The second season of Desperate Housewives premieres this Sunday. Abhishek Mande speaks to some wives from the television industry…

I fancy being Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) because of the affair she has with the gardener. Since I have a handsome man in my life, I believe that I am Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) the woman who loves the plumber. But in reality, thanks to the children in my life, I am actually Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) the harried mother of four boys. Trust me, being a mother is a fulltime job.

What I like about the show is that I can associate with all the women. Personally I feel that there is a little of all four in me. But if I have to choose, I'd go for Susan Mayer (played by Teri Hatcher) and her difficulties in finding love. But Bree (Marcia Cross) is a very complex woman. With her, what you see is what you get.
Manini De
I completely adore Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), and identify with her. To me, she represents a dichotomy that many working women undergo when they have to make a choice between their career and their children. I am a working mother so I understand the compulsions. However there are times when I like to be by myself and do just that… even if it means displeasing people around me.
Namrata Baruwa
I think it is a morbid show but one that you can't ignore. Somehow I simply don't associate with Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman). I can understand an intelligent career woman wanting to leave her job. But why should it take four children to realise that she can't cope with motherhood! My husband likes the show though.
