double standards - marriage & relationships

Hi guys
This is only my second debate posted in dm
So plz forgive me if my post has errors in it
Or if it isn't coherent I've tried my best n hopefully
U guys will get the gist of the debate

The debate is this
Why wen a couple get married
And the wife asks hubby did u have a gf before marriage if he says no fine
If he says yes then most of the time the wife is understanding n wudnt mind and even if she did doesn't let her feelings be known ie she cud take it to heart
Nothing is said abt guys who have gf before marriage
On the reverse if the hubby asks wife if u had any bf before marriage the wife says no fine if she says yes most of the time the hubby wud be devasted
Coz in society girls having bf b4 marriage is frowned upon

My question up for debate is why the double standards here?

Now personally speaking if my wife asked me if I had gf before marriage I wudnt mind telling her
But wud find it awkward to ask her
If she had bf before marriage

Personally speaking I wud be heart broken if my wife told me she had a bf b4 marriage
N I know that wife wud be heart-broken also if I had gf before marriage

So in my case no double stardards

I just want to here all the dmers differing views on this

Keep It a secret. Im soo lucky i've never been in a relationship or had my first kiss ☺️

how about online boyfriends??/ well i would keep them private too thehehe

But i would be devestated if my husband remembered his ex's bday and not mine =( prick =(

Men are jealous and insecure by nature

Aah, IDK! Women are always pointed a finger at, anyway! 😳 Besides, I agree with you on the point where you said that a man's past is acceptable while a woman's past is not.

I'm cynical and I am young so I shall rather not comment on marriage and love 😆 BUT, I realize that everybody has his/her past and the person with him/her who claims to be his/her partner for "life" should accept it. Also, they should in the very first place let their spouse no if they have ever had relationships in the past.

Well, i'd partially disagree here. I would think that this was a reality that was true of Societies, atleast 20 years ago...or 10, if we consider the South Asian nations. Barring extremely conservative rural hamlets, i dont think that sort of a skewed mindset exists anywhere now.

Sometimes they may not have any BFs o r GFs, but may have a crush on someone or some celebrity. It is quite common.

These days we just have to be practical and move on and be practical and make the best of the situation.

If a man can have many wives a woman too should be allowed many husbands. It has to cut both ways.
