What happened to the free spirited Ichhki

How can CVs do this? They showed the child Ichha who was free spirited, spunky, spontaneous and someone who was willing to carve out her own destiny. Now she is seen as this brainless, meek girl who cannot see reason (not wanting to continue Vansh's treatment because "he would be so upset") who is so scared of Tappu and will not speak up against injustice. The serial was so refreshing in the beginning because I thought here's one character who will speak up against wrongdoings without being a doormat. But Ichha turned out to be just another doormat. Or is it because Tapu's character is more vivacious that CVs continue to show her triumphing?
