Over these months, i have come across so many memorable songs in this forum and sgmp, songs that i remembered and songs that were long lost in the sub-consciousness. And i am grateful for the memories they brought back. In that spirit, and in a spirit to "Lets Get To Know You Friends" thread by Bhaskar, i was hoping we could learn more about some of those songs which should be on everyone's list and in the process know more about you through the music you like.
So, if you were putting together your top songs of all time, what would they be? Your top 5, or 10, or 20 or even 50? Feel free to use different categories eg. ghazals, pop (maloom nahee Indian music mei aur kya kya hai, but we get my point?). In fact, it would be nice if someone can suggest categories.
Another way of looking at it is if you were starting a new music collection with say 20 CDs or songs, what would they be?
For those who prefer to not give their own choices, they can use a list compiled from some of the various greatest hits collections.
Of course, please use whatever creative method you can muster to express your preferences.
It would also be interesting to see if your choices or rankings stayed the same over time, or if these changed based on your latest mood.
MUSIC-GENERAL WARNING:
Of course, would love to have some nok-jhok here, strong or otherwise. If you disagree with someone's choices, go for it (of course within whatever rules of play that are in force). Personally, i would learn more from seeing an exchange between people (even if directed against me). Feel free to add what it is you like about your song or preferences, or what it is you do not like about someone elses.
If we keep this free of galee-galoch, maybe at least i'll come across some of those long-lost treasures.
