Shilpa Anand's Acting.

Since Shilpa Anand has come back in DMG, I have seen many posts where her acting skills have been compared to Jenny's. Obviously, Jenny fans prefer Jenny's acting, and Shilpa fans prefer her acting. Also, there have been topics where people have been saying how SA doesn't act that well.

Although I like KaSh together, I like both SA and JW the same. So from an unbiased POV, I just wanted to say something about SA's style of acting.
The little bit of acting experience that I have, I feel that I can slightly (only thora sa) comment on the actors acting skills.
So, I feel that Shilpa Anand is a very good actress. Infact, comparing her to Jenny would be really wrong because are completely different in their approach towards acting. Jenny is brilliant in her own way, and Shilpa is fantastic in her own.
However, I do feel that Jenny's dialogue delivery is better than Shilpa's. And that is where I feel sometimes SA doesn't act as "well". I remember when they were celebrating 100 episodes of DMG, KSG and SA mentionned how she can't even complete a sentence in hindi. In DMG also, the dialogues are prompted at the back. Hence, I think that the fact that she isn't that comfortable with hindi hinders her from giving her best shot. Sometimes she gets stuck. It is as if she can't remember.
Though, if you watch SA without dialogues, her expressions are out of this world. They are very appropriate, and you will know exactly what she is thinking without actually listening to her. Sometimes her facial expressions are OTT, but then everybody's expressions in DMG are OTT.
Also, no matter how different the character your playing is to you, you play the character as if it was you. Which indirectly causes the character to become more and more like you. For example, Jenny's portrayal of Riddhima is more gentle than Shilpa's was or when SA used to get annoyed of Armaan, she used to grit her teeth and shout "erghh", but Jenny used to open her mouth and then close it sort of blow.
Lastly, I would just like to clarify that I think she is a brilliant actress and for me she always played Riddhima the best, but sometimes I feel that she isn't comfortable with the language. Though, she is getting better.
ps This topic is for everyone and anyone as long as they don't start talkin irrelevant and baseless things. PLEASE DON'T BASH.
Mods, if you feel this topic will cause bashing, feel free to close it.

That's a nicely put post and not sure if this topic will be closed because we're not allowed to have comparison topics on I-F. However, this has been well written so I hope it isn't closed.

Even though no-one here will think I'm saying this from an unbiased view but I actually came across both SA and JW for the first time through DMG. I hadn't seen any of Jenni's previous work so had no opinion of her whatsoever till I randomly caught an episode of DMG.

At most, I can call SA a decent actress. Definately not brilliant by any means because I don't see the reality in her acting that I see in Jenni's. You said SA's expressions are really good but I would disagree there. I think an actor should know what kind of expressions they are giving so they can control what they're expressing but I don't think SA has that restraint expression-wise. Personally, I feel the difference between the two actors is that SA 'acts' while JW feels and absorbs the character so much that you find it hard to differentiate between the actor and the character she is playing. Riddhima has been so messed up but I think JW has risen above her role. Take Shilpa and Riddhima's first scene together, the latter was given dialogues which would make you hate the character even more while Shilpa (the character) was the one we sympathised with. I think the Shilpa the actress has really nice and pretty eyes but Jenni with her poise, her dialogue delivery was so powerful that I was just watching her in awe. But that might be just me...! I am biased now.

So I can respect anyone who prefers SA over JW but I would never agree that sentiment.

Hope this topic can be discussed respectfully.

Reemz definetely agree with you, its called apni apni nazariyan

u feel shilpa acts jen feels. like I feel the reverse. apni apni taste some like bugers some hate them.

some like loud , some like calm going

some like tears some like fun, masti depending on all this we choose our actors

some feel few actors cry well but I feel not feel its true shilpa cries the best.

Just one example : when shilpa played ridhima and when she finds about the bet between armaan & anjali , she goes & cries in her bedroom like a small child not child actually she cries like you & me not for the camera. her cry is not beautiful but is naturawatch that scene shilpa in pink ghaghra.

not to offend you but thats my observation.

Already one of the member posted an article about this. Even I feel the same.
the actors who cry with glamour always rock on screen but the actors who cry really like us will not coz if we cry we wont look beatiful while crying & we don't see in the mirror whether we r beautiful while crying

still i say shilpa's eyes r enough to do the needful.
