I was an extra 2day too....and they were shooting at a courthouse on Chambers Street. The ornate lobby was supposed to be the lobby for the ballet theatre. SRK, Rani, Preity, and Abhishek were all there today. The basic setup for the scene was SRK and Preity go to the ballet and run into Abhi & Rani. Abhi greets Preity by kissing her on the cheek...some banter b/w the couples...then SRK kisses Rani on the cheek but w/ romantic tension, lingering glances before they push aside Abhi and Rani to get to the show. They did the scene over and over for hours, filming it from different angles. Us extras were the ppl milling around in the lobby, chatting, walking, holding glasses of champange. The four stars looked grrrreat today! SRK was wearing a black suit with a dark red shirt; he walked in w/his trademark white-framed glasses. Abhi was wearing a black suit with a black/pink/purple striped shirt...and looked hot! Preity was wearing a black and white evening gown with side cutouts. Rani looked amazing in a gold glittery sari. Shahrukh and Abhi seemed to joke around alot. SRK definitely seems to go over ideas on how to enact a scene, not just with himself but the other actors, being very involved. After filming that basic scene for hours, they filmed another scene where SRK and Preity walk down a red carpet to enter the theater. I was a lucky gal chosen to walk behind them on the red carpet. I was thrilled to be soo close to him.....he seems so natural amidst the cameras and craziness.
The coolest part was that Preity, Abhi, and Rani ate their lunch near the extras. My friend and I were about to unknowlingly sit at Preity's table while she was eating till her bodyguard guided us away. Abhi and Rani ate together and seemed pretty flirtatious. He grabbed her arm and started scratching?stroking? her arm while she screamed with laughter...wink wink.All in all, a verrrrry long day but FUN!
Later on, Preity and Abhi came as well, and later on in the evening we shot a scene with the rest of the extras. I had to hold this heavy tray with glasses on it, and I got to pretty much stand behind Rani and Abhi sitting at the table, watching Rani's grace, and Abhi's antics. I loved the atmosphere. It was really quite amazing. And something I will never forget. So, during the beginning of one of the songs, if you see a girl showing flowers to Rani - that would be me. My two seconds of fame .
Rani was also there....BUT GUYS ,PRAY THAT THEY DID CATCH A COLD ..IT WAS FREAKING COLD IN NY...AND BOTH OF THEM WERE SO LIGHTLY DRESSED....I felt like taking off my down coat and putting it on Rani between takes...you could see both of them were freeezing
SRK was rubbing Rani's hand trying to warm them up..
Preity and Abhi also came for a quick scene.Abhi was very sweet, he took of his down jacket and put it on Rani..
At one point, my friend and I got so tired, we went out for a walk and Abhishek and Rani were there eating/standing and me and my friend got stared down by Abhishek and I loved every second of it ...hahaha..I think that was the only thing worth my while > And then Rani kinda slapped Abhishek on his shoulders and said "Abhi, stop" (as in stop staring). I don't even know why we got stared, I am no Rani or Preity...and neither is my friend...
