SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN TO BE RELEASED AS TWO SEPARATE FILMS
First Film to Arrive in Theatres November 18, 2011

Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2010 – Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

The third film in the franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is due in theaters on June 30, 2010.

They want to make the whole c-sect into PG-13 and we all know the over hyped "battle" was nothing but a joke. I really don't see why it needs to be two films. Not a whole lot happens that can't be covered in 1.

I don't think I'm happy about it but want to wish them luck anyway.

Ya because they are going to make us wait for a long time but then i want every detail of the honeymoon so i am okay with it 😆

The movie is rated PG-13, so there wont a detailed honeymoon Harsha😉 I doubt there will be a honeymoon at all. They might just add "1 year later" 😆

Ya I dont get the point as to why they would make breaking dawn into 2 movies, as the whole tension regarding the battle was just hyped, and then bam! no battle took place.

It would have made more sense if they combined eclipse and breaking dawn into 3 movies as eclipse had way more weightage compared to breaking dawn, like it had Jaspers story, the wolves story, rosalie's story. and m sure they will leave out alot of details in the movie eclipse.

Just my opinion, it would have made more sense, and they wouldnt have had to leave out alot in eclipse

Agreed- there's not much in the book so they don't really need two films- the films are just going to drag but i suppose they're doing it to make more money- i mean twilight has a huge hype going on and is making loads of money so 2 films will make even more cash.
