Who should Sony let win?

Yeah, that's the right question. Logically speaking there is a roadblock for each of these finalists in their way to become the next Indian Idol. Let's try to analyze each one of them-

1. ANTARA- According to me has very high chances of winning as she has all that takes to be a winner but the only road block would be, as Amey has put it, 'fake' persona of being a 'chhoti is gnaav ki ladki' and people are already pissed off with her tears on TV. To most people she comes across as a very fake person, which can work against her chances of winning the title. If she won she would be, in music terms quite a decent discovery of Sony in the music industry.

2. AMEY- Definitely an excellent singer and has a strong and likeable personality. The only spoilsport is that he's already been discovered by Zee. If he won Sony cannot claim to have found a unique voice as he's already been found by SRGMP of Zee.
3. KARUNYA- Brilliant singer and has a very unconventional charm that could actually work in his favor. The only obstacle would be not getting enough votes but he could spring a surprise by becoming a winner and if he won Sony would have a very strong singer that it can claim of introducing to the music industry.

4. ANUJ- As a singer he needs to be more polished. His greatest advantage is his vote bank and that is the only reason why he will move forward in the competition. Unfortunately, as an Indian Idol he will be short-lived as the music industry will definitely compare him with other singers discovered by SRGMP and even Abhijit Sawanth for that matter. Comparatively, Anuj is a weak singer.

5. SANDEEP- Sandeeep needs a lot of polishing in all aspects of music. He urgently needs to come out of Udit ji's image and needs to build his personality that an Indian Idol should possess. His versatality is a big question mark. His greatest advantage is his vote bank and even if he won, like Anuj, his fame would be short-lived as he's a weak singer compared to Abhijit Sawanth. Sony will definitely find it difficult to sell Sandeep's singing abilities to other musicians in the industry. The point is that if there's already an experienced and professional singer like Udit ji, why would the musicians invest their time and money on his dupe? Sandeep can win the title but is Sony willing to take that risk? The risk of promoting a singer like Sandeep and losing the quality attached to a show like Indian Idol. The risks are both short-term and long-term but he could make it by the grace of the janta.

I think the main reason why Debojit won was because Zee wanted a unique voice that it can claim of discovering. Vinit was definitely a very good singer and had high profile throughout the competition but his voice resembled Sonu's voice and that probably worked against him in the finals. Zee very well understands that it's easy to sell someone like Debojit than sell another Sonu Nigam. Ditto with Sandeep.

i guess u r right !!! ... even though she shows lots of emotions when some one leaves but she has got bold views on some of the aspects of india idol/contestants ...
even though she is a girl from small village but her character does'nt show that

but all that said, she is very good singer ..

Antara will be the winner according to me,I completely agree with your other observations regarding all the contestants.


The final two will be Karunya and Antara I have a very strong feeling and Antara will be the II2.

yes I agree with Connie ,Antara is the next II2 not because she is THE BEST but because she is competitive ,a true representation of raw talent in India and ofcourse a girl.
Amey will loose it to Karu and Antara for the very same reasons.
