With Abhi and others, they would then work together to set up a trap. The point of the story is to have Mili get raped. Sure she took a stand and that's great - she tried to get away, but she is going to raped in the story regardless....A smarter person would have done something different...you never let the enemy show your true hand in a game of poker but in Karol Bagh people seem to have a habit of flashing them in front of the enemy's face.
She reacted quickly, she didn't think of her situation. It was smart to react like that, but your idea would be much more sensible. In opposition, she probably would have been attacked by Nakul by then. She never EXPECTED this to happen. Her plan was not the most sensible but it sure did the job.
