ok guys..todays episode was mostly of suhana and the bhabis...but we had one part where we see dolly didi telling that her husband hit her and took all the money...she shows her bruises in hands and neck...
i think this is one serious issue thats prevailing everywhere(especially below poverty line...din want to mention but still)...the ladies there are not educated and hence they are totally dependant on their husband...but is it fair on the husband's side to take advantage over this...
i mean i have seen it myself...nearly everyday i see fights outside my house...husbands hitting wives and all...and exactly what has happened with dolly didi...taking all the money from the wife which she has earned through hard work is totally unfair...and what do they do with the money...gamble..
and the ladies too cannot do anything...as dolly didi said he is her husband and father of her children...so what is the solution??
Guys..No offence on any one...just my views...
what do you think is the solution...

Well.....firstly...thnk u so much for putting up this post...n domestic violence is indeed a crime as big n serious as any other....
Just coz a women is uneducated or has no alternate means of income...she has to endure such violence n abuse is intolerable...
Tho i havent seen the epi yet...m sure that SGP CVs must hv handled the subject sensitively........

These women need to be educated about their rights and how they can seek protection from Law (don't know about India), and women's organization for domestic violence. If educated women can only spend just a couple of hours a week to educate these oppressed women or volunteer in these organizations, we can see dramatic change in the society. These organizations can honestly use lot of help.
Ask not what the society gave you, ask thyself what you gave to the society. The ultimate pleasure is in giving.

They dint show her husband hitting her, but it meant that only. She said her husband came home drunk, hit her and took away all her money !
There are lot of organisations that help women against domestic violence, but most of these low class women, even though they are aware about these organisations, they themselves dont want to approach them as they believe in 'ghar ki baatein ghar mein hi rehna chahiye'. And like Dolly Didi said, most of these women dont want to take any action against their violent husbands, as they give them an over consideration of being their husband and the father of their kids, and fear break up of their family in case they took such an action. So in comparison to all this, they just prefer to tolerate such domestic abuse so as to maintain peace at home, and avoid 'badnaami' in the society .

Shwetha, this is really an excellent subject that you brought up. Most of us would have and did, get caught up in the story and missed out on that and kudos to you for posting on this topic. 👏
Yes, this is a very sensitve topic, and I think only education and overall society's disapproval expressed to such abusers will only erase this issue.
Just as an eg, when I was growing up, the bai had 3 kids, who all worked after school and 2 of them graduated also. One girl is happily married, but the 2nd girl got married to her mama / someone in the village, and she was the one who was really good and bright. Unfortunately, due to society, her mother also is just telling her to bear it out - i learned this on one of my visits to India, when I checked her out also. Her only son is a driver, earning decently, so she could've easily told her daughter to come home and work with her kids, but she has bowed down to society and that's that.
Until society - that means each of us also - actively boycotts or goes against men who do this type of abuse, there will never be an end to this.
Your take?

i think this eventually leads to many other poroblems...
one such one is the impact on children..it will definitely affect them when they see their parents fighting...and father hitting mother...i feel..
a girl child would become more supressed and moretimid on seeing this...
a boy child might become more rough and tough and may also follow what his father did..another thing is the mother after bearing all these fromhusband should not show her anger on the chidren...this will make the children all the more lonely....
yes the only way is education....and also i feel the women should also stand up for her rights....as citizens i think this is one of the issues i feel we cannot help...its up to the individuals....
wat say??

I totally agree with u.I feel that Badnaami "and "being labelled as incompetent "is the major factor for the tolerance of domestic factor. Being educated or uneducated doesnot make much difference.(that'swhat i feel fromwhat have seen ) .
I have seen(in most cases ) Parents themselves don't support their daughters, whatever be the reasons.which is very sad.
I think the only solution that we upbring our daughters with security that we,as parents are always there for them and support ing them in every decision they make And i also strongly feel that we teach our son's that violence is not the answer .
As they say that for a society to change ,that change should begin in every home.
