To all the mjht season-1 fans, first of all a biiig hug! i miss MAYUR and SAJAN as much as u guys do, and i desperately wish the CVs hadnt slaughtered this wonderful show. which is why i have for you an alternate season 2 plot...something that i would have wanted to see...and i believe, had THIS been on air, mjht would have had doubled TRPs, and rati wudnt have left the show. but anyway, whats not be wont be. so gham manane se better, kahani sunte hain!

You guys may find it sort of filmy, but thats how i am and its got a reincarnation essence to it.
its like, the car accident does happen, but ALL the 4 die. and now they are born again and are going back to Excel...in slightly different avtars, and definitely different names...but even the names have a past connection.

Samrat is now SAMAR MALHOTRA...similarly fun and popular but more thoughtful this time.

Mayank is now MANAV MALHOTRA...similarly intelligent and charming but more light hearted this time. Samar and Manav are brothers in my season 2!

Gunjan is now SARGAM CHOPRA...her charecter is more flamboyant and fashionable this time, but not mono-dimensional. there's more to her which will be revealed eventually.

Nupur is now PAYAL MUKHERJEE...she'll play a serious and entertainingly sarcastic character with a softer side which will be revealed later. Sargam and Payal are not sisters this season but they'll be best friends later.

SCENE 1 [Prologue and introduction]

The speed was killing…movements swift. The jeep was going to crash, it was evident. But how? How could the brakes have failed? The jeep was new, and he had driven it before…what had gone so wrong today? But what was the point? They were all going to die.
Die…
Die…

This highway route was a bad idea. There was nobody who could help even if they didn't die completely. The jolts were rude, and the car was almost tattered. They were all terrorized, and at the same time under an inexplicable paralyzed state. The kind of stiffness that comes when you know you are going to die!
So it was all going to end before it began…all the love, all the promises, friendships, and so much more…everything was just going to crash and burn into an eternal nothingness? Was this fair? But well who cared now? In his daze he saw vague flashes of his entire life...his college, his friends, his life. it was like some slow motioned film. But this was no time to review lives. He was going to die in the next five minutes and he would never see them again!
He could hear himself screaming, his friends yelling for fate's mercy…and her…he couldn't hear her…she had fallen out of the jeep already! O my God she was already dead? No!
The present shot back like a sudden dash from slow motion to a frenzy fast.
The jeep hit a rock and the vehicle smashed. Jagged parts exploded everywhere. He knew this was it. So this is how it felt to die. The final thing he realized was that he was the last one to die…and she was not around. She was already dead. This thought alone knifed him into making a painful hurl at destiny. They had all died…people he loved. And he couldn't do anything about it. But he had to.
Somehow…
Sometime….
Because he knew who was behind this throbbing apocalypse…
The remains of the jeep were still burning...metaphorically, like his own burning exasperation. Suddenly a charred piece of glass came from nowhere and cut right into his chest. What a burning sting –

He got up in a start! It had been the same nightmare again. And this time so vivid. He was sweating profusely. "God all I want is this thing to stop" he mumbled to himself in disconcert. "No, all I want is a glass of chilled Evian."
He got up from his bed and dragged himself to the kitchen. In the adjoining room, the lights were still on as usual. "You've got to be kidding me… He's still studying?" Thinking this he walked into the room and saw to his amazement that he was right. His brother was still studying.
"Hey genius! Still up buddy?" he asked cheerfully.
No reply. "Yo Novy…hey!" he shook his brother by the shoulder.
"Huh!" Novy looked up, startled. "What? Wassup?"
"Tum soye nahi abhi tak?"
"Haan bas sone hi jaa raha tha," Novy replied back, preoccupied.
"Yeah right, who to dikh hi raha hai. C'mon bhai, hum dono ko Mumbai ke sabse best college me admission MIL chukka hai! Past tense you see. Kal college ka pehla din hai, koi exam nahi. Raat ke 2 baj rahe hain. You've gotta chill buddy!" he told Novy with a smile.
Novy smiled back warmly. "I know Sam... But… Hey waise tum kyu jag rahe ho?"
Sam looked away at this. His smile faded. "Manav…wo…"
Manav looked concerned at this. "Wahi sapna?"
Sam nodded slowly. Manav placed his hand reassuringly on his shoulder. "Don't worry bhai, sapna hai. And zaroori nahi hai ki sapne hamesha pleasant. I know Freud ne kafi kuch kaha hai on why we dream and unka matlab kya hai, but what the hell! At the end of the day, yeh sab subjective hi toh hain. Tum itna mat socho…just relax."
Sam looked gratefully at him, feeling better already.

He had been having these vivid nightmares ever since he was 14. And in all these four years, the dreams had kept getting clearer. The fear, the chill, the pain…everything. But frustratingly enough, Sam could never see the faces of his dream characters. Only recently he had started to see himself. He wanted to know more, he wanted to dig deeper. But his brother Manav never encouraged him at this. And he was Sam's only solace, who comforted him every time an otherwise jovial Sam became serious.
Samar Malhotra and Manav Malhotra were not siblings per se. They were actually cousins, but everyone called them the "Siamese twins" because they were inseparable, and were even born on the same day! Their fathers were siblings, and were both very affluent. Manav was originally from Delhi, and every summer vacation he fondly looked forward to coming to Mumbai and having a blast with Samar.
But that vaccation everything had changed. Both the boys had turned 12 and were dying for their seasonal get together. Everything was happening the same way as it always did. Manav and his parents went to the airport, checked, Manav made his last call to Samar from the Delhi airport like always, and then they boarded the flight after a twenty minutes wait. And then the plane crashed. Only nine people survived, and one of them was Manav. His parents had succumbed.
The rest of the year was a blur for him. He remained quiet most of the day, and at night he would cry himself to sleep. This was the phase though, where Samar and Manav bonded the most. This is when they unknowingly metamorphosed into Sam and Novy. They would spend all the time together, because now they went to the same school, swimmed and played together, studied together and spent the rest of the time in their favourite spot on the attic talking endlessly about nothing in particular.
Manav would often ask, "Why did I have to survive Sam?"
And Samar would gently tell him, "Maybe because there are things you need to do. Your time wasn't up. And also because I needed you…" At this they would both break down and cry.
Within two years, Manav started recovering. Samrat's parents officially and emotionally adopted Manav as their own son, and loved him dearly. Their father merged his deceased brother's business with his own empire and opened a charitable institution under his name. And gradually, the Malhotras became a happy foursome.

Samar felt more relaxed now. "Thanks bhai, tum nahi hote toh pata nahi…"
"Ab agar maine vice versa bola toh aur senti mat hona!" Manav laughed. Sam smiled.
" Accha ab so jaiye genius! Kal college bhi jana hai. The malhotra brothers are gonna ROCK Excel!"
Manav laughed at Sam's zest. "Haan bas abhi…actually kya karu physics hai hi itni interesting!" he said with an intelligent glint.
"I am sure…but basketball se nahi!" Sam replied in his charming undertone.

[CUT TO EXCEL COLLEGE] [End of the first day, in the Detention Hall.]

"WHAT!!! Are you kidding me! College ke pehle din hi detention?!!! You can't do that!" she shrieked at the professor.
"Well young lady, I sure can. College me itne chote kapde pehenna allowed nahi hai!"
"Oh come on inki insult mat kariye sir!!! Yeh chote nahi hai! It's a Prada for God's sake!!! They are supposed to be stylish! Andstylish lagne ke liye knee se 3 inches chhota hona to banta hai na!" she complained as she pushed her glossy hair back and angrily pouted.
"Fashion ke bare me to bahot janti ho, itni knowledge professors ki respect karne me hoti to shayad tumhe excuse kar bhi deta. But now, 2 ghante ki detention fixed!" the professor said firmly.
"Oh come ON sir!" she angrily stomped her foot. "Dekho mere daddy ko pata chalega to accha nahi hoga ok!"
"Really? Toh aap humare trustee se hi kyun nahi mil leti 2 ghante baad? Wahi samjha denge aapko rules and regulation…and kiska accha hoga aur kiska bura!" he said sarcastically, and started to leave. She started to make a face, just then he suddenly turned back. "What was your name again?"
"Sargam. Sargam Chopra," she yawned.

Sargam was a stunning looking eighteen years old, with a rich dad and loads of credit cards. She got popular anywhere she went and was hoarded with attention because of her looks and wealth. But not many people knew of her kinder and affectionate side. Although she did come across as spoilt and plastic on the apparent…but nobody cared to find out how affectionate, helpful, kind and generous she really was; how much she loved dogs; and how much she loved the Mumbai street food.
And how well she could sing.
Sargam was only received as a gorgeous heiress who always either threw a fit, or was otherwise too moody and quiet. Nobody saw how lonely she really was.

Sargam scanned the detention hall and saw another girl, and a boy in the room.
"Cute," she thought to herself. But did not react.
The boy had been looking at her since quite long though, mesmerized and drawn. He had noticed every expression of hers. The way she had screamed and hit-the-roof; the way she had made at the faculty; the way she had defended her dress, which by the way looked so good on her; the way she had pouted; and yet again the next moment had resigned with a sullen expression, realizing that all this won't get her out of the punishment. She was so delicate, so precious…
Idly he looked at the entrance of the hall, and was suddenly surprised. "Bhai? Why on earth are you here?" he blurted out, half concerned, and half glad to have some company finally.
Manav laughed. "Detention, aur kya. Classes over hui to pata chala tumhe detention mili hai. To maine socha akela ghar jaunga to ma poochengi tum kyu nahi aye. And main jhooth bolunga nahi. To maine socha akela kya karu…toh main bhi ruk gaya!"
"Tum bhi na Bhai," Samar chuckled as they both high fived.
"Aur aap? C'mon Sam pehle din hi basketball se principal ke room ka air conditioner damage kar diya?"
"Arey yaar Novy, basketball jaise rocking game ko khelte time AC and coolers ki chinta nahi karte! Ab agar principal ne pyar se kaha hota to unke liye nayi AC mangwa deta yaar…but nahi…toh theek hai! Apni khatara AC ko theek karwate raho!" and they both laughed hysterically.

"Excuse me! Do you guys mind?" a firm and slick voice was heard. The boys looked ahead in a start and even Sargam turned back.
A dusky girl with a dynamic face and beautiful eyes was looking at them sternly. She was doing her homework and was obviously disturbed by all the titters. She wore a short black fabindia kurti and saffron cotton Patiala without a churni. Her hair was let loose over her shoulders, and there was something very magnetic about her.
Samar started to apologize but Manav stopped him. "Listen whoever you are, this is a common room. We are all entitled to do what we want here, and you are no authority to stop us," he marked out seriously.
"Ahaan? Good. Good that you know the law. But since what I AM doing is academics and what YOU ARE is plain man-gossip, I must get the weightage here…because this common room belongs to a university, not some social club!" she remarked powerfully.
"Really…you want to discuss academics –" Manav had started to brew angrily but Sam pulled him down.
"C'mon Novy..chill yaar…ladki hai. Who bhi khubsurat! Jane de na," he cajoled. Sargam had got bored by then and got back to filing her nails.
"Who cares? Mujhe academics ke bare me bata rahi hai?" he was fuming.
"Bhai usko pata nahi hai na yahan pe Einstein kaun hai… But please tum yahan par bhi school ki tarah mat karna…only parhai and no lugai!"
Manav had to smile at this. Sam came up with the craziest one liners.
"Ab tum chup rehna and let me make it up," Samar told him. Manav just shrugged.
"Excuse me, hello..." Sam called out. The girl in black kurta looked back.
"Now what?" she asked impatiently.
"Attitude…blah!" Manav muttered under his breath.
"Kuchh kaha?" she asked looking at Manav. He ignored.
Sam kicked him under the table and smiled politely at the girl instead. "I am really sorry we disturbed you, Miss – "
"Payal. Payal Mukherjee." She replied densely.

Payal was an externally serious and studious teen, but she could be a lot of fun to be with. Just that most people were too scared of her to hang around with her. She had a sarcastic side, but never went overboard with it to hurt anyone. There were only two things she really loved. Psychology and dancing. She had a natural flair for this performing art, and really felt one with nature when she danced.

"Hi Payal, I am Samar. This is my brother Manav."
"Good for you," she said, and turned back to her notes.
"Whoah…feisty! Bro she is your kinds," Sam whispered with a friendly snicker.
"Shutup Sam!" Manav shot back.
"Hahahahhaha main chup hi ho jata hoon," Sam declared, amused.

Just then, a man wearing a suit in his forties, with an aristocratic look, entered the hall with a set of papers in his hand. "Samar Malhotra, Manav Malhotra, Sargam Chopra and Payal Mukherjee," his voice boomed.
"Present," they all said respectively.
"Present, but not ashamed," he said, still not looking up, busy with sorting the papers. "First day of college and detention? Samar Malhotra for damaging college property, Sargam Chopra for inappropriate dressing, Payal Mukherjee for arguing with teacher, and Manav Malhotra for undefined misconduct. As the trustee of excel I am not going to take this lightly. My eyes will be on the four of you. They don't call this college the best one in Mumbai, and me the best authority for nothing. Don't forget, mera naam Rannvijay Rathore hai – "
He looked up as he spoke the last sentence and froze.
It couldn't be. THEM? The four of them? Alive? But hadn't he taken care of everything…? Then how come…
And yet here they were. Four dangerously familiar faces looking at him. One bored, another indifferent; one somber, another amused.
But how come they were still young… No, they were not the same people. And yet this was too much of a coincidence to be ignored.

The five of them were back under the same roof.

The genesis of the unbelievable had begun…

You know....as much as i don't like the reincarnation stuff cuz its too ektaish....
but this way the story will get a new dimension AND it won't be boring because all the love stories will re-begin...
although pple might not like seeing mayank and sam as brothers and gunjan as more flamboyant and fashionable and nupur as more serious but i think it would've added a whole new dimension and pple would've liked it much better because then the CV's would've had a chance to re-create the love story aaalllllll over again....
maybe the names would've been the names...but anyways very nice and creative...
