hota; mein pehle office check karta hoon". On reaching the office he strides into Geet's office, looking around to observe it's state. "hum'uski cheeze toh yahan hai, accha hai" Looking relieved, he decides to call Geet back to her old position and types up an appointment letter as a way to assure her and to apologize. "Waise yahan hogi toh mein uske nazar rakh sakoonga'I mean'.uss ke ulte seedhe ideas ko correct kar sakoonga" Grabbing the letter from the printer, he signs it and decides to reach Geet's home as soon as possible. On the way all he can think of are their moments together.
Tum Raasta Mein Ajnabee, Lagta tha kyun yeh har ghadi
Aadhe Adhure Geet ki, Ek Tum Kadi Ek Main Kadi.
Tum Raasta Mein Ajnabee, Lagta tha kyun yeh har ghadi
Tumhe Dekhke Lagta tha ye, Tum ho Bane mere vaaste,
Milna Hi Tha Humko magar, Hum na mila to na sahi,
Ho..Zindagi..
When he reaches Geet's house, the first thing he notices is the fact that Pinky and Adi seem to be pacing outside the house and looking extremely worried. Sensing the panic behind their movements and desperate to see Geet he quickly jogs over to them. "Sir, aap yahan'" "Haan woh main'..Adi tum yahan pei kya kar rahe ho?" "Betaji, yeh kon hai?" "Papa, yeh humare boss, Maan Singh Khurana hai" "Accha..Geet ne bataya tha app ke bare mein" "Mere bare mein'.Geet ne''hummm" "Namaste Uncle, waise mujhe Geet se milna tha, woh yeh uska appointment letter office mein reh gaya tha" Adi looks startled at this, but thinking of Geet he, and everyone else, gets the desperate looks on their faces again. Seeing this and with a sinking heart, "Batao, hya hua?" "Sir woh Geet abhi tak ghar nahi aayi hai, nahi uska phone aaya, woh Kabhi ghar late nahi aati hain aur woh iss seher mein humare siva kisiko jaanti bhi nahi'.maine Adi sir ko phone karke poocha agar unko kuch pataho lekin woh keh rahe hain ki Geet to party chalu hone ke pehle se ghar ke liye nikal gayi thi, hume pata nahi chal reha ke hum kya kare?" "Adi sir ki help se humne pura neighboorhood dhoond liya, wapas venue pe bhi check kiya'.kisi ko kuch bhi pata nahi hai.."
With a heart cracking in two and such extreme desperation that it showed on his face, "Kya police ke pas gaye?". "Ji, sir, per they said ke jab tak missing person ko 24 hours nahi ho gate, they cannot do anything" Channeling his fear into his anger, he quickly dials his phone, "Hello" "Main Maan bol reha hoon" "Maan beta, aap iss waqt phone kar reha hain, sab khariyet toh hai na" "Uncle, I need your help", Surprised to hear these words from the fiercely independent Maan and wary of the furious tone, the man replies, 'Maan, aap se kuch ho gaya ka'." "Nahi, nahi uncle, mere ek doost pechle kuch ghanto se missing hai, she is not the type to''uncle I just have a bad feeling about this" "Beta, main jaante hoon ke hum commissioner hain lekin event I cannot file a complain until at least 24 hours have past, But mein 2 officers ko local hospitals aur public places mein check karne ke liye bhagetaa hoon, just give me name and description and I will try my best to help you" Giving the information, he thanks him and hangs up. Amazed at Maan's actions and relieved at knowing that there would be an investigation into the matter, they take Maan inside.
"Maan beta, aap bethiya, aap ka raang bohot utra hai, ab hum sirf babaji se prathna kar sakte hain ki humari Geet sahi salamat ho" Saying this, uncle walks into the kitchen to make some coffee, he knew tonight no one was getting any sleep until Geet was safely home. Dropping his head into his hands, he tugs at his hairs, " I can't believe ke yeh ho raha hai, please mujhe maaf kar do, kahan ho tum Geet?" He recalls all the moments he saved her, from the goons, drowning, her brother, that creep Rahul, with each memory the scenarios in his mind only gets worse and worse as to what could have happened. "Beta, coffee" Taking the cup mindlessly, he once again retreats into the memories of his Geet. Thinking back to what he had said, he wishes desperately to take back That statement, "Tum bohot important ho mere liye, bohot zyada hi important ho". "Agar meri Geet ko kuch ho gaya, mein usko choddunga nahi jisne bhi use chune ki himmet kare hogi". His hand is gripping the cup so tightly that it breaks causing his hand to bleed, but he is unaware and uncaring of the pain. Only when his attention is brought to his hands by Pinkies and Adi's exclamations does he glances down but even then all he can remember is time when Geet bandaged his hand.
har gaam harek aasoon hume apna banana aa gaya,
har haal mein har daur mein hume muskurana aa gaya.
har gaam harek aasoon hume apna banana aa gaya,
gaam hai bhi toh rukna nahi jeena toh jhuka nahi
yeh zindagi koi khusi ab na bhi toh na sahi
ho zindagi...
After bandaging his hand, he once again resumes his vigil. At the first ring of his phone "Beta, saare hospitals aur public places check ho gaye hain, aap ke discription se milta koi waha pe nahi tha aur iss raat koi kidnapping ya accidents ke reports bhi nahi hue hain, hopefully yeh koi chotti si hi baat ho aur usska phone ghar pe aajaye. Jaise hume kuch aur pata chalta hain humare officer aap ko phone kar denge. Aap ke paas koi nayi information aaye to hume bata dena". After hanging up, Maan starts to move again, unable to take the inaction he decides to check the streets himself. Suddenly the house phone rings, uncleji rushes to the phone and has a brief conversation before hanging up. Seeing the smile and relief in unclejis face they know that must have been good news about Geet. "Saab theek hai, hume Geet ka pata chal gaya hai"
Aye Zindagi.... Har Ek Raaste Se,
Humne Pukaara Tumhe, Socha Savara Tunhe,
Par Tumko Accha Na Laga, Koi Wada Saccha Na Laga,
Tum Roothe Ho Yeh Socha Kar, Tum Ko Manayege Magar.
Ab Humse Roothi Teri Yeh Nazar.
Agar Na Hase To Na Sahi, Na Bane To Na Sahi,
Na Mile Na Sahi, Kuch Na Rahe To Na Sahi .
Zindagi...

Part 4: Jaane Kya
July 23rd, midnight
As Maan startles awake from his nightmare regarding Geet, he struggles to catch his breath. Still taking heavy labored breath he is surprised to feel something wet slide down his face. Touching his face, he is startled to see that it's a tear. He had not allowed himself the luxury of tears since his Dad had died, "mein Kyun khud se kiye vaade bhul raha hoon?" Knowing that sleep would be impossible now, but with his body desperately needing the rest, he lacks back down determined and deliberately, desperately tries not to think of the cause of his every thought, his actions.
Feeling Blue....feeling blue
My heart says....heart says
Can't be'.Can't be true
Jaane kya chahe man...bawra
Jaane kya chahe man...bawra
Ankhiyan mere...sawan chala
Ankhiyan mere....sawan chala
Unable to sleep again, his thought stirs to the one direction, where he knew nothing laid but pain, anger, Confusion. Geet. It had been 3 days since that night, the night where everything changed, the night since which he had not seen or talked to Geet. After hearing that Geet was resting and receiving care at the house of someone she knew, he had finally thought past the red haze which had clouded his thinking since the moment he had found her missing. On taking care of the police and after handing the appointment letter to Pinky, he had left for his own home, worried still about what had happened to make Geet faint but relieved. He did not know what he had expected to happen after that night, but the days that followed that night were nothing short of a disaster.

Flashback:

Unable to sleep for the rest of that night, he had practiced Tai-Chi and caught up on office work. The next day, though he had known that Geet was recovering from poor health, he had kept expecting a phone call from her or to see her barging into his office tearing the appointment letter to pieces in front of him and accuse him of being a Dusht Danav and how dare he think she would work for him after what happened. "Yeh ladki, kitni un-professional hai, ek phone bhi nahi kiya" After being absent-minded and anxious all day, he had finally called Pinky to his office. "Pinky, Geet ko bolo ki mujhe appointment letter ka jawab chahiye, mujhe uss se baat karni hai'I mean I need to know her anwer'.asap". "Sir, wohh'.woh sir'..Geet abhi bhi aunty ki wahan hai, mujhe uss se milne ka time nahi mila, usko mein aur papa kal milne jaa rahe the toh mein use appointment letter ki baat tabhi bata dongi"'with a deliberate, practised casualness he asks'"waise uske tabayat ab kaise hai"'"acchi hai, MK, uss se lunch mein baat hui thi, keh rahi thi ke doctor ne aram karne ko kaha hai aur pair ka dhyan rekhne ko kaha hai'.kyunki glass chub ne ki waja se ghav thoda gehra hai" "humm'Ok'good bye Pinky" "Good bye Sir" I knew it, "pair meh laag gaya tha'woh apna khayal bilkul nahi rekh sakti, usse to 24hrs bodyguard ki zaroorat hai'..mera decision sahi tha office mein rahi toh I can keep her safe". Hoping that she was ok, he continued with his work, finally able to focus on it a little. The night that followed had been much like the one before, being unable to sleep despite his best effort he had continued to work through the night. As the days passed, his behavior and mood only worsened, it had been 3 days and he had neither seen nor heard from her. "She even has my private cell number, she could have at least left a message". He had started working late hours into the night to finish office work and had developed an inability to sleep more than a couple of hours due to nightmares about a hurt Geet, and worse nightmares about her leaving and never seeing her again. Though it was necessary to go to the office, that place was a blessing and a nightmare, a blessing because the routines of office kept him from going Insane and a nightmare because he could not be in his office, the hallway, the lunch room, the conference room without seeing figments of her, his memories. He had even dropped the pretence of asking about her because of the appointment letter, and angrily demanded from Pinky the reason why Geet had not called him on the third day. But quickly realizing his behavior due to the stunned look on Pinky's face he had excused himself and left without waiting for the answer.

Feeling Blue...feeling blue..
My heart says...heart says
Can't be'...Can't be true
Oh we can't be through
My heart says...heart says
Can't be....Can't be true
(Sagan aanchal sada hor hove
Sajan ansuvan mein kya jor hove)-2
Kya jor hove, apne jiya pe
Mann to mara ye manchala
Wearily rubbing a hand over his face he rises once again from the bed and walks to the window. Resting his tired body there, he ponders, "Waise bhi mein uska kaun hoon ki woh mujhe apne har sookh dukh ke bare mein bataye, ya woh meri awaz ko sunne ke liye itne bechan ho ki usse raat raat neend nahi atti, verna abb tak ek Maan sir mein thik hoon utna batane ke liye bhi phone kar diya hota". sighing once again, he looks down at his bandaged hand, remembering again the way that Geet had tied the handkerchief around his wound that day. Suddenly angry at himself for how he had been thinking and behaving the last 3 days, being short with everyone and even avoiding daadimaa completely in case she asks him what's wrong, he slams his hand against the window, reopening his wounds. He closes his eyes in pain, opening them again he decides to go to the exercise room. Changing into his sweat pants and redressing his wounds, he moves to the room and starts with his Tai-Chi, hoping to calm his mind and exhaust his body enough to get at least 2 more hours of sleep, before facing another agonizing day.
Pawan purva mein yun udta jaave
Badra Chanda se mann judta jaave
Aave hawa ka, jhonka phir aisa
Toote patang ki dor sa
Jaane kya chahe man...bawra
Jaane kya chahe man...bawra
Ankhiyan mere...sawan chala
Ankhiyan mere...sawan chala
As he is practicing, he feels a soft hesitant hand on his shoulder and his senses become flooded by the unique presence and smell of Geet. With all moment stopped at that first touch, he stands there savoring her feel and slowly turns around. There she stands in a beautiful light pink anarkali style dress with open hair fluttering in the wind, she was looking at him with hesitant eyes and hands nervously playing with her dupptta. Suddenly with a small smile he reaches out to touch her. On seeing the bandage on his hands, she quickly grabs his hands and with eyes asking a thousand questions examines the hand. Satisfied that she could do nothing further for it, she lifts it a short distance to her and coyly places a small kiss on his palm. At his quite exaltation of surprise mixed with a small moan, she turns his hand further and kiss his on the wrist on his fluttering pulse. With eyes glancing at his open chest, she drops the hand and moves steps back, as if broken from a trance. Smiling wider, he brings his attention to his hand and kisses it where she had on the fluttering pulse. Looking up again, he sees her gone.

Part 5: Behka

July 23rd, midnight

Geet lay awake in the lavish bed. Though the pain from her foot was gone and she had never felt more healthy in her life, her mind was restless. Yesterday evening she had finally gotten to see Pinky and Uncle, and had spent an hour convincing them she was fine. From them , she had learnt more in detail what had happened the night she had gotten hurt. She had been surprised, but not much, by their accounts of Maan's actions and behavior; Though she had not spoken to him for two days, her thoughts had often strayed to how he was doing and she had wondered if he was even noticing her absence. Hearing that he had been so frantic, concerned, and how he cared, she had felt the weariness fall from her spirit. She did not know why he affected her so much, and she knew she could not ponder this line of thought before coming to some heart wrenching conclusions, so she pushed it to the back of her mind. She had been delighted to receive the appointment letter but thinking back on her actions on the day of the party, was feeling a tinge of embarrassment and uncertainty. She did not know if she could handle speaking to him without losing coherency, so she had asked Pinky to inform him that she accepted and that if he could call her on her new cell phone number. It had surprised them to see that she now had a cell phone, but she informed them of how she too had been surprised and astonished at finding a cell phone gifted to her by Dadiji after getting a thorough lecture about having it with me at all times in case an emergency ever occurred.
Since this morning, she had been waiting eagerly to receive a call from Maan, but it was now midnight and still there was no ringing. "I hope ke Pinky ne yaad karke Maan ko mera message aur phone number de diya ho. Aab toh late hogaya hai toh mein ushe phone karke pooch bhi nahi sakti…………….oh babaji, yeh ladki ki bhulne ki adat mein, woh yeh baat bhul na gayi ho, par pata nahi………kaal ki baat hai, woh mere cheezo ke saath mere salwar suits lana bhul gayi thi….yeh toh accha hai ki dadiji ne mujhe kuch kapde already diye the pehenne ke liye….warna mera kya hota." Sighing and Knowing she could not do anything about talking to Maan now, but still feeling so restless, she decides to go for a walk around the house.

July 23rd, 1:00 am

On kissing his hand where her lips had touched it, he opens his eyes to find her gone. With eyes widening, he frantically turns his head to search for her. As it has been for the past 3 days, she was no where close to him. Running a hand towards his sweaty hair, he takes a seat on the gym floor. With knowledge that her absence has succeeded in the task which no one else's schemes and seduction had passed, he smiled. Since that night in the rain, he had held at bay with harsh words and actions, this madness of love but today with one soft imagined touch the madness had been completed, he was completely drenched with his feelings and more happy than he had ever been. "Pagal Maan, this is all you have been doing pichle teen deeno se, waiting and imagining, he had seen her everywhere whether it was memories, his dreams, or his hallucinations, at least mujhe khud se kiye sawalo ka jawab mil gaya, ke kyun mein apne aape se bahar chize kar raha tha, ki kyn intna jussa, itni kashis….".
Behka main behka,
Wo behki hawa si aayi,
Ek hi nazar mein sab,
Manzil wanzil paayi,
Hatke alag si thi,
Bilkul juda si, yeahhh
Naa hi adaayein, naa koi angdaayi,
Behka behka main behka behka,
Mehka mehka yeh mann hai mehka,
Behka main behka,
Wo behki hawa si aayi,
Ek hi nazar mein sab,
Manzil wanzil paayi…

Admitting to himself his love had left him feeling powerful, not weak, as he had thought it would. He was still bothered by Geet's lack of communication but now, as before, his ego and fear would not stand in the way of going to Geet. Deciding that tomorrow he would see her at any cost he makes his plans. He did not know how exactly she felt about him, if she thought of him as he thought of her but he had seen the softer emotions in her eyes many times when she was looking at him and knew that though she may not love him, she cared……"I can work with that, kyun ki mein Maan Singh Khurana hoon". Thinking this, he thinks to freshen up but unwilling to confine himself, not when he was finally feeling so free, he decides to go to the swimming pool. As he is walking, his steps unhurried and flowing, he is lost in the thoughts of Geet once again.
Dhadkan dhak dhak dhak dhak hui,
Dil tha tha tha tha tha thayee,
Chaal dagmag mag dagmag mag hui,
Jhomoo jhamak jhama jham,
Rasta takoon takoon takoon takoon mein,
Pal pal jagoon jagoon jagoon mein,
Baar baar badal karwat,
Usko sochu main,
Behka behka main behka behka,

He recalls all the moments that occurred between them since the moment they had met, how even then when he had thought her the enemy, he had been unable to keep away from her and despite his best efforts had worried for her. "Mein soch nahi reha tha, lekin uss se pehle maine Kabhi kisi ladki se itne karib ho ke baat nahi ki thi, na ghusse mein na pyar mein." Recalling her, once again brought her image to his mind, as clear and close as when she was standing toe to toe with him, challenging him. Her big, clear eyes; her beautiful long hair; innocent face; her soft lips…..as he is thinking this, he places a hand near his heart and is amused to find his heart beat fast.
Mehka mehka yeh mann hai mehka,
Guzre jahan se woh raunak udaaye,
Chalke nadi si woh,
Mujhko bheegoti jaaye,
Woh gungunaye, nageenein lutaaye,
Khatta sa bachpan, meethi shararat,
Thoda resham hai, thodi nazaakat,
Kabhi sharmaaye, kabhi lehraaye,
Usmein saahil hai aur jaane kitni gehraayi,

As he reaches the pool, his mind once again goes blank and his eyes gaze. There she sits at the edge of the pool, with her eyes closed, head tilted, legs lazily playing in the water. Her skin glowed, looking ethereal as if she was absorbing the moonlight. Resigning himself to his imagination, he walks closer. Shaking his head, he thinks, "mujhe yeh bar bar aise hi dikhte rahegi toh mujhe sacch mein doctor ke paas gana padega." He walks slowly, as if walking any faster would break the magic of the moment and with unblinking eyes, in case she disappears again. "Kash woh sach mein yahan pe hote, so beautiful she looks with open fluttering hair and wearing a pale blue sari…." Reaching where she was sitting, he goes on his knees, kneeling beside her image. Continuing to stare, his attention focuses on a lock of hair that had become stuck on the side of her face, near her lips.
Behka behka main behka behka,
Mehka mehka yeh mann hai mehka,
Uski boli jaise phoolon ki toil,
Uska chalna rituein badalna,
Jhooth bhi uske sach lage, achche lage,
Sach se bhi bade lage,
Raah mein uski, haath bandhe,
Palke bichaaye hue,
Sar ko jhukaaye hue,
Khushboon se chahye hue,
Taktaki lagaye hue,
Saath saath jaane kitne,
Saare mausam khade rahe..

Restless and unable to stop himself, he moves his hand to remove that lock of hair. He knew she would probably disappear with his touch, but in this like in most things connected with her, he could not help himself. Touching his finger tips to her lips and slowly moving them back, he moves the hair and tucks it behind her ear. Slowly her eyes flutter open, looking deep into his. The eyes that look into his are so happy and soft as if to say, "there you are"
[Behka main behka,
Wo behki hawa si aayi,
Ek hi nazar mein sab,
Manzil wanzil paayi] -2 times
Hatke alag si thi,
Bilkul juda si, yeahhh
Naa hi adaayein, naa koi angdaayi,
[Behka main haan behka behka main
Behka main, oh behka behka behka main] – 3 times

Staring into her eyes and in a state that he is unable to resist, he raises his hand once again to cup her face. As his hand is about to touch her, her eyes blink rapidly as if trying to wake up from a daze. Before he can touch her once again, her eyes widen and she pulls back, scrambling to stand. Confused at his imagination, he moves forward to hold onto her hand, when in her backward movement she loses her balance and falls into the water. The next thing that is heard is a big splash and a loud, paniced voice, Screaming "Maan Bachao". Still sitting rooted in his kneeling position, he is in shock. Quickly shaking himself from the sudden questions in his mind and remembering she doesn't know how to swim, he dives into the 12 feet deep water.

Chapter 6: Jugnoo (1st part)

"Maan Bachao", saying this Geet is struggling against the water, flailing arms and head bobbing uncomfortably in the water. In what seems like an eternity but is only a moment, Maan jumps up from his kneeling position and dives into the water. Quickly grabbing a hold of her, he floats them into the shallow end of the water until his feet touch the swimming pool floor. On reaching the floor, he eases the death grip that Geet has around his neck and lifts her into his arms. Slowly walking up the pool stairs, he carries her over to one of the chaise lounges scattered around the pool. Looking down at her the whole time, he sees that she has kept her hands locked around his neck and has buried her face into his shoulder. Uncaring of why she is here, only that she is Here. He does not speak a word, unable to breath into speech anything.

Slowing easing down he lays her across the chair and as she has refused to let go of his neck, he bends down with her, planting one knee on the chair. When he has finally laid her down, his hands release his hold from under her and instead he plants them on both sides of the chair. Slowly easing back from her hold on his neck, she releases him and realizing their proximity leans back as much as she can on the chair, without breaking their gaze. As she starts to speak, he lifts one hand and lays it on her mouth. Thought he does not know what she will speak, he does not want this moment broken. He had received news of her wellness, but being unable to see her, he had harbored a ball of worry inside him, it was an illogical fear but he had thought that how was she going to care of herself without him there. Seeing her here now, really here, he wanted to look for himself and satisfy the beast inside him, this beast that was urging that he hold onto to this woman and hold her close, so close that they become with one heart so that she was never able to leave him again.

Seeing the look in his eyes, my heart beats rapidly, the darkened gaze, the dilated eyes, eyes gone almost black in feeling, I turn my head, suddenly breathing rapidly unable to take his passion, his feelings. So many questions that my mind had uttered when I had realized that the hand touching me and the man kneeling beside me were real, were

burned away by the heat of his gaze. It was as if I was alive only in the moment with no past, no identity except for that which I saw in his eyes. My hands clutch and un-clutch the sides of the chair, stationed as they were so close to his. I turn my head back again, and try as I can to stammer out something, maybe a why or a how, but with a hot hand suddenly on my mouth all recollections leaves me as to what the question was.

Half expecting to see fear or a rebuke in those beautiful eyes, I am surprised and please to see confusion and passion. Easing back my hand, when I am satisfied that she would not speak again, I drift my hand down and taking both hands, ease them over her fidgeting ones, halting all movement. At that contact, the current which passes through me steals my breath and I am glad to see she too was in bated breath. I close the gap between us and with lips so close, I close my eyes and simply lay my forehead against hers. I cant say how many moments pass us, but when I finally ease back her eyes are still closed. Pulling back more, I finally utter the thought which was running through my mind. "Kyun Geet, ek phone bhi nahi, Tumhe nahi pata mein tumhare bina…., itne bhi kya narazgi mujhse, tumne mere bare mein ek pal ke liye Socha bhi nahi, ke Tumhare na milne par mujhpe kya beeti hogi"

Opening my eyes at the softly spoken question, I am lost in his hurt. Easing my hand from under his, I lay it across his cheek and slowly rub it as if rubbing away a tear. "Ji to bohot kiya, par ghabrati thi, ek pal aisa nahi gaya ki maine tumhare bare mein soch nahi, uss raat tumne kaha uss se daar gayi thi……" Suddenly realizing what I was saying, I snatch my hand away from his surprised face and move it down to ease his other hand off mine. Yeh mein kya keh rahi hoon, Geet tunhe to ye tair kiya tha na ki tu iss sab bato ke bare mein nahi sochegi, toh phir tu yeh kya keh gayi. With sudden movement I dislodge his hand from one side and moving my body off of that side of the chair, I go to run from this madness, before anything else occurs, anything else is asked or said. As I run a few feet forward, I abruptly feel a tug on my saris pallu.
