Lara Dutta opted out of Dharmesh Darshan's 'Aap Ki Khatir'; the official reason given is €€ the usual date problem. But the industry grapevine insists it is Priyanka Chopra who made Lara indirectly to take such decision at the last moment. Lara and Priyanka were supposed to play sisters in 'Aap Ki Khatir'. Incidentally the two former beauty queens had debuted in the same film 'Andaaz', since then Priyanka has made a lot more headway than Lara, and here the trouble lies, according to those in the know.
"Lara obviously got insecure about being in the same frame as Priyanka. Lara's friends are constantly reminding her of Priyanka's wise moves as compared to Lara's own rather shabby career choices. When the two started together in 'Andaaz', they were neck-and-neck. Lara couldn't be happy with how far she got left behind. Coming together for another movie would only have reminded people of the two actresses' differing star value," said a source close to the project. However, Aamisha Patel has been roped in Lara's place. Other wise 'Aap Ki Khatir' would have been in serious problem.
