Analysing Abhi-Simi's love and relationship

Let me first try analyzing Abhi's reasoning for loving Simi

1. Abhi was attracted to her simplicity and he seemed to like the way Simi was praying oblivious of the surrounding. He was surprised the way she did not even turn around to look who it was who rang the bell along with her.

2. Abhi's second meeting with simi ended in a handshake and both seemed to hold to each other's hand a little while longer. Probably they wanted to show the connect between two souls even as they did not know each other.

3. The third meeting was when Simi escaped from Bhalla. Probably Abhi appreciated the fact that the woman held on to her self respect in spite of the "fiancee" matter.

4. Their fourth meeting was when he dropped her to the police station. Abhi tried to make her smile because he just sympathized with what she must be going through.

5. Their Qutb Minar meeting - Abhi and Simi never even knew each other's names. Still he was worried that she is marrying a man in spite of not being her choice since she already told him that decisions are not always made for oneself but for other's sake. We got to see Abhi surprised and may be appreciating the fact that Simi puts behind her happiness when it comes to her family.

This led to Abhi investigating about Bhalla and going to the extent of disclosing about Bhalla in spite of Simi's non cooperation.

6. Abhi went ahead meeting her in college, bringing out the little girl in Simi, gifting her, making her also get a little naughty by bunking class, enjoyed the way she was enjoying chat without inhibitions. Probably he realized Simi has always subdued her emotions being the older sibling to her sibs. Abhi could understand over phone that she was feeling low and hence that overnight conversation where he made Simi talk a lot about herself.

7. He liked her concern when she told him to travel next day since he did not sleep that night.

8. After meeting Guruji, he felt there was more to it than a friendship with Simi though he seemed not to realize what his feelings were for Simi.

11. Abhi seemed to be irritated by the fact that Simi is worrying that she was rejected by that Sharma guy and was angry when she was sarcastically telling him to find a guy for her just like all others are doing.

12. The decision was made by Abhi when Simi called to tell that Bhalla threatened her and also gave her an inclination that he has decided something and after which she will not have to cry in front of anyone.

13. Abhi felt Simi is dependant on him and for all that she has gone through he wanted to give her the best of a life and he decided it would be their life together.

14. Abhi was compelled to just seek friendship for reasons he stated to Guruji about a job, house and security and the age factor and Simi's reaction or feelings for him.

15. Till here we got to see that Simi is also yearning for genuine love and hoping she will meet her prince charming.

17. Nakul came into the picture. When she was bothering about what could be done about Neetu, she pushed aside Abhi's worry about Nakul being a better suitor for her than himself. Having been rejected multiple times, she was not actually worried and told Abhi not to worry since chances are high that Nakul will reject her. According to Simi, it was a plain proposal and did not expect Nakul and daadi's intention for Omi-Neetu and hence a possible yes from Nakul.

18. Here onwards we have Simi surrounded by problems?.Nitu getting pregnant, and AnujAnita leaving home. She as an elder sister decided what the best solution out was for Neetu and compelled her for a termination of pregnancy. Here Simi's concern was avoiding the pain for her parents when they get to know about Neetu. Though incorrect, her intention was to avoid trouble and the shame for her family. Simi is not shown as the one who makes decision after much thoughtful contemplation. It has always been impulsive.

When it was her mother taunting her for being unmarried, she decided whoever it was irrespective of what a loser he was, she just went by her impulsive decision to get herself out of the "unmarried" status. Though her father is supportive, as declared by her own dad prior to Roka, Simi has always looked forward to an approval from Manju and was always bent upon pleasing her. So here again in Neetu's case, her decision is for the sake of family. But she hardly realized she is alienating her own sister from her.

20. Her next problem troubling her was Anuj leaving home and her mother Manju literally throwing tantrums and threatening of consequences if Anuj did not return home.

21. Her papaji had promised Abhi that he would get anything in return if he would manage to get the shop opened for papaji. Simi has actually banked on that issue. When her dad accepts the proposal from Daadi at Nakul's home, she is actually getting worried at the turn of events. When her dad asks her to decide, Simi tells her dad thet she will decide by that Saturday because she knew Abhi had managed the papers toget the shop open and when Abhi would ask for her hand in marriage,papaji would accept. So she decided she can push Nakul's issue till Saturday. Simi was never shown to be the girl who speaks her mind out. Even after Simi was asked several times, instead of telling her dad that she loved Abhi, she waited for Abhi to seek her hand officially. Simi has been like this, thanks to her mother's taunts all the time.

22. But unfortunately with Anita brainwashing her, she got worried about Anuj and her mother's separation. So going by her usual behavior, she put aside her happiness with Abhi and forced him to ask Anita-Anuj's return. Knowing fully well how adamant Abhi is, she decided to insult him so that he will not ask what he came for. It was the most demeaning thing to do. But that's how Simi is, her priorities are different. When Abhi leaves her that goodbye note, she cries out to Mili that she loves Abhi and he had actually come to ask her hand in marriage. But thanks to Mili, with that unfortunate electrocution scene (the sad day in KB), they patch up. And when Abhi insists that he is going to meet her dad, she agrees. She had happily returned home along with Abhi that day after their little romance in the park but was soon surrounded by Anita's plan to demean Abhi as a womanizer. Finally that backfired, and Papaji gave his consent and the Roka happened after that drama. Simi went ahead with her private pheres with Abhi because she believed all is going to be fine.

23. Her plans shattered when Neetu-Omi alliance came up and she put behind her love and marriage in the name of family honor. Another mean thing to do. Here again, her decision is impulsive. Simi does not think about the consequences but feels it's her responsibility all the time to save her people. Well Manju asked for it. And Simi agreed.

24. Simi gave in to Manju's demand and even tried to get Abhi hate her. Unfortunately Abhi knows her too well. He knows what Simi will do and he took it upon himself to get Simi back. Everyone is irritated by her behavior. Abhi gets almost killed. When Abhi is getting beaten up, we could Simi crying helplessly. When it went to the extent of Abhi getting killed, she could not take it any longer. Here again Simi is impulsive. When she could have very well avoided this drama, her indecisiveness caused more problems. The last minute disclosure earned her mother's wrath, and again becoming homeless following their ousting from T-mansion.

Simi has made all wrong decisions in her life in an emotional and impulsive manner.The fact has to be appreciated that

She did not have a problem roaming the streets with Abhi and sleeping on the dhaba charpai.

She was living in Omis dhaba along with Abhi

She was giving Abhi the confidence that he will find a job soon

Simi was reminding Abhi not to spend lavishly till they find a better way of living.

Simi was telling Abhi to eat on time and not to have outside food.

If they had continued that way, Simi would have got adjusted and led a life with Abhi with whatever they could manage. Unfortunately it has to be the story of 12/24 KB and so they had to return.

Abhi appreciating Simi

He likes her concern for him and asks why she is pampering him.

Abhi is willing to forgive her for leaving his romantic dinner plan when he learns that papaji was seriously ill

and her mind preoccupied with Anuj's problem.

Abhi is willing to support her to make her happy because he too felt that her dad needed them.

He has told Simi that he understands that Simi being the eldest has her family responsibilities and is not expecting her to leave everything and concentrate being with him.

Abhi is surprised and appreciates Simi saying she has a generous heart to forgive her brother who wronged her and worrying about him.

Abhi gets emotional when he learns that all Simi has to wish is for him and her family and nothing for herself.

Abhi tells Simi that it's with difficulty he can get her closer to him and requests her to tell "I love you". So even Abhi knows that Simi does not say all these and she does not come close to him easily. Abhi understands Simi wanting to be with him when the house problem was sorted because he knows she is free of worries.

Recently after the Bhalla's issue came up, Abhi never left Simi and he continued being good to her family.

Abhi has never wanted Simi to look different or change her looks.

When Abhi's boss commented about Simi looking older, he of course did not like it. He was angry at Simi turning up suddenly and colleagues commenting that his wife could not stay away from him for a short time.

May be not properly scripted, but I find it is their attempt to show that in spite of age difference and the fights, both are willing to end their tiff. Simi made a mistake hiding a secret. Though she offered explanation which will never be a correct one, Abhi was not willing to hear it out. Secrets should not be existing between couples. But in real life how many couples can claim there is not even 1% that is kept from their spouses. Put them on a lie detector.

Whoever may be right or wrong in a relationship, it would be nice if the wrong doer owns up his/her mistake. Waiting to finally prove who was right and wrong will not make any relationship work. Here again I feel that Abhi said sorry to Simi. Simi did not openly give statements.

Simi knows it was a mistake that she hid the fact. Before Abhi getting to know she is only worried about the consequences of the truth and gets nightmares.

Simi daydreaming her patch up with Abhi was telling Abhi?mujhe maaf kar do Abhi, I am sorry but he did not allow her to talk. Anger prevents a man from thinking loud and clear. Though it did not go with the initial characterization of Abhi, we did get glimpses of his temper earlier too.

Now Abhi is saying sorry. Goes to show there is no big time ego in him at 22years.

One partner has to give in each time there is a conflict. Here Abhi has been most of the times correct.

May be here we are seeing the age gap issue. Simi at 30 is stubborn and sticks to her impulsive decision. Imagine running behind Bhalla in an open market and earlier thrashing him too but advising Abhi to contain his anger. And Abhi at 22 is way more mature and flexible in mending relationships.

At least I am happy that the statements made are not 100% correct. We expect Abhi getting a job, taking Simi away and both facing society and living their life. But it is far from reality. It may not always be easy to find and maintain a job for whatever reasons. Here the qualification used for Abhi is the problem. IIM graduates do get a high paying job. Probably they want to show that parental support is necessary when it comes to mending their children's lives.

Abhi pulling Mili back to Nakul's house was not the right decision. What if like during the wedding time, ten people hold onto Abhi, and then Mili is in trouble again.

Well too many queries and too many unanswered questions, too many thoughts and too many interpretations. Whatever it is going to be I will watch the show and try to take a lesson or two. And accept the fact that be it Abhi or Simi, no one is perfect. And so again my own reasons not to hate Simi or Abhi and appreciate the element of goodness in Abhi and Simi.

Mesimi your distinguished ideas about certain events were excellently written and defined the turmoil going through Simi's mind..Just simply put magnificent work in depicting them

Now with the points from 1st to 9th we see Simi as the rejected ,disliked disdain and with a very low self esteem...BUT lucky in the love department because her Valentine has arrived and she does not know it .

From the point 15 Simi is yearning for her true love...

In the 17 -21 her illogical and sacrificial personality takes over again and she becomes this super woman again to take care of her siblings and OBEY her mother regardless of what is important for her own happiness or even the consequences of her actions...

23 again here she goes on her high horse and haughty attitude to save the family honor having no regards for the outcome or even rationally regrouping with the one person who is on her side her papaji.. or contemplating the consequences....

24. Trying in the failed cause of Abhi to hate her...why??so she could marry Nakul....and finally the drama ended with her admittance of the fact that Abhi is her husband......in a very nick of time??

I completely agree with you in these scenarios and the lack of the creative's to show us the romance from both sides and not just from this 22years side only...Having not watched the serial from the very beginning does puts me at a disadvantage on certain facts but one thing is painfully obvious from your writing the points here that is the STORY WAS WEAK IN THE BEGINNING AND IMPERFECT to show the romance for this couple here because it just wasn't written for both the characters in mind and that is just my perspective and ONLY my angle*

A very complex and controversial topic to show and even harder to show the outcome and the struggles of 22year old and the 30year old . So the saga continues and now they are going on this new venture to the newer horizons...and we the loyal fans await....??😍

MeSimi, Sounds to me you are desperately trying to find something inspire you to justify what has happened in the show when in fact the creator the show himself felt that the crux of the reasons why Abhi fell in love with Simi went missing from the show and walked out. I thought he'd be bad and was STUNNED when he responded the way he did. I was shocked since I was forbidden to express those views here. My take on the show was SPOT ON!

The first 16 reasons are reasons for liking someone but not a reason to love someone. Had the writers built on these 16 reasons and given us 16 plus more events, a romance could have bloosomed.

I really see you're trying very hard to ignore how you felt so disappointed with the Abhi-Simi track and are trying hard to be optimisitc and postiive. My only concern is how you will feel when you are disappointed again.
