Kareena's stepmotherly treatment irks Madhur

The fashion in which she's behaving is upsetting the director; the diva is allegedly favouring Karan Johar's next production over his magnum opus

Madhur Bhandarkar's film Heroine, based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, is in trouble. Kareena is playing hard to get for the schedule of the film, which commences December this year. What is making matters worse is that Kareena is giving preference to Karan Johar over Bhandarkar, who is currently shooting a comedy Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji.

Says a source, "Kareena has told Bhandarkar that she can't shoot for Heroine before March at least. She will shoot for Karan's film from December."

Bhandarkar is left with two dire options: he is either planning to replace the top star or shelve Heroine altogether.

Apparently, the National Award-winning filmmaker has not taken to Kareena's dilly-dallying tactics too kindly. Says a source, "It is natural for Bhandarkar to be upset. How can Kareena move on to a film, which will be directed by a newcomer Shakun Batra? So what if the producer is Karan?"

"Bhandarkar wanted to start Heroine soon after completing Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. He had spoken to Kareena soon after Fashion.

Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji will be complete next month and Bhandarkar was keenly looking forward to put Heroine on the floors. Kareena should not have discriminated between Bhandarkar and Karan. Now, Bhandarkar may shift to a male-oriented subject whose script he is ready with," adds the source.

Bhandarkar and Kareena both remained unavailable for comment. If Heroine does not happen with Kareena, this will be the third time that Bhandarkar and Kareena fail to collaborate, Page 3 and Fashion being the other two instances. Kitne ajeeb hain rishte yahan pe'

One advice Madhur: Pick Deepika or Sonam.

Give them chance to work with a director of a calibre like you...

^err, no! Then the film will have to be titled "Flop Heroine" Yes, Deepika and Sonam are pretty ladies but I dont think they have it in them to carry the weight of an entire movie on their shoulders. Few more trials n then maybe. 😊

Acc. to me, Kareena should've picked Madhur. It would have been a nice opportunity for her to truly exhibit her acting skills but I guess, she's as desperate to work with IK as he's with her (or rather, both are..to work with KJO 😉 )

I don't blame Kareena at all. Kal ho na ho was the biggest hit and kareena missed that opportunity to be part of it so she don't want to repeat that same mistake of turning down KJO's movie, it might be another actress gold if she turns it down. That movie is my all time favorite of Preity

Madhur is part of the best directors, I loved both Page 3 and Fashion so it's a tough decision for bebo. But it's fair to go with Madhur since she's been in talks with him for so long about this movie

I dont believe in this article. Kareena is giving her FULL preference to Heroine at the moment. She's so involved, that a recent article came out and said she's even heavily discussing the script with Madhur. He's giving her documentaries to watch.
Kareena's fully ambitious about this project. So this article seems like bull.

Kareena suits this role to the T. She will nail it with her performance. If the article is true hope she and Madhur resolve there differences and get on with the movie.

If this is shelved its a loss to both of them.

I think Deepika can do a role like this if given a chance.

but for now, I want to see this role played by Kareena. I think her and Madhur would be a powerful combination. She did missed many opportunity to work with him but hopefully this time it's for real.

i personally like deepika, but i think she has lot to go as an actress before she can justify this kind of complicated role!

The movie is about the rise and fall of an actress. I think actresses who had hit and flop at the same time who had no bollywood background connections can relate to this role so they perform better.

This story is to watch out for. I love how Madhur's movies is based on the industry itself. I can't wait for this one. Kareena would give her 100 percent for sure
