A girl in her last year of college walks in, all the guys gaze at her as she walks in her high heels but she just glares, rolls her eyes and keeps on walking.

Diya: Hi Nupur!

Nupur: Hey Diya!

D: It's been forever since we've seen each other!

N: I know right! But now it's our last year in college, after that we'll be doctors!

Diya and Nupur have been the best of friends ever since they were little, however, Diya was always the romantic type and always wanted her husband to her prince while Nupur didn't believe in love at all. Yet they were best friends despite them being complete opposites.

D: Anyways Nupur let's go to Literature, I heard this year, we're going to be reading a lot of love stories

N: What?!?! Love stories?! Ewww, I just hate love!

D: Why is that Nupur, even though I will still never understand you

N: It's because all those people who are love-sick make me want to puke

D: But Nupur, it's those people that make the world a better place

N: Whatever Diya, you'll always know that I hate love and everything about it

Nupur and Diya walk into Literature class

*In the class*

Teacher: Hello class, I am going to be your teacher this year and my name is Tamana Mam. This year we will read a lot of books but during different parts of the year, we will read many love stories

Nupur gags and the guy sitting next to her notices this

Guy: Hey you don't like love stories?

N: Like? I HATE them!

Guy: Same here, by the way, I'm Mayank

N: My name is Nupur

M: Finally, I found a girl

N: What do you mean?

M: Well maine kabhi tumhari jaise ladki kabhi nahi milli

N: Meri jaise?

M: I mean a girl who hates love stories

N: Oh well, now you've found one

Nupur laughs a little

Tamana: Both of you two in the back, be quiet

M & N: Sorry mam

Mayank and Nupur look at each other and smile

*Bell rings*

M: Well it was nice meeting you Nupur

N: You too Mayank

Diya comes up to both of them

D: Chale Nupur?

N: Yeah sure

*In the hallway*

Nupur is thinking in her thoughts

N: (in her mind) Hmmm, Mayank. He seems like a nice guy, and someone I can relate to. But when I was talking to him, something just clicked. We instantly connected!

Diya notices this and tries to get her attention

D: Nupur

Nupur still in her thoughts

D: NUPUR!

N: Oh what? Hi Diya

D: Where have you lost?

N: No where'

D: Is it about that guy you met?

N: What? No! Never!

D: He's pretty cute'

N: Sorry Diya, he's like me, he hates love stories too

D: No way!

N: Yeah! Finally someone who relates to me!

D: Watch Nupur, some day, you will fall in love, and won't even realize it

N: Haha we'll see when that day comes

*2 months later*

Mayank and Nupur are now really close friends and talk to each other all the time, Diya meet Benji and they both start dating.

Tamana: Okay guys, since this month is Romantic Stories month, I'll be assigning you partners and both of you will have to present it in front of the class about the story.

And the pairings are 'Mayank-Nupur, you two will read A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

M: Oh god really?

N: That too, love stories

M: Gosh Tamana Mam

N: I know!

M: Oh well better get started it's due in 3 weeks

N: Urg, but we only have to write the characters, and the main plot

M: Good, nothing more

N: We should go to the library and get the book

M: Yeah let's go

Both go to the library and check out the book and leave to go to Mayank's house as that class was the last one for the day.

N: So let's start reading this boring book, let's see if we can finish it this week, let's read 20 pages a day.

M: Okay

N: Can we read it out loud, this way we both stay awake

Mayank laughs

M: Well it doesn't seem like that bad of a book

N: It does to me. You start reading

M: Urg fine

As soon as Mayank reads the prologue, Nupur falls asleep on his shoulder

M: *smiles* I knew it

Nupur grabs his shoulder, while Mayank silently reads the first 20 pages

-Half an hour later-

Nupur wakes up finding herself sleeping on the couch

N: (to herself) Where am I? Wasn't I suppose to be reading the book with Mayank? Oh god, I fell asleep! But how did I get here?

Nupur starts walking around and sees Mayank in the kitchen.

M: Oh, you woke up finally. Here

Mayank gives her coffee

M: It will help you stay awake

N: What? Why didn't you wake me up?

M: You sounded so peaceful sleeping' and cause you weren't waking up

N: Then how did I get to the couch?

M: I carried you and oh gosh you're heavy!

N: (in her anger tone) Did you just call me fat? Mayank I'm going to kill you!

M: Oh god

Mayank runs for his life and Nupur starts chasing right after him

N: You're dead Mayank!

Nupur jumps on him which Mayank them both fall with Nupur on top of Mayank

Both look at each other for a moment

While Mayank was staring into her eyes he mutters out

M: Sorry, I was joking, but can you get off of me

Nupur realizes that she just tackled him down and gets off of him

N: I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have gotten mad

M: It's okay, at least I found out that the Nupur Bhushan is a lot stronger than you think she is

Nupur smiles brightly

M: Now just promise me one thing

N: What's that?

M: Don't tackle me don't like that again

Nupur just laughs and Mayank smiles while looking at her. After a minute or two, she stops laughing

N: I should really start reading the book right?

M: Let me just narrate it to you, there's a guy named Landon and he talks about when he was 17 he would make fun the other main character, Janie's, dad. And he does a play every year and this year Janie is going to be in it.

N: Great! Sounds pretty okay, yet boring

M: I know, but this project in 10% of our grade, so we have to read it

A week passes and Nupur ends up reading the book too, both of them are now towards the end of the book when Jamie and Landon are about to get married despite Jamie having leukemia

Mayank closes the book

M: And we are done with this book!

N: Finally! But it wasn't a bad book, it was well' cute

Mayank, who was drinking his coffee, was about to spit it out

M: What did you just say? You thought it was cute?

N: Why is that so surprising to you?

M: Because I thought you hate stories like these!

N: I mean if you had the condition Jamie did, then wouldn't you want someone like that to be there for you?

M: Well'

N: See, you probably thought it was cute too

M: I guess

N: Ha! I knew it

M: What do you mean?

N: I could tell you liked the book just admit it

M: Wow Nupur, you know a little bit too well now.

Nupur smiles

*The day of the report due*

Tamana: Mayank and Nupur, you two are up

Both walk up to the class

M: The story we read was A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. The main characters were Landon and Jamie. It was told from Landon's point of view.

N: The story starts out as Landon being 57 years old and how his life changed when he was 17

He has to be in a play with a girl named Jamie and they're love story begins from there

M: When Landon confesses that he loves her, Jamie tells him that she has leukemia.

N: At first Landon was devastated, but he soon realizes that Jamie needs live his last moments with Landon

M: Landon decides to marry her after a few weeks and the struggling walk down the aisle was a walk to remember

N: And that's where Nicholas Sparks gets the title from

M: And the ending wasn't clear if she died or not

N: Because at the end it was said that Jamie could only survive with a miracle and he says that he now believes in miracles

*Everyone claps*

T: Good job both of you guys

N: Thank you mam

Mayank and Nupur high five each other

*Graduation Day*

Today was the last day of college for both Mayank and Nupur. As everyone was giving each other hugs and goodbyes, Benji decides today he was going to propose to Diya and goes tell Mayank and Nupur about it

B: Guys! I need your help

N: What's the matter Benji?

B: I'm proposing to Diya today

Mayank and Nupur both look shock

M: Benji are you sure?

B: Why wouldn't I be? I love her and I know she loves me

N: Par Benji'

B: Par Nupur, main Diya se pyar karta hoon. She's waiting for me right now. Will you two please come with me?

Mayank and Nupur start to follow him to where Diya is

D: Benji! I've been waiting for you. Kaha te?

B: Diya'

Benji goes down to his knees

D: Benji, kya kar rehe ho?

B: Diya, this year has been the best year of my life, and I realized that without you, I'm incomplete, so Diya (he takes out the ring) Will you marry me?

D: Yes!!!

Benji gets shocked and carries hugs Diya

Mayank and Nupur both look at them at start wondering

N: (in her mind) Is this what life really is? Am I incomplete without someone special? And now, when it's the last day, am I leaving a part of me behind?

M: (in his mind) If they are this in love and incomplete without each other, then why do I want to be them? What's going wrong with me? Why do I feel so incomplete?

Mayank and Nupur both stare at each other

M: Nupur'

N: Yes Mayank'

M: You are a great friend but it's now time to say goodbye

Nupur is about to tear up but controls herself

N: Bye Mayank, hum phir milenge, right?

M: Pata nahi Nupur

N: What?

M: I'm leaving for Delhi tomorrow morning and I doubt I'll be coming back

N: Bu'bu.. but why?

M: I'm now going to be doing my internship there and that's where my family is

N: Won't you come back' for me?

Mayank nods his head

M: Goodbye Nupur

Mayank turns and leaves, trying to control his tears falling from his eyes

Nupur stands there ready to break down any moment but Diya comes

D: Nupur! I'm so happy! I found my prince!

Nupur couldn't take it anymore, she breaks down and hugs Diya

D: Nupur, what happened?

N: He left, Diya, hamesha ke liye

D: What? Nupur it's going to be alright. I'm here with you. Now stop crying okay?

Nupur tries to stop crying for Diya but tears were still coming out.

Mayank was at his house remembering the times he spent with Nupur. He didn't want to tell her the truth. The truth was, Mayank was starting to fall in love with her. He wanted to run away from her and everyone.

M: Nupur, I'm sorry. I just can't stand being near you because you have love and it just happened. I just fell in love with you. I'm sorry Nupur, I'm sorry.

Mayank leaves

6 months later'

Nupur, Benji and Diya both worked at the same hospital in Mumbai and Mayank was at Delhi. Both Mayank and Nupur never forgot each other. Nupur tried to be herself but ended up turning into a totally different person.

Benji and Diya's wedding was coming in 2 weeks, and Benji found out Mayank's address in Delhi and invited him and Mayank was thinking this was the only way he would be able to meet Nupur again. He called Benji and told him he was coming

B: Diya, Mayank's coming to our wedding

D: What sach mein?

B: Yes I just talked to him

D: Nupur is going to soo happy

B: But don't tell her yet

D: Why?

B: Let's wait till the wedding; I want them to both be happy

D: Thanks Benji

B: For what?

D: For everything. I love you

Benji smiles

B: Love you too

They both hug

*2 weeks later*

Today was the wedding night. Diya was getting dressed and Nupur was helping her. She was pretending to be happy, but inside, she was torn up. She always wondered "How would my wedding be?"

D: Nupur, kissi ne mujhe yeh chitti di, tumhare liye hai

N: Mere liye?

D: Haan

The note said: Meet me at the terrace in exactly 10 minutes. I'm waiting

Mayank is standing there with his eyes searching for Nupur. Benji walks up to him

B: Mayank yeh tumhare liye hai

(It's the same note Nupur got. Benji and Diya planned this so they would meet privately)

M: Mere liye?

He reads the note and goes to the terrace

*At the terrace*

Mayank is waiting and Nupur walks up to the terrace. He turns the moment she comes in. Nupur gets shocked to see both of them.

N: Mayank?

M: Nupur?

N: Tum yaha?

M: Nupur, mujhe tumse kuch kehna hai

Nupur immediately starts to cry

N: Tum mujhe chor ke kaha gaye? Pata hai ki mein tumse miss kiya?

M: Nupur'

N: Nahin, mujhe bolne do, Mayank I love you. I really do. And I'm so dumb that I realize this when you leave. Why did you leave me here alone when I needed you the most? Aisa kyun? KYUN!

Mayank puts his finger on her lips.

M: If you don't stop talking then when will I ever be able to tell you that I love you?

Nupur smiled hugely and jumped and hugged him as tightly as she could.

M: I love you Nupur!

N: I love you too Mayank!

And this is the story of two haters of love and how two people who hate even the word love come together.
