Unique music release of 'BANARAS'

The Music release of BANARAS lives up to film's spiritual mysticism!

In keeping with its divine mysticism and spiritual element, the music release of Pankaj Parashar's BANARAS - A MYSTIC LOVE STORY, was an event to behold with 16 great pundits descending from the Himalayas on the Benares ghats for the vedic chanting that preceded the music release of the film. "It is the first time in the history of films, that the music was released in this fashion. We specially chose Benares as the venue for the music release because we wanted the event to reflect the mood of the film. Having a music release in Mumbai would have meant the usual drinks and partying which was definitely not what we were looking for," Parashar reveals.

According to Parashar, the event entailed an elaborate planning months in advance. "We erected a special pandal on the famous Dashamedha ghat in Benares for the event where we invited 16 pundits to perform the four hour ritual and chanting. It charged the atmosphere with a new spiritual reverberation, at the end of which we released the music. The place of Benares and its residents were all geared up for the event," he recalls.

The promo of the film was also shown to the crowd present at the packed pandal. Meanwhile, Parashar and the producers of the film, are looking at releasing the film with multiple prints in Uttar Pradesh. "The audience of Uttar Pradesh is spiritually conscious and U.P. is a very big market. The film has elicited considerable curiosity here and we are looking at releasing it with the maximum number of prints," Parashar reveals.

On the other hand, he informs that the virtual 'diva' on the web site of the film has thousands of people praying and seeking fulfillment of their wishes. "We have got good number of visitors all over the world and the numbers are increasing with each passing day," he says.

BANARAS is a sublime love story that revolves around Benaras, the spiritual capital of the world.

The film stars Urmila Matondkar, Ashmit Patel, Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar, Dimple Kapadia, Akash Khurana and others, and is scheduled for an April 7 release.
