Recently veteran US reporter, Helen Thomas, said that Isreal should get the hell out of Palestine.
do you Agree ?
Basically Isreal has been extending its territories on Palestinian soil and this has to stop.

A report by Strategic Foresight Group has estimated the opportunity cost of conflict for the Middle East from 1991-2010 at $12 trillion. The report's opportunity cost calculates the peace GDP of countries in the Middle East by comparing the current GDP to the potential GDP in times of peace. Israel's share is almost $1 trillion, with Iraq and Saudi Arabia having approximately $2.2 and $4.5 trillion, respectively. In other words, had there been peace and cooperation between Israel and Arab nations since 1991, the average Israeli citizen would be earning over $44,000 instead of $23,000 in 2010.[88]

In terms of the human cost, estimates range from 51,000 fatalities (35,000 Arabs and 16,000 Jews) from 1950 to 2007,[89] to 92,000 fatalities (from 1945 to 1995).[90]

US reporter Helen Thomas quits over Israel comments

Veteran US White House reporter Helen Thomas has retired after making controversial remarks about Israel.

In an interview on 27 May, she said that Israelis should get "the hell out of Palestine" and suggested they went to Germany, Poland or the US.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said her comments were "offensive and reprehensible". She has since apologised.

Thomas, 89, was the longest-serving reporter in the White House.

She has spent most of her career working for United Press International wire service, but had been working as a columnist for Hearst newspapers since 2000.

Seems that since the late 19th century the Jews and Arabs have never really been able to get along.
Some background of conflict:

The Arab–Israeli conflict (Arabic: ?????? ?????? ??????????? A?-?ira? al-?Arabi al-'Isra'ili, Hebrew: ?????? ???????-????? HaSikhsukh HaYisre'eli-Aravi) refers to the political tensions and open hostilities between the Arab people of the Middle East and the Jewish community of present-day Israel, that has lasted for over a century. Some trace the beginning of the conflict to large-scale Jewish immigration to Palestine, especially after the establishment of the Zionist movement and which intensified with the creation of the modern State of Israel in 1948 in territory regarded by the Jewish people as their historical homeland, and by the Pan-Arab movement as belonging to the Palestinians, be they Muslim, Christian, Druze or other (and in the Pan-Islamic context, in territory regarded as Muslim lands).

The conflict, which started as a political and nationalist conflict over competing territorial ambitions following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, has shifted over the years from the large scale regional Arab–Israeli conflict to a more local Israeli-Palestinian conflict, though the Arab World and Israel generally remain at odds with each other over specific territory.

Looks like problem arose since the late 19th century:
" In the late 19th century, under Zionism, many European Jews purchased swamps and other desert land from the Ottoman sultan and his agents. At that time, Jerusalem did not extend beyond the walled area and had a population of only a few tens of thousands. Under the Zionists, collective farms, known as kibbutzim, were established, as was the first entirely Jewish city in modern times, Tel Aviv."

Before World War I, the Middle East, including Palestine, had been under the control of the Ottoman Empire for nearly 500 years. During the closing years of their empire the Ottomans began to espouse their Turkish ethnic identity, asserting the primacy of Turks within the empire, leading to discrimination against the Arabs.[10] The promise of liberation from the Ottomans led many Jews and Arabs to support the allied powers during World War I, leading to the emergence of widespread Arab nationalism.

In 1917, the British government issued the Balfour Declaration, which stated that the government viewed favourably "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people" but "that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine". The Declaration was issued as a result of the belief of key members of the government, including Prime Minister Lloyd George, that Jewish support was essential to winning the war; however, the declaration caused great disquiet in the Arab world.[11] After the war, the area came under British rule as the British Mandate of Palestine. The area mandated to the British included what is today Israel, Jordan, the West Bank and Gaza.

Jewish immigration to Palestine increased. By 1931, 17 percent of the population of Palestine were Jews, an increase of six percent since 1922.[12] Jewish immigration increased soon after the Nazis came to power in Germany, causing the Jewish population in Palestine to double.[13] Palestinian Arabs saw this rapid influx of Jewish immigrants as a threat to their homeland and their identity as a people. Moreover, Jewish policies of purchasing land and prohibiting the employment of Arabs in Jewish-owned industries and farms greatly angered the Palestinian Arab communities.[14]

There is no doubt that the Isreal of now is no longer the same. It has in some ways become very powerful due to the support of the US.
This is one of the most likely areas which could start the Third World War.
They should stick to the territories given to them and return the lands that do not belong to them. Looks like since the second world war more Jewish people have been returning to Isreal.

So Turkey itself was responsible for this mess, how ironic!

I don't think it is possible to change boundaries there now. That window of opportunity has passed long ago.

It is interesting ... I had a topic too, regarding similar crisis. Such crisis keep the world divided.

We need to have trust ... we need to look for Positive Peace. Negative Peace is a failure (a recognised one).

Some background about Helen Thomas, it almost seems like it was her heritage speaking, and not a reporter
Thomas was born in Winchester, Kentucky.[4] Her parents, Mary (ne Rowady) and George Thomas, were Lebanese immigrants from Tripoli, Lebanon;[5][6][7] her father's surname had originally been "Antonious" before being anglicized to Thomas at Ellis Island.[8] Thomas was raised as a Christian in the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch.[9] She grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Wayne University (now Wayne State University), graduating with a bachelor's degree in English in 1942
What is most offensive about this is Helen Thomas suggested Jews go back to the land where they were killed in mass and that too in a Jewish Heritage month
She is a pall bearer for Women in the field of journalism. I was hoping she would continue and stop this charade of news reporters trying to portray themselves as neutral.
A little history on Gaza
Isreal was out of Gaza strip in 2005, They had elections over there, the public choose Hamas, that thinks that Isreal should not exist. Isreal put sanctions, after escalation, there was a blocade Isreal lets some supplies pass, but some people decided to be headline grabbers and created a crisis.
Helen Thomas was stupid(or senile) enough to put a foot in the mouth
About the question
Isreal should get the hell out of Palestine, NO. That is as just like saying Muslims should get the hell out of India

I forget the name, but recently a Palestinian Muslim represented Israel in the Eurovision along with an Israeli Jew. She was also in support of Israel as a whole state.There was a lot of furore over her being a traitor etc.
