Hello everyone, this is my first post ever in this forum so please don't be so harsh or rude but I totally welcome any opinions, ideas, debates etc' So I've watched DMG since it first started three years ago. Three years ago when everyone in the show was vivacious and full of masti. Three years ago when Armaan was funny, Atul was cute, Ridzie was the girl we all wanted to be like. I fell in love with Armaan and Riddhima, like most of you did. I fell in love with their mischievousness, chemistry and characters. They were the epitome of young love. Then Shilpa Anand decided to leave the show and thus started the first division between the AR fans. KaSu and Kash. I realize that different people see and feel different chemistries and although I was upset with the thought of a new person playing the role of Riddhima I got used to it, after all I was strictly an AR fan. Then when we got Jennifer there was yet again another division: KaJen. I realize that everyone likes a different jodi but I started to feel that people weren't caring about the characters anymore, instead it was only about the actors. I'm not saying that it's bad or anything but I guess I felt that because I started watching this show for the characters of Armaan and Riddhima that so did other people. Be it KaSh or KaSu or KaJen we were all united under the same banner: Armaan and Riddhima.
I'm not going to lie to you I stopped watching this show after Abhi and Nikki left the show. Even then I was scarcely watching it because of the leap and Armaan being MIA and Rahul and Muskaans story completely weirded out (in my opinion there story wasn't given a proper ending). Yet again though DMG brought us new couples such as YuNa, that many began to love. Secretly though, I yearned for Armaan and Riddhima as I always felt that they were the life of the show, so I recently watched an episode only to find out that everything was not at all how I thought they would be.
And before some of you start saying 'get over it Armaan and Riddhima are never going to get together now', I somewhat agree. The writers of this show brought about a change in the two characters I loved so much. Riddhima changed, having thought she lost the love of her life. Then obviously things happened and we saw her opposite Sid. Again, I am not going to say I was completely and totally thrilled for them at first because I wasn't. I hated the thought of Riddhima being with anyone else besides Armaan. But Riddhima changed with Sid, she realized she could not have the love she thought would last her a lifetime and she accepted it and moved on. Then Armaan came back. She was confused, bewildered and I've read many posts here saying she was being horrible to the both of them and that her character was deteriorating. Of course she was confused, here she thought she could move on and the man she was completely in love with has returned. I'm not justifying her actions but trying to shed some light on as to why. Now when I look back I feel that Armaan and Riddhima have changed too much for them to be together now. First of all Riddhima is married and Armaan is accepting it and moving on (although when I watched today's scene I cried because it was absolutely heartwrenching). They fell in love and it was a great love. But life happens and life happened to both of them. In real life people don't always have a happy ending and in a sense I'm happy that the CVs have shown that and decided to show the both of them move on. You fall in love and sometimes you fall out of it but that doesn't mean that you forget the person completely. Armaan and Riddhima will always be special to one another; they were each others first loves. I feel if Armaan and Riddhima were to be together now it would be for all the wrong reasons and it would not be able to last. They are completely two different people now than they were when they first met and fell in love.
Also I'd like to add that I feel tomorrow's scene with Armaan and Riddhima will be perfect. It is their first dance for the last time. I think it truly signifies the end of their relationship, something that hurts but I feel is inevitable. Armaan is finally letting Riddhima go and be it a dream sequence or otherwise. His heart will be free to love another, maybe not as passionately or lovingly, but he will love again.
So I guess I had to write this as a catharsis because it feels really good to just let it out. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue watching this show but maybe sneak in now and then to see how it's going. This post is in no way trying to bash or to change people's view. This is just my way of letting my thoughts out and if you happen to agree or disagree I'm fine with it, I mean we are only human. I may say it is over for Armaan and Riddhima but I really do hope that the CVs ensure fans that both of them lead good lives. Riddhima will love Sid and Armaan will now find a new love in Kangan (I think that's her name). Although I'm still holding onto my hope that 60 years from now when maybe they are both alone and old they decide to find each other again and find the love that changed them and brought us to near tears, a love that would've lasted a lifetime. So here's to hoping for a possible-not-anytime-soon future for a couple that I, we, fell in love with.
Sincerely, Nor.
P.S. I hope you enjoy this very long post, for anyone who cared to read it. (:
