That part was really good.....they are still in their denial mode......trying to figure out their feelings......and the Geet and the baby part was cute......aww....she was worried how Maan would react upon knowing the truth......and the precap......sounds interesting! Do continue soon and thanx for the PM!

I know you all would like updates as soon as possible, but the next one is going to take a little longer. Elevator scenes are not as easy as you might think. However, the next part is going to be a whole lot longer than the others, so hopefully that will make up for the delay. 😳

Anyway, I've been too much into the habit of staying up late, and it has caught up with me. Me very 🥱

Edited to add: well there is the next part, hope you find it satisfactory. Also, remember Sasha when she's complaining that "MK is not MK", that's how I picture her acting in this scene.

Nothing Can Keep Us Apart

Part 4 - After our adventure.

Finding himself finished with the files nearest to him, Maan looked up and noticed that Geet was frowning. Supposing her to be worried about when they would be rescued, he opened his mouth ready to reassure her. Just as he was about to speak "Sir" came over the intercom. Slightly frustrated at being interrupted, but realizing that he needed to respond to the man waited to speak with him rather than Geet, Maan replied "Yes?"

"Sir, the elevator is stuck between floors. It's not possible to get it moving right now. We're going to try forcing the doors manually."

"Is the elevator in a position such that we will be able to get out safely?" questioned Maan.

"Yes, Sir. The elevator is stopped about three feet below the 4th floor. Once the doors are open you both should be able to climb out without a problem."

"Excellent. How soon do you intend start forcing the doors?"

"Within the next five minutes, Sir."

"We'll be ready." Maan looked back at Geet and said, "They should have the doors open soon. Stop going through those files and put everything in one pile. It can be sorted through later."

Geet nodded. She began gathering the rest of the loose papers and files and stacking them up. Just as she was finishing she heard strange metallic sounds.

"What was that?" Geet asked with panic in her voice, standing up quickly and looking at Maan with worry in her eyes.

"It's nothing to be frightened of," Maan responded. He walked over to Geet and placed his hand reassuringly on Geet's shoulder as he explained to her how the engineers needed to release the elevator safety mechanisms before they could open the doors. "Geet I want you to pay attention to me carefully. When the doors are opened you won't be able to just walk out of the elevator as you normally do. You'll have to climb out carefully because there is a space between the elevator and the shaft. If you're not careful you could fall through that space." Geet's eyes widened and she breathed in sharply at the thought of falling down the elevator shaft. In a purely instinctive gesture, she placed her hand protectively over her baby. Fortunately, Maan was too focussed on explaining to her the safest way to climb out of the elevator to notice.

Sasha had been running around the whole building trying to find MK for over an hour. She'd had the bright idea of suggesting they work together over lunch on the project, but he was no where to be found. He wasn't in his office, and he wasn't in that Geet's office either. Sasha could not figure out where he had gone. She spied Tasha, and hurrying up to her asked, "Tasha, have you seen MK? I've been looking all over for him but I can't seem to find him anywhere."

"Haven't you heard? MK and Geet have been stuck in and elevator for I don't know how long."

"What?"

"Yes. Maintenance and the engineers have been trying to get the elevator to work again, but so far nothing they've tried has worked. They're forcing the doors open right now."

"If MK has been stuck in an elevator, why did no one tell me?" complained Sasha. "I have to go to him." Grabbing Tasha's arm Sasha demanded to be taken to MK. Upon arriving at the scene Sasha pushed her way through the crowd of people just in time to see Geet being pulled out of the elevator, with Maan standing behind her, making sure that she didn't fall. As Maan climbed out of the elevator Sasha rushed over to him saying, "MK, are you alright? I can't believe you were stuck in there so long. This is terrible!"

"Sasha, there's no need to make a scene. We're fine. Everyone can get back to their work, you also." For the second time today Sasha's mouth dropped open in astonishment. She just could not believe how MK was speaking with her today. She turned around to see Pinky hugging Geet and asking how she was. Sasha's eyes narrowed as she thought to herself, "It's all the fault of that stupid Punjabi girl. I have got to find a way to get her out of here."

Maan also looked over at Geet, saw her being embraced by Adi in a hug and heard her saying "I'm fine. It wasn't that bad." An almost unreasonable furry came upon him. What was she doing over there getting hugs from everyone and his brother, when there was important work to do?

"Geet!" Maan barked, giving her a cold stare as she turned to face him with a scared look on her face. "If you've finished with your hugging fest, may I reminded you that you still have a lot of work that needs to be done updating the files for tomorrow's presentation. Get to it!"

Geet just nodded a yes, gathered up the files, and went to the nearest stairwell, not quite ready to get back into another elevator. Before turning the corner she glanced back at Maan, only to see him yelling at the engineers to get working on solving the elevator problem. Geet was not really sure why he suddenly seemed so angry, but then thought that maybe he is nervous about tomorrow's meeting. After all, a real prince was coming to the presentation, and that was no small thing.

Geet placed her hand over her mouth as she tried to stifle a yawn that escaped. She'd been working on these files all afternoon. It was now 7:00 and she still wasn't finished. Unknown to Geet, Maan had been watching her for the past few minutes, and seeing the yawn, realized how tired she was. "Kya karoon mein iss pagal ladki ka?" thought Maan to himself as he picked up his phone. "I've told her before that she doesn't need to stay late just because I'm still here."

A few minutes later Maan walked into Geet's cabin and said, "Geet, go home."

"But Sir, I haven't finished yet," responded Geet with a look of shock on her face. "These are the files for the presentation tomorrow, and if I don't finishing them tonight..."

"You can finish them tomorrow. The presentation isn't until 3 in the afternoon. That should give you more that enough time to finish up. After our adventure today, I'm sure you're tired. Have you even had anything to eat?"

Geet started to reply, but just at that moment her stomach let out a very loud growl. Maan gave her an exasperated look and said, "Go home. Get something to eat and then get a good night's sleep. My driver will take you home."

"Nahi, Sir, I can get a taxi. There's no need to go to any trouble for me."

Maan reminded her of what happened the last time she tried to get a taxi after work hours. He told her not to be foolish and waste his time. "Geet, go home. I'll see you tomorrow." With that Maan walked back to his own office and did his best to pretend he wasn't watching Geet get ready to leave for the night.

"MK, it's just an act. Don't fall for it. She's just trying to get your sympathy!"

This part was really too good! Sasha and Maan's jealousy.......lolz.......kinda serves them right! Aww......he was watching her and was concerned about her.....so cute! I liked this part a lot! Do continue soon and thanx for the PM!

Loved how Maan puts sasha down in this ...Maan jealous of Adi 😆. Whats wrong with geet? Will Maan find out her truth in next part... please update soon....
