Love in the time of summer M.L. NARASIMHAM
Director Ramana and Producer Ravikishore tell us about their summer release 'Premante Inthe'. |
FROM THE HEART A moment of romance from the film Koti is at the console at his Sri Paada recording theatre in Punjagutta. Listening to the recently recorded song are producer 'Sravanthi' Ravikishore and director Ramana B.V., as Koti checks on the control panels for a perfect sync between the background score and the voices. The song is being recorded for Sri Sravanthi Movies,
Premante Inthe! "A feel good cinema dealing with the young generation," says Ravikishore. "We have finished shooting the movie. Only the title song remains," continues the producer. "The lifestyle of the modern youth is fast changing. I am talking about the multiplex and coffee shop patrons. It is fine to enjoy such a lifestyle. But most of the youth are confused about friendship and love. Friendship is all about spending time merrily. But to live together for a lifetime, caring and sharing more than friendship, one needs a magic called love. Have the youth ever given this a thought? That is the central theme of the movie." Navadeep and Poonam Bajwa play the lead roles in the movie. "It is a tailor-made role for Navadeep. When Poonam walked into our office, I knew that my heroine had arrived," smiles Ravikishore. Rupali from Bangalore plays the second female lead and has a key role. Sarath Babu is cast as the hero's father while Naresh and Aishwarya are chosen to act as the heroine's uncle and aunt and Sathya Krishnan (remember
Anand) is cast as the heroine's sister-in-law. "She has a natural ease and she just lives in her role." A unique feature is that there is no villain in the movie but features an array of comedians to tickle your ribs.
The focus turns on a new singer the trio is introducing. "Hemachandra has an amazing voice. and has rendered three songs in our film," says the producer who has introduced many a new talents including Laila (Egirepavurama). "His voice perfectly suits Navadeep," chips in Ramana. This is his third venture for Sravanthi Movies and his fourth with Koti. The title song Premante Inthe Mari... written by Seetharama Sastry is played again. As we listen to the melody, Koti says, "Generally we bring in singers from the North, but this time we brought Hemachandra from Mumbai. Initially we wanted to try him with one song, but his voice is so good that he pocketed three of the seven songs. The other two guys, Vineeth and Dabbuji who came first and second in the Sa Re Ga Ma music competition are bound by a contract. Otherwise, they too would have made their debut with the movie." However good his composition might be, it is the filming that makes or mars it, feels Koti. "It is a team effort after all. After watching the six song sequences I am satisfied with the way Ramana has conceived, Shankar has choreographed and Hari Anumolu has shot them. Not to forget the deft editing by Srikar Prasad. The young pair - Navadeep and Poonam's vibrant movements have brought glamour on screen." The combination of Koti and Ravi Kishore has earlier given musical hits such as -
Nuvve Kaavali and
Nuvvu Naaku Nachchav.
From the recording theatre, the song will travel to the scenic Munnar in Kerala. And the voice of Hemachandra and debut singer Chaitra will be transposed on the lips of hero Navadeep and heroine Poonam. "The audience is in for a summer treat," affirms producer Ravikishore.
