Armaan Mallik(18): In his senior year of high school. Loved by everyone in the school (except for Shilpa). Can't stand tears and especially hates being made fun of. Confident, good looking (and he knows it), smart (somewhat), and an all-round playboy with a nice heart.Talk about an oxymoron.
Shilpa Malhotra(17): In her senior year of high school. Treated like a princess by all the guys (except for Armaan) , and treated like a sister by all girls. Enjoys matchmaking people, and can't stand seeing the people she likes hurt. Smart, witty, saracastic, good looking, and sassy, but an overall sweet girl.
Rahul Garewal(17): In his senior year of high school. A sweet guy, with a partially evil mind. Doesn't like seeing people unhappy, but is extremely good at hiding his emotions. He masks himself really well, and is extremely perceptive.
Muskaan Chadda(17): In her senior year of high school. A bubbly, fun-loving girl who like to prank people. Doesn't like people who don't like her friends.Extremely loyal. Is the happy-go-lucky type.
Atul Joshi(18): In his senior year of high school. Loves the nature and can't stand seeing it destroyed. Is a very sweet, and considerate guy but can't help but make blunt comments at times. Is able to cheer anyone up in an instant with his strange manners and habits.
Anjali Gupta(18): In her senior year of high school. The 'it' girl of the school who's nice and loves her friends. Like to give everyone a reality check when they start dreaming which sometimes results in them not liking her. Can be
very hostile towards enemies. Hates people who make fun of others. Very
straightforward at times.
Part 1: The Revelation
Armaan knew that something was wrong when his father asked him, "So, how
are things going at university?" He was in HIGH SCHOOL.
He knew there was something even more wrong when his mother questioned,
"Are you able to make friends?" He was in his SENIOR year.
But he never knew that World War III was about to start soon when his parents inquired, "Are you well acquainted with Mr. Malhotra's daughter?"
"Why?" he finally asked summoning up all his courage. Shubhankar and
Keerti sighed before exchanging glances silently. Armaan became even more worried.
"Why?"
he repeated again. There were a lot of troublesome ideas running around in his
head as answers to that one word question. Ideas that he did not like or
approve of one bit.
"No reason" Subhankar replied "Finish your dinner."
"But I've already finished my dinner" replied Armaan as he stared at his empty plate.
"Then have some more."
"But I don't want anymore."
"You're a growing boy, you need more protein" replied his mom sternly
before scooping and dumping food on his plate.
At that point, Armaan was ready to jump off a cliff, because he knew
something terrible, something very, very terrible was going to happen. However,
thanks to being around Shilpa a lot, he had more self control than an average
human being.
Shilpa plopped down on the bench beside Muskaan ready to silence all of them with just a single statement.
"Where were you?" Muskaan asked.
"What were you thinking being so late?" Anjali yelled.
"Are you okay?" Rahul looked concerned.
"Did you blow something up during chemistry?" Atul questioned.
"Back so soon?" Armaan asked with fake cheeriness.
Shilpa looked around at the group before her eyes settled on Armaan and
she spoke casually, "Our parents are trying to hook us up, you know."
Everybody's heads snapped up to stare at Armaan and then Shilpa.
A chorus of "What!?" filled the table, before Armaan stared into her
eyes, tilted his head a little bit and asked sweetly with a smile plastered on
his face, "Did you hit your head again, Malhotra?"
Shilpa mirrored his fake smile before replying, "It's true, Mallik"
Rahul was the first one to recover from the shock and asked "Are you on
crack?"
"No, of course not, my lovely Rahul," Shilpa spoke "Why would I be?"
"That's it," spoke Anjali "She's high."
"Are you stoned?" asked Atul.
"No" replied Shilpa rolling her eyes. Honestly, sometimes her best
friends could have such an over active imagination.
"Okay, Shilpa, we're asking you this, because we care about you,"
Muskaan assured Shilpa "But are you on drugs?"
"Seriously, guys?" Shilpa asked unbelievingly as she grabbed a fry off
of Rahul's plate.
"Hey! Get your own fries," replied Rahul pushing his plate away from her.
[P]"Whatever. Don't believe me if you don't want to, but if your parents
mention anything about marriage, I'll be the first one to say 'I told you so'"
Shilpa replied confidently.
/P]Armaan was intent on ignoring what Shilpa had said for as long as he could, but sadly luck was not on his side.
Should I continue the story or not?
