Balka Vadhu completes 500 episodes and the cast and crew get ready to jump five years ahead and work with an older Anandi as well
Colors' Balika Vadhu, produced by Sphere Origin, has umpteen reasons to celebrate, and the latest is that the show completed 500 episodes on July 1st.
Balika Vadhu is also slated to take a generation leap of five years in mid-July.
The channel in a unique initiative has come up with a poll wherein the viewers have been given the liberty of choosing their future Anandi. The three girls shortlisted for the role include Pratyusha Banerjee [A] from Jamshedpur, Nivedita Tiwari[B] from Lucknow and Ketaki Chitale [C] from Mumbai.
However, according to the rumours , it's Jamshedpur's Pratyusha Banerjee who is said to be finalized as the new Anandi. The channel is expected to make an announcement on this in a few days.
We spoke to Sujoy Wadwa, producer of the show to get his reaction on the completion of 500 episodes and about the new Anandi . "Our concept was different from the rest of the shows, which is what worked in our favour. We are getting into a new phase in Anandi's life, with the five-year leap, so it's a challenging period for us."
About Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee, he said, "It was great to have young talent and because of them, our show did well."
Later on we asked him whether there would be a similar poll for Jagya as well? "It would be different strategy that we are planning for his character," he said.
