I would like to request to end this show. Obesity is a very serious problem and is going up everyday. To me it is not at all about looks. I do believe that true love is beyond all this. To me the question is about health. The day they showed Mahi locked up in the hotel room in Goa and kept ordering food all day I felt very disgusted. Imagine what it would do to her arteries.

They should not give a message that you keep eating in the bed and two good looking guys will come looking for you. I think it is just wrong. What if some young girls get inspired with it and then find out that the reality is so far from what is being depicted in this serial.

I love to eat and so does my partner but that does not mean we eat in this kind of disorderly fasion. We both watch each other so that we can be together forever. Marriage is about lifelong companionship and nobody should marry a girl like Mahi because we all know if she keeps eating at this pace there is a very good chance that she will not live very long.
they should end this show showing that Mahi has heart problems and then she is forced to loose weight. It would be great to see thin, healty and good looking Mahi finding her true love.
My email is not at all meant to offend obese people as I am very sensitive for that topic. I just want TV creatives/producers to not dramatize and fairytalize this big issue that we have in hand.
We all have social responsibilities and to me obesity is up there with drugs, smoking and drinking. Media is a very strong medium and it is my humble request to the TV producers to make shows that can help people fight these addictions.
This is my 2 cents and Thanks in advance for listening.

I think you are right in a way..but you are only looking at one side of the coin...a person in distress...and heart broken..regardless of obesity...will tend to either sulk or/and eat..and the same thing was shown...
the show actually says that regardless of your outer appearance if your heart is clean and u are a good person....the most gorgeous hulk can be urs...

the best part I think of the show is..Mahi is shown to face the world with smile..though she knows that she is fat...and she is stupid...but when it comes to facing the world ..she is simple and to the face...

Dont you think so?

I will agree to that. She does have a great attitude for the fact that she is obese. I don't think she is shown as a good heart either. What she is doing to Shiv is exactly what she does not want happen to her. On one hand she wants to be treated with respect with the obesity and on the other hand she made fun of an obese guy and his family who came to see her for marraige(One of the early episodes). I know this is a show and whatever character personality they want to show I am fine with it. My concern is above and beyond that. The big heart does not give you a big quality life and I would like to focus on that.

All I am asking is to state the problem as problem and not glamorize it since this is an extremely serious problem. We could sympathize or empathize as much as we can but this problem is not going away and I just want people to take this more seriously.

I understand your point of view, however this show could so be meaningful to those who are already suffering from this sickness. I mean we see shows that have beautiful slim girls, but this time the show is about a girl who is struggling with weight problem and I think those who are suffering from obesity will probably be able to relate to Mahi. Sometimes shows like this can be like looking into mirror and realizing through Mahi's character that you can change your life . I personally love this show.

this is just my opinion i dont think they should end the show at ALL!!! and if you say this just about this show you should say it in all the other shows too where they show a young gurl getting pregnant before marriage and still finds a good husband or she still gets married that is not what always happens i think that we should all be more concerned about that if we do want to start getting peoples attention because the reality is that no one in our culture will truly ever accept a unwed mother and things dont always work out!!! and where it is for mahi come on eating and her having problems yeah there are possiblities but she can work on that and i am sure in real life she does try because most of the obese people i know have serious issues and they need real help in losing weight

i do like that you expressed how you felt but i love this show!!!😳

please do reply i would like to know other peoples opinion

All the points everyone has raised are quite interesting.

My point of view is situational.
When a person is depressed then something is done to come out of it and Mahi was eating. So it was quite normal that she was sitting in a room and eating.
Regarding the fat guy she didn't like, I dont think they wanted to show that she disliked the guy because he was fat, but they were raising other issues. Mahi's family thinking that she is fat was ignoring the fact that she has her own ambitions and wishes which because of obesity her mom was ignoring and brining stupid guys for her.
Another interesting point they raised is having a beautiful sibling, her sister. Mahi was always compared with her beauty and proved to be fat and ugly infront of her. Whenever Mahi sees her sister she feels like taking revenge from everyone by getting a handsome guy and marrying him and hence proving everyone wrong. Another comparison they did was with Mahi's brother who was always like a buddy to her with whom she had a normal bro-sis relation. They share joys and sorrows.
A Very interesting point raised in this serial is Why Mahi Wants a Popular Handsome Hunk. She has always looked down because of her obesity. Everyone has made fun of her whether it is office, home or school/college. So she always dreamed for a handsome guy with whom if she walks she feels proud and show the world that they are wrong and someone can love her as well. Someone notices her as well and she means something to someone special.
Regarding Shiv, what she was doing to him was absolutely wrong but it also indirectly shows her desperation. She somehow wants a good-looking guy marrying her and falling for her. But then her friends made her realize that what she was doing was wrong. She is returning same to Shiv what she got from the world. Shiv cares for her and does not deserve that.
Another good point they raised is, why did she fall for any damn handsome guy? A handsome guy if he comes and talks to her, she feels important. She feels happy that a handsome guy noticed her.
What the creatives are trying to show is that external beauty is not related to person's wishes and dreams. An obese person also have dreams and ambitions. World should neither make fun nor pity a person with any kind of defect whether it is obesity or any other disease. Every person has emotions which gets hurt and if a person gets hurt again & again it fills his heart with bitterness and then comes the stage when they want to prove the world wrong.

if mahi way was a show to promote health & was created for health related issues message, then i wud have agreed wid u. But mahi way is not about health issues, if tht was the case, we wud have NEVER seen ppl drinking alcohol most of the tine in the show. This show is about more like psychology, behaviour, how to live ur life like the way u want type of show. Yes in goa she was eating excessively but did u see today's epi? She was trying to control but then she stopped...food is what makes her happy. Then why should she avoid tht food? Love the way shiv never stopped her....he's such a sweetheart<3 Mahi way is an awesome show...& going a bit unrealistic lately...& i m really sad tht its ending :( so if u say or not, this show will end soon anyway & thts just sad :(
