Thank you all, for your replies and for your wonderful words ... truly, Sanaya has been the most under-appreciated actor of MJHT. Even speaking for myself it was only when I saw her off screen persona that I realised what a really awesome job she has done in completely transforming herself into Gunjan. She has turned the most cliched character in the book into a living breathing real person, a woman of substance, a girl to admire and love. She makes us cry with her, laugh with her and feel her tears and her pain. I have never been so affected by any scenes on TV as I was by the ones on Valentine's night, both last years and this years, and both for completely different reasons. The ones this year actually left me numb for two days ... I had to keep telling myself that this was a TV show, with fictional characters, but my heart refused to let go because I could feel Gunjan's pain, all the more deeply because she didn't wail or break into hysterical sobs, she showed complete and utter dignity and grace in the face of her heartbreak. And that is what I most admire about the character Gunjan - her dignity. The CV's have created such a unique character and Sanaya has portrayed this character so beautifully and perfectly that no one can even think of anyone replacing her ... neither the actress, nor the character Gunjan in Samrat's life.
After watching last night's episode, I just have one more thing to add - although it appears that Gunjan is dead, if there is even the faintest smidgeon of hope that she is alive, hope the CV's realise her worth and bring Gunjan back as soon as possible ... for without her, the show is dead.
Will be back with replies to all ...
