How about her being excited?

I mean don't forget she is in her teens when all these feelings are new to you, someone telling you for the first time that the like/love you can arise all sorts of emotions in you ... and she might go through the same feelings

And that is where Onu i think will start moving back and the concept of sacrifice will set in
