The show has taken a 3 year leap after Nupur's death in an accident. The gang is not the same anymore... Samrat is now the Trustee of the same college he studied in. Mayank and Gunjan hold Samrat responsible for Nupur's death and want nothing to do with him. Though he is guilty of what happened 3 years ago, Mayank and especially Gunjan does not want him in their lives. Mayank, on the other hand, is an engineer who has studied in the US. Gunjan works as an academic counsellor now. The four new students in Excel college are Nirbhay, Riya, Rohan and Ash. They remind us of Mayank, Nupur, Samrat and Gunjan's friendship. How it turned from being sour to the relationships of a lifetime!
Gunjan, Sanaya Irani
"When in college, Gunjan was always knows for her calming effect thanks to her contemplative nature. She has always been the responsible of the siblings, never once doing anything rash or silly. She would go through all the pros and cons much to the irritation of the elder sister Nupur. By the end of graduation, she gets engaged to her love Samrat, but that relation wasn't to last. Gunjan who lost her mother when she was very young, looked up to her sister Nupur for support, and when Nupur dies in the road mishap – she takes to blame her ex-fianc and college sweet heart Samrat. They break up post the incident and she wants nothing to do with him, not even see him. The sweet charming, shy, reclusive and studious Gunjan, post graduation has become a student counsellor - apt for her persona. She still likes to live a simple non-complicated life. She feels all alone in the city, her closest relative now is her sister's husband - Mayank and they keep in touch with each other.
Mayank - Arjun Bijlani"Mayank is a straight and focused academic. He is witty, well read, smart and intelligent and understands that hard work is what is going to help achieve goals for him. Like they say opposites attract, Mayank and eventually falls in love with Nupur, a girl completely opposite his character. Mayank has now relocated to USA and has become an engineer. Mayank also blames Samrat for the death of his wife. He is invited as a professor at his own college – Excel and he hates the fact that he has to work along with Samrat. "
Samrat - Mohit Sehgal
"Samrat was known as the hero of Excel college. Cool Dude... Fun loving and famous thanks to his good looks as well as for being the top sportsman in the college. Girls drooled over him. He loved to play pranks on his friends and one such irresponsible behaviour cost him his friend's life and hence all his friends and the joy of his life. Samrat has now become the trustee of Excel College, where he himself had graduated from. He has become the person he would have hated if life hadn't been so harsh on him – a strict disciplinarian who has deleted the word 'fun' from his life. He is at the edge of life. "
Nirbhay - Meer Ali
"The smart and intelligent entrant as the new batch at Excel. He comes up with peppy Hindi one-liners and impresses all and sundry around him. Nirbhay is an intellectual. Though he is a fresher in the college he already has a rival, Rohan. Nirbhay and Rohan cannot stand each other. "
Rohan - Nkhil Chaddha
"Arrogant and rash - Rohan is a brat who comes to college only for fun. He has always been surrounded by girls. He likes to play pranks on others. He does not have a soft corner for Ash but now he just wants to conquer Ash by any means. Rohan is a flamboyant Casanova. Whatever he does in life, he does it only for fun, he is super rich so he doesn't follow girls, they follow him. He is a hard core party animal. He has an edge over Samrat. He is a modern replica of him."
Ash - Sreejita De
"Tomboyish - Ash is not scared of anybody. She understands life better but at the same time, she is not bothered about her life. She thinks life is a death race but behind her attitude, there is a story. Her attitude is an extreme one. For Ash there are no dreams because she wanted to get rid of life. She is living to die. Her aspirations are zero. She loves to be in her own world. Her dreams are dead. She is not a typical simple and studious college going girl, she is a drop-out and doesn't like to make friends. She is waiting for death."
Riya - Kriti
Riya is Rohan's sister and is very sweet and innocent. She doesn't care much of what people have to think about her but is an attention seeker. She flaunts the right kind of attitude and is the style icon of the college. Her look very western and she can be seen experimenting with it on the show. She is inspired by Paris Hilton and loves to accessorize herself. she comes to Excel with an excellent track in applied arts.
